So I was reading Bonne Foi by Amethyst Jackson and it was going well. It was a mostly well written story and the lemons didn't annoy me. But then *spoiler alert*

It's really weird how one small thing that seems to have to occur in a vampire story just annoyed me. I guess because the story had been fairly AU as far as the storyline went. Then suddenly we were back in SM's story doing the same thing as every one else.

Edward is a CEO who runs away from the mess his life has become. Bella lives on an island without much communication with the outside world with her daughter. The story really starts three years later when the outside world finds him again. It was a quick read. Something different. 

What is everyone else reading?

I'm immersed in oldies.  I'm reading Illegal Contact by GreeneyedGirl17, Decoy by 107yearoldvirgin and I just finished re-reading Master of the Universe (although I'm still reading outtakes).  Plus I have several WIPs I follow, but I won't mention them until they complete since so many of you have WIPhobia.

I started And Then There Was You  but didn't make it passed the first chapter. I know everyone seems to like it. But if I'm going to read abuse it's got to be, I want to say believable, but that's probably not the right word.  It made me think it was written by a whiny teenager. I really have to be in the mood for what twific authors call angst to read it I guess. It probably didn't help that I tried reading it after reading Cris's As Children at Play. She does angst so well.
 
So, back to the search I guess.  On FB, one of the ladies who I believe is on mostly bedrest due to a difficult pregnancy has been doing lists of recs by subject. She pulls a category out of a hat and everyone responds. I've found some good stories that way. (And some bad)  I'll let you know if anything good pops up. 

I'm reading the Cockyback sequel, too.  And I'm following several WIPs by LyricalKris.  Plus The Bull Rider by Edward'sEternal and the new jonesn story, Clallam.

Thanks, I will check them out. EdwardsEternal writes well, but I tend to have problems with her character descriptions. Bella does not have big blue eyes. Though if Edward has green eyes and wild bronze colored hair, I can deal.  I just started Volunteer 13 and Bella has blue eyes again. Sigh.

I don't think I have read too many LyricalKris. She does a lot of non B/E right?  That's the only reason I can think of as to why I keep moving her stories down the TBR list. 

I'm in a reading rut [emoji19] the fic I'm reading I REALLY REALLY want to finish but I just can't seem to pick up my phone to read it.

What is everyone else reading?

Have you tried to pick up a one shot? Sometimes it helps to step away shortly and come back to it.
