Thread #7 - We are crazy talkers here! Join in the fun!

ADULT DISCUSSION HERE, SO TRY TO KEEP IT CLEAN! UM NO, WAIT! IF YOU ARE EASILY OFFENDED, LOOK AWAY NOW!

This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general.  But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, so please play nice

Because we know drypen's watching

Except for being effen cold, the weather is fine.  I went out front in a short sleeved top to pick up the mail and discovered to my surprise that it felt like it was about 30 degrees.  The hurricane went out to sea the east of us as predicted by the meteorologists.   I've been reading fanfic - not Twilight however - Bonanza fic on Bonanza Brand.  Will be watching Bonanza at 2:00 pm.  Calling my mother after I get off here to touch base with her and then trying to read more of Her Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty.  It's boring but until I get a couple of questions answered, I'm sticking with it and then its going back to the friend who loaned it to me.  That's basically it for me today - other than at some point I'm ordering take-out/delivery from Stavros Pizzaria and Deli because I haven't been to the grocery store and don't plan on going today because I don't wanna go - pure and simple (Not pizza however ).   Oh and Tricklem - thanks for the book rec. on crocheting - it happens to be one of the ones I was thinking about ordering off Amazon.  I've been meaning to learn how for a couple of years - I have the hook and the yarn but need to learn how.   I know how to knit but decided to branch out.

Michangelina - watch the watch - it can turn into a warning at any time.  We had 6 inches of rain about 3 days ago and the whole state was under flood warnings - well deserved at this point.   Several areas of Portland got flooded out - Marginal Way wasn't really a surprise but hearing that they had to shut down Whole Foods because it got flooded out was.   I was watching assorted reporters standing in knee deep water and thinking "glad I'm not out there right now".

I'm reading Tight by Alessandra Torre... Its good

Another effing hot a** day in Southern Calif. I'm am *beyond* over it! Snow and rain sound like heaven
Poop...

I am anti winter and anti cold. I hate them. Unfortunately I live in Calgary Alberta and we put up with both the cold and snow every year. There are places in Canada I could move to that don't have to put with as much of the wet, cold white stuff, but I can't afford to live there. I can take the heat easily. We need to send you some of my cold and snow and you can give me some of that Southern Cali heat..... :D :D :D

A flood watch? That isn't good. Calgary Alberta had a huge flood back in 2013 and that was scary. I will keep my fingers crossed for you that nothing happens.

I know how to knit as well, but once I learned to crochet, I switched over. I find crocheting faster that knitting and I can do more with it. Good luck.

  • Hi! I'm Ellachanted and I'm a fanfic-oholic.
We are having nice weather today. Highs in the mid 80's. My husband dragged me out to a yard sale that was supposed to have tools.  Waste of time, just junk and some furniture that was already sold. So we stopped at a bigger one up the street. I found an interesting hat. And there was a wonderful old piano. But my husband wouldn't let me get it.  Otherwise, mostly junk.  I have enough junk of my own.  Don't really need more.

We lost our TV connection Thursday during Grey's Anatomy.  They are sending us a new power supply thingy, but it hasn't arrived yet.  Fortunately, I can watch some things online.

So I'm reading RandomCran's EXPOSURE. Not sure why it is in all caps LOL!  It starts out with Esme and Carlisle. Third person writing which I am surprisingly not minding too much. Carlisle is an ass. They are both actors. Bella is their publicist. But it really suckered me in. I ended up staying up really late  (for me) reading it.  ;D

Good luck with the flooding. Hope it doesn't happen where you are.   :-*

I love Actorward. But so many of them are so badly written,  I can barely finish them.  This one doesn't really have B/E as the main focus of the story. But it flows really well.  Not too many lemons but we'll written.  ;D

I agree if a story is good I'm on board but I won't lie I usually read more B/E stories .. I wish I could explain .. But that's the couple that had me reading these books.. So yeah.. That's my logic  :-*

Heres my other big secret I kind of miss the excitement that came along with the twilight movies .. They seemed to be so many fan fictions from it.. I have a very hard time letting go  :o

I know what you mean.  There really isn't the excitement that there used to be.   Every so often, a really good story comes out or someone comes back and finishes a story we've all given up on.

It is getting more B/E.  Because it is 3rd person writing, the writer knows what's going on in everyone's head.  So it's like changing POV's constantly.

But technically it is a B/E story.   ;D

I know what you mean the pickings is slim and honestly I kind of knew it wouldn't last forever but I'm not going to lie I miss it a lot .. And I end up reading over the ones I love over and over again until I just can't read it for a while.. Like I said I have a very hard time letting go..

Maybe we will get lucky and the 10th anniversary re-release of the first book will spark some new interest and ff writers.
