OMG :omg: A Geordie Personal Trainer?!..Be still my beating heart! Does he have brothers? Sorry Ladies if you've all been on this roundabout before but, since I've been back, all you ladies have  done is talk about is fics, fics, fics! No one, and I mean no one mentioned that Loopy was married to a Northern personal trainer, you ladies have been finding all the good stuff!   :D :D :D

Deal!

Well, I can't remember the exact number, but I think there's enough boys in Loopy's husband's family to have their own baseball team.  Be warned though, a couple of them are underage.

During our vacation I started reading the Midnight Breed series by Lara Adrian. Very different vampires, started out as a fun read but seems to get darker... Anyone read it?

Now I'm supposed to read the Hobbit, because my son read it and now started reading Lord of the Rings (he's 11yo) and he wants to talk about it with me... I'm sooo not in the mood for those books, I'm procrastinating by rereading fanfics  ^-^ (Your Life can change in a Moment by coloradoperson, a pretty good, realistic cancer story)

The next books I really want to read are from Nicolas Barreau, a french author. I've heard great things about him, he's pretty popular here at the moment. Great lovestories...

Now, what to do...

Kerstin Gier's Rubyred trilogy is also mocking me, I have the advantage that I can read it untranslated, so I have the third book, that's not published in English yet!  :P

Well, one week of school holidays still ahead, so I have to get my son to prepare to go back to school again, my daughter just had her 6th birthday, so I have to prepare her Smurfday party and she's starting her last year of kindergarten (the important preschool year) and my youngest will be 3 soon and starts kindergarten then...
soo.... when can I read????:D

Thanks for letting me vent... :-*

NO, NOT the SMURFS!  My son wants to go see the second Smurfs movie.  I refuse.  I'll do Turbo, Despicable Me 2, Monsters' University... but I refuse to subject myself to the SMURFs!

I LOVE the Smurfs! I loved the cartoons when I was a kid and we watched the second movie on Wednesday for dd's birthday. The first movie they watched with hubs, because I can't see 3D and refuse to go to a 3D movie. But now they prefer to go with me to the normal versions of the movies because I buy more popcorn...  ;)

The Hobbit was a fun little adventure! I hope you like it. Back in 2001, my ex gave it to me as a trial run since I was excited about the LotR films coming out, and I completely fell for Tolkien. Well, not completely. I kind of skimmed a lot of the songs, it was a little too much for me. I read the trilogy as we drove around the Western U.S. for a month that summer. It was wonderful reading about this long journey while I was on one myself. It's great that your son is interested; I hope he likes them too!

I've read the trilogy several years ago and liked them but haven't seen the movies yet. I'll wait till my son has finished reading the books, then we can watch them together (my rule - reading first, watching later  ;) my son learned the truth about that rule watching Harry Potter after reading it)

I don't know Fraggle Rock or 3-2-1 Contact... There were no "Western" TV shows available before I was around 10 and then of course only a fraction...

Hey how many of you ladies have a bucket list and if yes how far along are you on it?..Aaaaand what's the most outrageous this listed?! You can tell me I won't tell anyone  ;D

I was a big Tolkien fan when I was a teen. Many years ago.  So when the movies came out, I thought, No problem I read this stuff like 20 times each (no exaggeration on that number) I shouldn't have a problem following.  I was so lost in spots.  I knew the gist of it, but things would happen & I'd say, that's not right. My husband, who read them again before the movies came out of course corrected me.

Now Harry Potter?  If you didn't read the books first? You would have no idea what was going on.  They skip around so much trying to cram it all in.  I had to watch them multiple times to follow it.  And I read the books.

A great lesson for your son! There has been only one time where I thought the film was better than the book--The Hours by Michael Cunningham. There was something about the weight of the silence in the film that for some reason translated better than the book. It was so heavy. I thought it was great.

Tell me about it. I use to take my God children to watch any and all Disney films that came out and then it was HP (which slept through, thank God) I'm just glad now that they refuse to go to the cinema with me anymore...I pretend snore to bug them.

It's mostly a dream because I just can't see spending that much money on a dress.  Especially as I keep gaining weight.  Though I have been trying to lose some.  It's just so hard. You can't eat anything.  Well, I can eat anything, I just can't eat very much of anything.  :D :D :D

I don't have a bucket list, but I'd love to go to the US sometimes... AND Australia! So, travelling will be on my list for the "the kids are out of the house - Finally!" time, because it wouldn't be much fun atm...

For the time being? my biggest wish would be uninterrupted time with my hubs, maby going to the cinema for a non-animated movie, going to a restaurant and be able to talk... AND going shopping all alone! (THIS I will treat myself to when my youngest starts kindergarten - soon)  ;)

I'd really like to trek across Northern India and Tibet. And see the temples in Cambodia that are being swallowed by the jungle. Also, I never got to ride elephants when I visited Thailand. If I ever make it back, I'd like to do that too.
