  • Hi! I'm Ellachanted and I'm a fanfic-oholic.
Thread #4 - We are crazy talkers here!

ADULT DISCUSSION HERE, SO TRY TO KEEP IT CLEAN! UM NO, WAIT! IF YOU ARE EASILY OFFENDED, LOOK AWAY NOW!

This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general.  But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, so please play nice

Because we know drypen's watching

I'd really like to trek across Northern India and Tibet. And see the temples in Cambodia that are being swallowed by the jungle. Also, I never got to ride elephants when I visited Thailand. If I ever make it back, I'd like to do that too.

So, ....um...ok...wtf.... outdoor s e x, inspired by Loopy's adventures.
Low brow, that's me all the way.

:D  Hey, for a bucket list I like to dream big, and I don't mind backpacking. It's one of the better ways of getting to know something local. I'll probably never do it since I don't want to visit those places alone, but I can still dream! And if I cross paths with some sexy guy, all the better!  ;)

Has anyone read This Is Who I AM by Pattyrose? I am really struggling; it's taking all my non-flounce skills to keep at it and I'm only 340.4 /1900. I'm hoping someone tells me to keep at it as it gets 'oh so, so much better' F*ing hell it's hard going. The writing is better then IBAIINE but who cares!
Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.
Please tell me someone dies or at least gets run over and ends up in a wheelchair, ANYTHING to take this fic out of the doldrums....

A couple of pages back someone said men peak too early. After 24 years of marriage, I don't agree with that statement. I can remember when we got married and hubs was 23, he would be lucky to last 5 min and that's if I never even choked the chicken. Hell, he'd be done before I ever got up to bat. Now knocking on 50's door, the man exhausts me. He isn't satisfied unless I have at least 1 or 2 before we ever even start (no matter how long it takes). Then another 1 or 2 before he finishes. He actually loves to utilize toys too, so thank gawd he is not home during the week. I need my rest!

Hubs isn't a personal trainer but he lifts 3 times a week, and runs 2. My only workout..... Well.... is hubs.  :D
He usually tells me that he did his special abdominal exercises. The ones to make sure his thrusts and gyrating don't tire out.  :o

So for the younger crowd, don't give up hope. After 25 years, we have finally found most of the triggers that send us to defcon 5. But you both have to be vocal on what works and be willing to experiment. He lasts for quite awhile now and has the patience and tolerance to make sure I have many before he reaches his. Heck he asks about once a month if in all my reading have I read something I would like to try. Sometimes that answer is "come here boy and follow my lead"  :)

But noooooooo. There is no complaints here.

That may have have been tmi. But I think we passed that point over a year ago.  :-*

RDM, I flove ya; not TMI at all. Its good to know that after such a long established relationship you can see sparks...the problem I'll have not having married yet, is if I find The One now, and then have to wait 24 years to get him up to speed, well, I'm not sure there will still be fan fiction for us to try out! Or that I wouldn't have worn out my lady parts with all my toys  :D :D :D, Ohhhh, is that TMI?  :o

Sorry, Demaris, I read it and liked it.  Edward and Bella are a little irritating at the beginning, but I frequently feel that way.  It does take their relationship a little while to develop.

I want it once a day!

The difference is we don't have a choice. Hubs travels the world. He is home most weekends, but sometimes he is gone 2 weeks or so like heading to brazil in a month. Those times he gets home, it's pretty carnal. After the 3-4 times in a row, he will wip out those little pills the doctor gave him to try. He wiggles his eyebrows and I moan cause there will be no sleeping for me and my hips and my whoha will be talking to me for days.

I knew I had always been flexible and did gymnastics growing up. When a physical therapist diagnosed me hypermobile a few years back, hubs likes to still see if I can get in some positions. I can even at my age, but my joints talk to me later.

So my life is work M-F (12-14 hr days) and come home to f*ck 2-3 days. Then the week is over. I am only getting to chat now cause hubs fell asleep in the recliner after barely letting me in house before stripping me.

Yes I consider myself lucky. Most get divorced these days, and hubs and I are probably closer now than in the past. Relationships are cyclical. There were times we weren't as close and now all the children are gone, we have time to re-explore each other. I can say reading ff has helped me a lot too over the years. I mean if you have never tried something, how do you know how it will effect you? Reading lets me know when I start twitching its time to try.  :)

Well, there are threats and incidents, but pattyrose tends to stay a little closer to the realm of "possible" than many fanfic writers.

I could not agree more. I've been married for just about the same number of years and the best thing you wrote is ..you both have to be vocal and willing to experiment. I am from that sheltered, s.e.x is not to be discussed only endured background and let me tell you it was tough going until we were open and honest with each other. Now, after three grown boys, we are having the best time of our lives. At this stage in our marriage we are willing to do more, try harder to make things work. I just have to remember to spend less time on my iPad, he gets pissy.

Ok, let me dream bigger, a w/e..no....a night...ok maybe a couple of hours alone with The Pretty. I'd...I'd....idk but I know I'd do something. Lol..pass out probably.

Same here.  Actually, my hubs would like it once a day but all the meds he takes make it so that doesn't happen.  Bad genes, unfortunately.  So if I'm lucky, I get it once a week.  If I really lucky and work hasn't been too tiring. I get more :)

This sounds like me with EP.  I put it aside and found I could read other stuff.  I'll get back to it.  Only because everyone tells me I have to read it.

But really? I think it may be like reading Torn or Wisp in one go.  Just not a good thing.

So maybe take a break?  And come back?  Pretend it's a WIP?  I remember it was very popular as a WIP.   ;D

My current faves are Aussieward from You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login and Constructionward from You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login. I like realistic, working class Edwards - ones that don't have kazillions of dollars in the bank, actually have to work...and are good with their hands.  ;) I also really like Dilfward from You are not allowed to view links. Do I remember you saying that this Aussieward is even better than Jack Henry from Beauty From Pain?

RL books? I have 3 words for you, The Bronze Horseman, buy, borrow or pirate *coughAstrocough* now and READ!
Demaris you always have the best recommendations...   I bought the first book when it was on a hot deal a while back and I have never gotten around to reading them.  Aren't they centered around a really depressing war environment or something?   I am scared to invest so much time for it to end up non-HEA.  ;-)
