  • Hi! I'm Ellachanted and I'm a fanfic-oholic.
Thread #4 - We are crazy talkers here!

ADULT DISCUSSION HERE, SO TRY TO KEEP IT CLEAN! UM NO, WAIT! IF YOU ARE EASILY OFFENDED, LOOK AWAY NOW!

This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general.  But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, so please play nice

Because we know drypen's watching

Loopy doesn't need 6 weeks to recover.

Maybe 6 minutes, if memory serves?  ;)

I should warn you, Yoga Queen, that boxing is my workout of choice.

Well - I would choose a workout my like RDMickey's but those aren't an option at the moment.

Yep - I have fire in my belly!!!

I will pinch.

And bite.

And pull hair!

More like 60 minutes hun.  :P :D
Are you talking about fighting or what you would do in the bedroom.  :P

Lol, probably been sharing too much at times - I definitely inherited my Mums lack of filter.  :P
I can give you all of my hubby's stats if you want.  ;) :D
He has 9 brothers - he's the 3rd youngest, he turned 25 in June so yes, he's younger than me. :PAt least Mac 'n' Cheese would be made!!!  :DLike I've said before I got with him while he was a teenager (18) and "trained" him well.  :P
Loopy you are now my heroine! I love the ' trained' him part of your post...I want to find a guy to  'train' to my exact requirements, Hey!  Someone should start up a  new business!

Everytime someone mentions this, I think back to the vid from years ago. I am sure I have shared it, but I must again. It is by Kiyaraven.

I'm glad you're liking it Kimkimkim, (I was going to shorten your tag as I do FanFicGirl and RDMickey but it...just looked, no, couldn't do it )

The environment makes for the most heartfelt, unforgettable love story you'll read in a long time, trust me have I ever steered you wrong?  But here is what I want to know, if you worry about the end of a story ( HEA, Non HEA) before you even start doesn't it limit your immersion into the tale?

Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.
I LOVE these books...I have read a lot in books in my time but very few have touched me like these; I'm petrified because there is always talk of a film being made and the thought makes me feel nauseous.

EDIT: Shit, just writing that makes me want to go back and re-read these books again, shoot! And I only have This is Who I Am to try and hold my wondering attention, it stands no chance!.... :D
Thank you! Thank you!  And yes, you're right about the fact that I don't really need to know if it is HEA vs nonHEA...  It does change the way you go into the book.    I didn't read your spoiler so that I can read it as it was meant to be read.  And correct, your recommendations have all been excellent so far so I don't think you'd steer me wrong!    I can't wait to read this series now...    I've also been wanting to start A Game of Thrones and it is also huge so I need to decide which one I'm more in the mood for.    I just need a change of pace from all the "real books" I've been reading lately...    I recently read Collide & Pulse by Gail McHugh and it just sort of left me feeling "blah" about the whole genre.      Maybe The Bronze Horseman is just what I need to refresh my love for romance books!

I mentioned that I'm reading And With Thee Fade Away currently and it is SO good.   It's one of those fics that is just so good I want to pretend I'm going to the grocery store and just go sit in the parking lot and read so I can have some quiet time away from the family.  Should I feel guilty for admitting that on a public forum?   Well, I do, but just a little!  (you guys know I love the family more than the books, right?   :D )

I got married late & my husband, although younger than me, was already fairly set in his ways.  He is not very trainable.

I think you have to get one in his late teens, early twenties. to properly train him. And if his mother spoiled him, forget it...

And I'm laughing because for some reason the two tags I see associated with this thread (at the bottom) are #olderEdward and #pregnantBella.      :D   Where do these tags come from?

Wasn't there a fanfic where Bella worked for a company that makes these things?  I don't think it ever completed though.  I remember watching it for a while.   :P

I really wanted to order one.  I guess I could hide it in my closet.... ;D

That would work really well for some fics.  Grab your stomach and moan....  then when they hear you moaning because of the lemons? They will think you are in pain from your stomach virus.   :D :D :D :D

I can't remember if there are any big lemons in AWTFA.  It was a great story though.  Took me forever to read it because I thought it was something else.  There were a lot of Twilight redo's that basically just added lemons. I thought AWTFA was going to be one of those.  It wasn't.  It was really good.  ;D

Kimkimkim! Blooming eck you don't hal' pick em girl, ( you  need to read that with a London cockney accent, which I can only write and not actually speak in)......where do I start, Games of Thrones....I want to say READ! But, and there is a big BUT. I did that, when it first started showing on TV,  I ploughed through 4 books in, well let's just say I didn't sleep for a over a week, (thank god for Kindle, from store to device in 60 sec) got to the end of the 4th book, A Feast of Crows, went back onto Amazon to buy for the 5th and came to a screeching halt! Book five had  not been released yet and was not due for release for another 6, or so, months and it had taken 5 years to get to that date...Now considering there are still two more books outstanding and George R.R.Martin is 64...I'm sure you can see where I'm going with this. As much as I want to say 'go ahead lady, read this amazing series' because, don't get me wrong, it is fantastic on a grand scale, I wouldn't want anyone else to get caught up in this holding pattern I am currently in, having read all five book out so far but may never see the end of this epic adventure....

I'm glad your enjoying AWTFA, it's really is good!

BTW there wasn't a plot under my THB spoiler, just me rambling about my experience with the series....I was on here practically alone last night (GMT)

I did read The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan.  I was so upset when he died without finishing.  I haven't read the books that his son is writing with help from another author, but it's the only closure I'm going to get, so I'm sure I'll break down and read them.

Ah, yes, the Red Wedding...I'll say that previous season sticks very closely to the books, ( which is why I think it's such a success) but I've not watched the latest season yet so haven't seen in RL what my imagination conjured up.  :o

I'm a little depressed. I feel like all I have been doing lately is reading, and when I come on here, there are more recs! Since I trust your opinions, this means more books and series to add to my TBR. I feel like I'll never make a dent. I've been hording fics and RL books left and right. I doubt I'll ever read as many as I already have, and I know I'll just be adding more in the days to come... Sorry, I think I'm just having one of those days. Probably need to order that Diva cup I've been meaning to. *sigh*

Ella, that made me laugh!  And when you mentioned moaning I remembered the whole "millimeters millimeters millimeters" thing and now I can't stop laughing.   I told my husband about the book reader doing that and he thought it was hilarious too.
