what are the published titles? can you put a Goodreads link if available, please?
Thanks

I try not to remember, specially if the mistakes were not too glaring. You know how they sometimes use the wrong preposition? Worst is if they forgot to put one at all. Kristen Ashley does it sometimes, Abbi Glines too. But their writing and stories are so great for me, i totally forget and forgive it.

It's those that i got sucked in bec of the summary or rating in goodreads. I, in all conscience, don't want to give any writer, published or not, a bad rating or negative comment. So i rarely give a 2 star. 3 is my norm so that really means it's not a waste of time but am never gonna read it again.

  • Hi! I'm Ellachanted and I'm a fanfic-oholic.
I'm trying to read A Life Extraordinary by LolaShoes.  This series is always at the top of everyone's vampward list for some reason.  But the lemons are driving me crazy.  I guess if I read this after reading Breaking Dawn? Maybe I would like it.

Nah, probably not.  I do like the writing and the little story in between the lemons is good.  But I'm really skimming and only 12% in.... 2 pages of story for every 12 of lemons. :P

FFG! I am surprised...but as I'm totally crushing on you I can't be mad.  :D

I've been in a crappy mood the last few days so the sweet PM I got from a newbie, learning that you're crushing on me, and 2amlovesick's sympathetic ear helped to lighten my mood today.  Thanks!

Here in the US we celebrate Mother's Day on Sunday, May 11.  While I might be grumpy on the day due to my husband being unexpectedly stupid (long story and I blame his Y chromosome), I hope all you other mothers have a great day!

PS for anyone that rereads stories, have you ever read something a second time and wondered how in the world you made it through the first time? I'm going through something right now and wondering why I didn't realize it was so poorly written.

Yes, that's happened a few times.  Usually when I read as a WIP the first time. Sometimes as a WIP, the SPaGs don't seem to be so bad.  But when you read the whole story at once, those few SPaGs every chapter suddenly become a lot of SPaGs all over the place. And then sometimes the story just doesn't flow as well without a week or six in between to allow you to forget.  LOL!

But I couldn't tell you now which they were.   ;D

It happened just recently with me with Colliding Meteors (non-canon, yeah yeah yeah), I loved if the first time around, the second time I stopped before I was halfway in, because every little thing was sticking out at me and it made me crazy.

Ok, just want to share. For a big old girl like me (literally), to have random FOREIGN guys send me a friend request on my real facebook, i am a bit flattered but also a little creeped out. How do they even know me when we have no mutual friends and my setting is "friends only"?

"Hi, you seem like a good person and i'd like to get to know you better. Hope we can be friends."
Errr, no.  ;D

Have to admit, i am attracted and tend to look at foreigners (americans, europeans) roaming the streets (i work in the business district where most foreigners/expats stay/work). Tempting to have male foreign friends but unless i know you from work or via a relative, i will not ask you to be a friend nor will i accept your friend request. My status is Married, dumbass!!! But hey, thanks for making me feel good about myself.  ;D :P

End of rant... Coz i very well can't post that in FB or answer their message  ;D

Thanks for lending me your ears.  :-*

Lol. You can definitely adopt my Mum hun especially after tonight.  ::) ::)
So we went to see Frank and I friggin loved it. It's a pretty dark comedy, Maggie G is pretty damn decent in it but Fassy certainly stole the show even though he doesn't take the head off.  :(
If Fassy decides to quit making movies to make sweet music  :P :P I would definitely be at the front of the line to buy his album as has such a great voice even a paper mache head.  :D :D
Oh btw, it's "inspired" and based on the memories Jon Ronson has of Frank Sidebottom, so probably not the film for you Mrs Fassy.  :(
To make up for that sad fact here's some pretty pics for you  :-* :-*

I might go and watch it anyway..Sidebottom or not. I wanna hear Fassy sing!

