Okay, wow. Some of those lines/thoughts are serial killer creepy. Booked, you will have to tell us what you think. This just sounds bad. Good Luck! And? Edward went to Newton's Outfitters and bought pants and a map. No cable ties, masking tape, rope and coveralls. All Christian was missing was the cleaver and garbage bags. Well, I think if I do ever read it? Skipping to book two. Now I will say the woman who is commenting as she is reading only read the first 2 chapters and did not like FSOG.
Well, am enjoying it so far. it really shows you what he was doing while things were going on with Ana in FSOG. Like the time Ana drunk dialed him, then what he and Elliot did to pass time before whisking her away in Charlie Tango to Escala on their first date. yeah, I'm a goner/sucker for these 2 characters.Again, am not into BDSM but i do like alpha males in my books. What EL James has written is no longer "shocking" or "terrible" to me. I've come to understand this is how these guys think and just accept it. So, pardon me for being a freak and disagreeing with the reader's comment, but i found this line hot:"Absentmindedly, she wipes a crumb from the corner of her lips and into her mouth and sucks on her finger. My cock twitches in response." And,this to me is sweet and funny which makes him adorable despite his ways:Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents. It's how Christian and Ana are! I just feel sad some people diss her writing or the story. If you do decide to read something, just enjoy, go with the flow, escape and not over analyze. This is why i read books. I don't read something to tear it apart. In the end, I just hope i enjoy it and won't feel i wasted my time. With what I've read so far, i have a feeling Grey will be something i will enjoy. Well, you can't please everyone, to each their own yada yada yada.
Is anyone here planning to actually read Grey? I find it funny that day one, stores already have half off stickers on all the copies!
She did only read the first 2 chapters. I don't think he really started changing until he started spending more time with her. I'm also sure EL James doesn't actually know how a Dom thinks LOL. She may have gone a little overboard. My problem is I'm not into the BDSM stories. I don't mind some kinky stuff. And really, this wasn't a BDSM story - which is probably why I liked it. And I do like that line. "Make free and easy conversation to a woman I'm attracted to...." I'm thinking it will get better. Still would prefer the Edward version though.
Lol this really made me laugh, especially the "pin the pad on the period" game. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
I'm with Booked, I really liked Christian & Ana's story despite EL not being the best writer, but I've read the original trilogy a few times and MOTU several times as well. I will be reading Grey (obvs) just need to read the few ARCs that have been on my iPad for a week or so first. I know I dissed the movie before it came out, as I was expecting it to be craptastic and I freely admit I was proved wrong by that. So I'm hoping that the book is a lot better than what I've heard, but like Booked said each to their own. Lol, that's like asking SM to release Midnight Sun.
My husband read a You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login on posted on reddit that called Grey "As arousing as the diary of a sex offender" and "Mr Darcy in nipple clamps", your creepy serial killer comment made me think of it. The review was most likely not written by someone who has enjoyed the books (freudian slip I almost just typed boys).
I would be interested to see if it improves once it gets past that initial part where he thinks he can only have a Dom/Sub relationship with a woman.
I remember when I first heard that SM's manuscript Midnight Sun, E's pov on Twilight i searched everywhere till I found it. I had to read it because I was caught up in Twilight and anything B&E I just had to read. A lot of people feel the same way about Christian and Ana. It's FF on a major scale ....lolI have read Grey, and I agree with Booked, go with the flow. The book is an enjoyable read. Dissecting each chapter like it's required reading for your lit. class, trying to find hidden meaning in each line is a useless exercise. She is a FF writer people....or was. Enough said. One thing I will say is that I think that it's funny that writers say that their fans always beg them for a book about a follow up of some character or story....whatever....if you read Grey it reads like it was wriiten along side Fsog....little things left out of the first...like Christian's tie in his pocket when he visits Ana....(you'll have to read it to know what I'm talking about) makes it clear why there as so much "grey" areas in the first book. She fully intended to write Grey to explain away all the innuendos. I bet we'll read about when they visit his mother's grave. Remember that was almost an aside in Fsog. Anyways people if you enjoyed MotU/Fsog Like I did, Grey is required reading....lol. How can you not want to know what Fifty was feeling/thinking.Bedtime for me now, I worked overnight last night and I am pooped. Forgive me if the above sounds garbled...I'm tired and half asleep.Have a good weekend y'all.
As I said, I think once you get passed the beginning with all the D/S thoughts, I think it will be a very interesting story to see how he is dealing all the changes....But thanks for letting us know it does get better. And? Maybe all the serial killer thoughts are EL's idea of humor?
I'm pretty sure I remember book Christian buying the cable ties, tape, and rope, but I don't remember coveralls. That's totally serial killer MO, lol!
Which is why I'm more interested in the second part of the story, once Christian isn't thinking quite so much like a controlling stalker type! Has there been any word yet on if she's gonna do the whole series in his POV, or just this one?
