I'm reading 3-4 WIPs by LyricalKris [Little Dreamer, Fly Away Home, By Proxy, and Long Distance], plus I've read 3 out of the last 4 that she completed (skipping Trouble since M/M doesn't do it for me).  I've really liked everything I've read and eventually I want to go back and read the E/B fic she wrote earlier, but I'm afraid if I read too much at once of the same author, I'll burn out on their style.  And she's written SO much!
She does write a lot. I am reading her By Proxy but it is slow to update. I think I'm down to 3 no, 4 WIPs. I keep forgetting Torn. Milk Money by Nocturnal Emissions and of course Nolebucgrl's sequel whose name I'm blanking on.  I thought there was another, but I think they all finished.

So I read Contractually Bound by LyricalKris. Really sad in parts. Bella did a stupid thing when she was 17 that messed up both Edward's and her lives. Edward forces her to pretend to be engaged to him to make Esme happy.  There is an HEA. I thought it would be more humorous but it was angsty.

I've read this too... I liked it! I felt the same way. I wasn't expecting it to be sad, but it has a turnaround. :)

So... I met Wyck Godfrey at the Twilight Storytellers screening... Yeah, I fangirled :) He took a photo with me and signed my book. He's exactly how i thought he would be! Super sweet, funny, nice.. Also took a million selfies with the cast and director of "We've Met Before" :)

Definitely gave me the Twilight bug again :)

I used to have a Puffball.  She was a cutie.  Unfortunately, the area I lived in wasn't good for outdoor cats and she disappeared one day.  :(

This is probably why I have multiple cats at a time.  It is not as hard when one goes....  Also why my cats aren't allowed outside anymore....
We had a cat like that, I didn't think much as he would just go off into a field for a day or two at a time (I'm sure one of our neighbours was feeding him as well) but he after a week or so we realised that he wasn't coming back.  :(

I've gotta agree hun, I think that's why we have more than one cat as it kind of softens the blow, we try to keep them in as much as possible  but that's easier said than done.
I swear they're harder work than the kids sometimes.  :D
You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
Well if you let kids pick the names, you end up with names like Kitten Player and Tip Tail.  Those were my cats that I named as a 5 year old.

And maybe there is a reason your "p0rn name" is the name of your first pet and first street.  My first pet was a guinea pig named Gin-gin (or I'm not actually sure how its spelled since I was 3, it is not pronounced like the alcohol).
Lol, I got my first kitten when I was 5 or 6 and named her Foo-Foo, the poor thing. I insisted that my dad call her in every night so we could sleep together, the poor guy.  :D :D

At least when I let my daughter name our Great Dane she named him Peppermint, so that's not so bad but it really does make a great p0rn star name.  :D

Talking of Lyricalkris, I've just finished reading Nightmare Before Christmas - such a good story, but a difficult read cos of the subject matter. I was a wreck by the end of it. Well, worth a read if you fancy a good cry.  :P
Then again, I'll read pretty much anything by Lyrical as she is so good.

Re: problems with converting pdf to epub

If this isn't the right place to post this, I'm sorry...

I have a lot of fics in pdf form and as I'm converting them using calibre I find that some don't come out properly. (these are fics no longer available on line)

Examples
Missing L's: Bella - Bel a

Sentence breaks: The rain in Spain, stays mainly on the plain. - The rain in Spain,
                                                                                             stays mainly on the plain.

I have tried converting them to pdf again, using another converting program... I even converted one into a word doc to manually change it and even though it was a HUGE pain in my a** and very time consuming, it still didn't work  :'(
Is there anyway to fix this problem. While I'm ok on a computer I'm not overly tech savvy so any help needs to be dumbed down please  :-*

Some of the older pdfs just don't convert because they are actually "pictures" of the story rather than computer generated pdfs.  You might check Ellachanted's google docs to see if she has them already in mobi.  I think Matron also has a link in her profile for her library.  Then you can just save a copy and save yourself some work.

I have found a few in Ella's docs that I can convert but some others are the same copies I have...
((I'll try Matron's - no luck finding the link))

Thanks xx

The dropped l's is a known problem. Usually from Storymaster created PDFs. I am not sure how to fix it.  The other problem is somewhat fixable using Calibre.  When you convert, there's a heuristic option - check the box with Enable heuristic processing. I usually have the other boxes checked. That helps with removing the hard line breaks that Adobe puts in PDF docs.