I'd gladly show you if ever you visit my country  :)

See, the 4-5 star hotels are around the business district, near the classy malls. My route going home passes through the heart of it, where you either see handsome looking foreigners wearing suits (ridiculous for our weather) or jeans/cargo pants. Suits: defintely here on business. Jeans: tourist. So i literally see them roaming around (ok, walking). But at night they go prowling, you know what that means. When i see them along the sidewalks or crossing the street, my eyes zero in on those very tall, white/tanned guys that don't belong with the usual pedestrian crowd.  ;D  I would even tell my husband "hey, that guy's handsome!". He just smirks at me.  :D

What can i say, reading all the english romance books, watching american films... all these have made me pay attention to foreigners more.  :)  Now don't get me started on their accents bec that would mean i was in speaking distance with them. It is so hard to be professional when you are wondering: is his cock big? Cut? (I blame MFHD for that)  :D :D Thankfully, i've only encountered a handful of visiting bankers that made me think this way. The rest were just ordinary looking folks, nothing to scramble my brains. Sorry to objectify, am only a naughty but harmless human.  :P :D :D

When I found myself reading Dusty it was only because I'd seen it in so many of my favorite authors favorites, and it was complete so I read the whole thing in about half a day. I wish I'd been able to talk about this story after I read it, but it actually turned out to be what my first post here was about! I think I've seen demaris mention how it would of been easier to take in as a work in progress than having the complete story in its entirety. Since there were two people writing it, sometimes the tone and writing style doesn't really match up, so you'll have one really nice reflective chapter followed by a narrative of someone that's in a bad place. I'm not one to read WIP stories, but if I had read this while they were posting chapters every few weeks, I'd probably read and let myself ruminate over the chapters and then be cool for the next couple chapters that post, and do the same thing. I'm so bad at trying to elaborate on stories I've read, but a roller coaster is definitely an apt description for Dusty. It's a very long and mentally exhausting ride and by the end of the story I was so done. I don't think I'd been that annoyed over fictional words since JK Rowling went and made Ron and Hermione canon. My poor teenage feelings!

Someone on here pinpointed it for me that Team Bella writes very destructive characters. It seems like she's a fan of Edward and Bella being together, but she just wants to make it real hard for them to get there. The majority of her stories deal with some type of addiction, this is just going by the pulled stories of hers that I've read. Aha Shake being the only exception and honestly the best story, ever.

I'm around 3/4 finished with Dusty...
Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.
It's hard to read!  I've never had this issue before, but when I read this I am finding myself looking at it from Renee's point of view.   Typically these young love stories have me reminiscing about my own high school days, but this is just so tragic.   I can't imagine being Bliss' mom and not knowing that all that was going on.  It's simply the most destructive relationship ever and as foreign as all the hard drugs are to me I know that this is real and there are so many young girls that get stuck in these codependent relationships. (I was caught up in one of those relationships for many years through high school and some after! Glad I didn't end up marrying that guy!)

I agree that Dusty would have probably been easier to take as a WIP...  it's just somewhat overwhelming when you read huge chunks in a row.   With that being said, at this point I'm still glad that I'm reading it because I can definitely understand all the strong feelings for this fic now!   I'm probably going to have to read the published version now too.

Thanks for mentioning Aha Shake...  Strange title, but I am going to need to read this one too!  I think this was on Demaris' favorites list too.

ALSO I realized earlier this week that I was complaining on the old thread about YellowGlue's Trippin, being way too long and boring, when it was actually another YellowGlue vampward fic that I was getting it confused with. The Worst of the Weather and Rose Like Thunder is 400 pages and the first 160 are from BPOV, and the rest is basically a repeat from EPOV. Trippin' is perfect, amazing, great and all those adjectives.
I wondered what you meant when you said that it had the alternating POVs because I hadn't noticed it and was confused. ;-)   I thought Trippin' Slippin' was simply the most beautiful story ever...   probably the best thing I've read ever.   Which did you like better, TSTS or Aha Shake?
