I was wondering about the Colorado Mountain series...   I have that one on my TBR list too.

And yes...  him sneaking into her bed for that long was a little weird, but I've read crazier things.   I was just glad to finally find out that she had met him before.  At first I thought he was a totally random stranger.    :o

The Colorado Mountain series was also great! Loved that as well.  :) Really, i can't decide which among her RC, CM and DM series is my favorite. I just truly like her writing, the quirkiness of the characters, the men, their interwoven stories, the men, and generally how it makes me feel while i am reading their stories. I do agree that some of the latter ones were not as good as the others. But still a helluva let better than some of the stories i unfortunately wasted my time on.

Haven't read her Knight series also.

Lexxie Couper's Heart of Fame series is another one i follow. Book 7 just came out  >:D

RANT!  :pulling

Why?! Why?! Why?! Do author's do this?!

"NO! Don't you ever say that. You have every part of my heart, honey. It's yours, I swear. Baby, please don't leave me. I'll die, Bella. (A/N: I'm one major drama queen. Lol.)"

OK, forget the god awful writing for a moment, it's done, I can't rant about that, all I can do is flounce, which isn't an option; but for f*ck sake! An AN smack in the middle of dialogue? Are these people retard! I read another fic today where the AN popped up in the middle of a 'scene' to say 'Lemons left to your imagination" Really?! There should be a law!  :pulling

RANT OVER
:iagree: :iagree: :iagree:
I read fic last week where nearly every other chapter the author would put the comment (see pic on my blog) after describing what Bella was wearing, even if it was in the middle of a paragraph.
Seriously any comment you want can be added to an A/N either at the beginning or end of the freakin' chapter.  :pulling :pulling :33: :33:

I FLOVE Knight, I seriously have an ovary explosion every time he tells Anya to call him "Daddy".  :P :P

So I don't go on FB often, but I decided to have a nose around and I may or may not of fangirled slightly when I saw this:

I really hope this happens - she said that she'd call it "Shake".  :cheer: :cheer:

Hmmmm? I don't know. I love TB, I do; and I love Aha Shakes a hella lot, but, I'm beginning to wonder if this is going to be a case of her having a compulsion to print every thing she's ever written? And it also reminds me of a comment made during the 'to print or not to print' YG/TB fall out.....how much of it is about the writing and how much is it about the attention/controversy that comes from it, though it wasn't put quite so...diplomatically.  :D

On another note, to temper my rant of yesterday.

There are times when I ask myself, repeatedly, why the f*ck I continue to put myself through the torture that this fandom can be? Mediocre writing,(at best), abandoned fics, slow to crawling updates, crazies (!)  perpetual repetition (as if the authors all share one brain) and then out of nowhere, when you least expect it, you accidentally stumble, and I mean fall flat on you face, into sometime really great. And then, for just the time it takes to read a single story, it all suddenly makes sense....

FLOVE Knight, I seriously have an ovary explosion every time he tells Anya to call him "Daddy".  :P :P

See, I wasn't that keen on Knight, it might have been because I read it after Xfire and he just didn't match up to Mr Cross (on top of being a modern day Iceberg Slim) or it might have been because the heroine (can't remember what the heck her name was!) came across as slightly 'special needs', but either way not my favourite of that elk.  :P

I was the opposite. I read Crossfire books after Knight, and I just couldn't see what all the fuss was about.

Are there fanfics like Bella Swan: Kidnapper? Something that's funny but ultimately hot and sweet at the same time? But please, I'm not into cheating and fics where Bella is older. Oh, and I LOVE Jealous- or Possessive-ward <3

I haven't read Bella Swan: Kidnapper, but have you tried The Plan by quantumfizzx?  It fits the funny, hot and sweet category.

There's also Edward Wallbanger by feathersmmmm.

And I'm drawing a blank on the name of the story and author, but Bella's in an accident and loses her memory.  Edward is her doctor and husband.  It's funny and really sweet.  Someone on here will remember the name immediately or I'll remember it later today and some back and post.