It doesn't fix everything but gets most. Someday I will have time to play with it more and figure out how to fix the other problem. :P

I have that in my library. Will move it up. Am about to start Prick....

Btw, just watched Ant Man and it was good. Funny and action packed. I was sooo tempted to watch Magic Mike but no amount of arm twisting would convince my husband to watch it.  ;D
What did/do you think of Prick hun, I have to admit that the first few chapters I kept reading Caulter's name wrong as if you change a letter in it, it's the hubby's name which would of made the book just weird for me.  :D

I've tried convincing the hubby to watch MM XXL with me but he says that would result in an instant divorce as he draws the line at watching the first one and FSoG.  :P :P
I really wanna watch Ant Man, I'm sure the hubby will be willing to watch that as it's Marvel.  :P

So Amazon had Prime Day.  As far as I could tell, there wasn't much I was interested in.  Except?  I broke down and got the BluRay/DVD edition of FSoG for about $13.  Knowing me? I'll forget to watch it.   ;)

My husband is the movie buff in the family.  And he mostly watches SciFi and action movies.  And Godzilla. Anything Godzilla.  I've grown to appreciate the humor of them.  I think they must be made very tongue in cheek as Tokyo always gets destroyed.  Along with half the country. And the old ones? So hilarious with the lips moving, then a totally unrelated voice saying something. Godzilla mostly reminds me of a temperamental 3 year old having a tantrum.   :D :D :D :D

Yeah, I've watched too many of them.  :P

There's the link to my drive FF folder, dunno why I took it out of my sig! Must have forgot to put it back in last time I changed it.

ETA: I have found mobipocket creator to get some of the best results when converting PDFs, but even that has some goof ups sometimes.

I finished Prick and it was soso.....I think I expected a little more...more of what I'm not sure.

I also read Ricochet by Keri Lake and it was good. Dark and full of intrigue and suspense and just enough lemons to keep you satisfied. Like Ella said, a little lemon with the plot.
I'm in the middle of Something's gotta give by Ericastwilight and that's also really good.

Ella, you should watch fifty, it wasn't that bad...right Booked?!??

Goodnight all, going to have dreams of SoA, sorry, I know y'all are sick of that by now but I can't stop....shite, now I sound like Miley Cyrus.

I liked Prick. It was a fun and easy read. That's why i also finished Tool and am now reading Canon.  :) being a serial reader kicked in  :P

You'll enjoy Ant Man! My hubby watched it again with our kids today while i had to attend a seminar (working on a saturday sucks). My kids really liked it and was the first thing they talked to me about when i got home.

Of course FSOG was worth it for me ;) so ella, take the plunge  :)

If it's something i really like, I would definitely make the effort to go fangirl about it.  :D There was this taiwanese boyband, F4, who i watched 2 times (2 diff. years, 11-12 yrs ago). I don't understand a single word of what they're singing but i would sing along phonetically to their album.  :P First time i saw them, i took a half day leave from work so i can line up. Of course my officemate went there at 7am (she was a bit more fanatic than i was  :D) so she saved me a spot and we were about the first 200 in line for our seat section. The show began at 8pm...yeah, crazy, i know. the tickets were expensive even for the balcony and it was first come first served so....

The next year, it was at a much much bigger venue and the seats were numbered. It was thankfully a Saturday so I didn't have to miss work and i just went 1 hour before the show.  :)

Now if Rob came over here, you bet your sweet cheeks i would line up for that  :P :D :D I would even find out his hotel and maybe "camp out" in the lobby just to catch a glimpse of him.  :D :D At my age, i would already pass on lining up at the airport   :-\ :P

Glad you liked Pricked. I've still not got around to reading Canon, that's definitely going to be my next read as I'm going to need some sexy times after OD'ing on YA.
I decided I wanted to read book 13 of The Morganville Vampire series but couldn't really remember what happened in the last book as I read it a few years ago, so I've stupidly started re-reading the series from the beginning as there's a story thread that goes through all the books. ^-^
This is the bad side of being a serial reader.  :D

I can tell you hun after literally just finished re-reading (for the umpteenth time) both the FF and published versions that the sex isn't explicit at all in Dusty. I love that you've put it on you Mum's Kindle, I've tried to get my Mum to read it many times and her latest excuses is that the tattoos of the quotes I got from Dusty (got them last week) have put her off slightly.  :P ;D
