This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general. But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

I remember reading a summary very similar to this where the character was called Cruise - weird that it has only completed today.

During my absence I've read Gabriel's inferno and Gabriel's rapture.....I was again in love with this story
He's got lots of qualities that the man of my dreams should have!

No this was Sebastien Robichaud's The University of Edward Masen. I can't wait for Gabriel’s Redemption to come out so I can read the new stuff that was added.

Kill me now. It's 10 pm and i just got back from our company sportsfest. Left home at 6 am. Playing basketball after all these years almost gave me a heart attack. Playing against 20 somethings, even for 2 short quarters, sure is a pain in the a**. The cramps on my legs while playing is now back in force. $:-\$ Oh my aching bones are soooooo reminding me of my advanced age.

I had a much less dramatic hit with reality yesterday. I got a splinter that hurt like a b!tch. When I pulled it out, I saw it was all of 2mm in length. I thought about all the damage I've been reading about in fanfictions (recently read drotuno's Blood & Glory, so I hear you!) and realized what a wuss I am. Forget being shot, I can't even handle a wooden splinter in the middle of my foot.

I know what you mean. I'm struggling with a teeny tiny kidney stone at the moment and that hurts so much I could cry the whole day... I hope it's out soon... $:-\$

On another note, my little boy has a chesty cough at the moment. He has just informed me that when he coughs it is like there is snot in his throat - lovely!

Chesty things are the worst, and little boys seem to delight in them! My 3 year old nephew has had a nasty cold for the last few weeks. My mum and my SIL have told me that he has a fascination with checking out the colour of everything he coughs up or when he blows his nose!

For once, I am so glad that I live 700km away - I can't handle snot!

This actually just completed today (and it is marked complete)!

My mission for today (I have another week of holidays so I'm still taking it easy) - to do a load of washing and to flagfic everything on my watch list that has completed in the last month, or is a new rec of a completed fic. I looks like I will be adding about 100 new fics to my TBR list.

I started Grasping Darkness on Friday night. I read the first 2 chapters but when I saw that it was 900 pages

Gabriel is definitely swoon-worthy! I want to reread them so much, but am trying to hold out until December. I think I might actually take off work so I can read for 3 days straight! LOL

Thanks for the reply. I had a look at people top ten lists and found I have read most of them myself.
What I really need are some underappreciated or obscure fics that I may not have found or read.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated I am in a funk and need out

I have been reading Seducing Cinderella by Gina L. Maxwell (book)

I am enjoying it so far - I wasn't too sure as it is based on a cage fighter but, that hasn't really had too much of an impact on the story. It is lemony but, well writtenugh at the moment. He has just informed me that when he coughs it is like there is snot in his throat - lovely!

I REALLY REALLY liked this story! Post back and let us know what you think when you finish... I LOVED the ending!

No truer words were ever spoken! Woke up this morning and i could barely stand or move my legs. Hurts like a b*tch!

Except for my legs refusing to work, am otherwise none the worse for wear.

Looking back, i had fun despite the suffering. Am determined to do it again next year, if called upon, but will be better prepared.

Why do authors do this? Doesn't she know EP is already long enough and she's going to add another book. WTF .

I don't think I've read a book that was ff and then it was published, except Lingus (I love Mr. North) and that one because the story was already published.

I tried to read UoEM, but I just couldn't get into it. I thought maybe because it was in third person. But I just wasn't liking Edward or Bella. Granted I didn't make it past the second chapter, if I remember correctly. Maybe someday I will try it again. And maybe not....

I haven't read Sempre either but I have read EP two times.

Once as a WIP and then again when it was all complete, and I think I will read it again but I just need to convert it to MOBI, I have it in pdf and last time I read it on my computer and I think it took me a month or so because I couldn't stand to read to much. But I don't like that there will be a continuation to something that I really like. It feels wrong.

Just finished tufano79's Edward Cullen: A Work in Progress. It was good, but not for the faint of heart. The prologue starts with Edward interrupting a rape so you know this is going to be heavy. Strong themes with drugs and sexual assault. It's a journey that I was engaged in the whole way through. Lately, I've been skimming/flouncing epilogue's, but I happily read this and its HEA. It worked. If you can deal with the themes mentioned, I recommend. Believe it or not, this tattward story isn't too angst-ridden, just enough to keep one engaged. (Oh, and SPaGs throughout, but easily overlooked).

I'd say a good album of theirs to start with is Only Revolutions. It's probably the most mainstream album of theirs and there are plenty of songs on there you can sing along with.
So it's probably a good one to start with.

Loopy-- thanks for telling us how you love grungy looking guys and posting that picture of Simon Neil. Your rec was great-- am really enjoying Only Revolutions. I love the entire album but my favs are Born on a Horse, Shock Shock and Many of Horrors.