Yes! Anya (wasn't that it? Ana, Anya, something like that) felt "special", not too bright. I mean, dim bulbs need a hot man as much as anyone, but I just didn't connect to her at all. This just felt like a poor man's 50 Shades/Xfire to me. It was really disappointing to me, as I had loved EVERY KA up to that point.

:D "dim bulbs need a hot man as much as anyone," I laughed my pants off! I hated how KA kept saying she was the 'girl next door' but at the same time stopped traffic when she walked down the road. Either you're Angelina Jolie or Jennifer Aniston , but you can't be both...ask Brad.

So glad I started flouncing! Although now it makes it much harder to identify stories that I've read through and thought about a couple months later after I've flounced; I don't keep track of the flounced stories, so I'll remember a random detail and drive myself crazy trying to locate the story EVEN IF IT'S TERRIBLE!

I loooved Aha Shake and probably would have enjoyed the story if I found it under original fiction, but I've already read it so there's no excitement  :unamused: I think that TB really grew as a writer, because some of the earlier stories she wrote and pulled are questionable. There's a book I read recently that kind of reminds me of Edward in Aha Shake, even though I much prefer Edward's character.

So many people seem to like it, but I thought it was kind of corny. A review on a fanfic I read awhile back finally pinpointed why certain stories bother me, it's because they're written by women who are writing what they think goes through a mans head. The character in Tangled is written really over the top and almost felt like I was reading a caricature of the stereotypical redeemed douchebag. Almost all of the books I read are written by women though, but some just seem like they try too hard when a male is narrating.

also can she just pull Pickup Truck and rework that? I know she'll never finish it at this point, but that was something I actually read as a WIP :(

Not just with respect to a stereotypical redeemed douchebag, but I feel that many writers simply use wish fufillment.  Of course I'm sure that men would do the same to women. *shrug*  But yes, it's increasingly annoying for me as a reader.

Kinda like they WISH they could domesticate that douchebag player sort of guy, so they write what they THINK that guy thinks, and then have them fall hard.

No 'would do' about it, men do.  And the sad thing is that women internalize that sh!t and turn themselves into Barbies while men carry on their merry ways no matter what women write in their fiction. This is why it's fine for a 110 year old actor (Hollywood/media is run by old, fat, bald men) to have a 25 year old play their 'love' interest in a film but woe betide an actress who looks over 35.

Have you read anything that you could relate to or see yourself agreeing with the internal monologue? Or all we all just delusional and writing flowery prose for male characters?

One of my favorite books EVER-- She's Come Undone, is written by a man. It's by Wally Lamb and it seriously took me years to connect the dots and when I realized that this troubled female character was written by a man it just blew my mind! A large chunk of what I read are romance novels written by women and about 75% of the time I get the POV from a mans perspective I just kind of have to roll my eyes because it's definitely wish fulfillment and I just wonder if these authors are just putting crap out that appeals to women or if they at least have a significant other that can help them out with some of the dialogue, because no one talks the way they do in romance novels/sappy fanfic  :D

I don't hate you but you are missing out on a really good series.   Also love Savitch and Sherlock.  Haven't read the latest yet. A friend just picked it up and I'll read it when she's finished which doesn't disturb me much since I've got so many other books I need to read.  I never got into Stephanie Plum.   I don't care how funny its/she is supposed to be.
I loved Stephanie Plum but it started losing something around #15.  Okay maybe that's when I started reading Twilight and twifics. But my favorite for funny is 5. Somehow when the garbage truck blew up then fell over on the Porsche she was borrowing from Ranger? I think I was practically rolling on the floor laughing. She does have bad luck with cars. ;)

Of course there are fics that respresent men accurately, as as I'm sure you'd say there are some novels (or other publication of choice) where men can write a woman decently well enough.

Agree with you on this. Am super happy when a fanfic writer gets published, more so if it's a brand new story. But so far, i haven't read a single pubd book that i already read first as a fanfic.  :( Maybe if it was one of my top ten fanfics and not too long. I wanted to read sempre bec i loved EP, but that was a long and angsty one.  ;D Have too many books and fanfics to go through i can't bring myself to re-read one (unless i was in a deep slump).

Speaking of the opposite, i read it as a book first before i found out it was a fanfic... The 50 shades trailer is out!
