Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, so please play nice

Darn it! You beat me to it! Those abs are as much RP's as Giselle's legs are mine... The laugh I had when I clicked on OBL's link was the best I've had all week!  :D

 :D :D :D I had a good laugh too... It was fantastic!  8)

Are you saying that you have finished everything on your fic and book TBR list?! You realise that that is a requirement to be a member of this 'book club'? To have a TBR that is so long it'll require 20 lifetimes to read it all?  :D

SPeaking of the All Souls Trilogy...  I really liked the way Book 2 wrapped up!  Actually book 1 wrapped up in a good spot too.  Can't wait to see how it all unfolds in book 3!

Good, just good, so good...  8) 8) 8)

You guys are cracking me up today  :-*

Sh1t! Woops! I totally missed that part  :D :D :D Yeah, sorry Amdiemoe the only ones on that list that are angst-light are....ah crap...even the Judith McNaught suggestion is the angst-ist of all her books. I'll go back and have another look.... :P

I can deal with some angst but in my experience when I read it I want to bash my iPad. Maybe I'm just reading poorly written angst or I don't really know what it's definition is.

No, I think that is a major component of angst - wanting to smash whatever you're reading the story on.

Ohhh ok, at least I'm not the only one. Something that drives me nuts when I'm reading (not necessarily angst) when a character can't decide on something and flip flops back and forth. I like the character trying to make a decision and the whole process of that.

So, if you're not completely opposed to angst then I beg you to read The Bronze Horseman!  It will change your life.  LOL It's that good.

Yep, that's the one; I'm on the second book now, I'm not loving it as much but it still pretty good.
Well, you'll have to let us know when you finish this last book...   maybe it stinks and makes the series not worth reading?

I read 4 of the Mortal Instruments book and I have to say that I was disappointed in Book 4.   Have you read that one yet?  I felt like it was meant to be a trilogy and then maybe they added a book 4 after the fact, but who knows.
You did better than me hun, I read 3 books in the MI series and then started to lose the will to live.
I got talked into watching the film, that's 2hrs+ of my life I'm never getting back.  >:( :D

You're not too far behind.  She just posted the first chapter a few days ago and the second chapter this morning (CST).  Don't you have her on your alert list?

She is on alert but I've got 5 email addresses (all for different reasons) and the one I use for fic updates has over 200 in atm, so I only just noticed that she started posting. But I've marked as priority like a few other fics/authors so I will know as soon as she posts next time.

I don't know if my other angst h00rs are the same but that's definitely gotta be in the Top 3 things when you read a fic/book, that comes pretty close to blaming whoever is nearest to you that it's their faults somethings happened.  :D :D

Kim I'm pretty sure you'd like them, they're a good read. I've not read the extended version yet, though I do have it.
I would ask Mrs F what's extra but no point unless she's read both versions.  :D :D

I haven't read the MI books, I have them.... but they are sitting... holding the dust bunnies for me.  8) I did see the movie, but ehh. The blonde skinny guy was, IDK, TOO skinny? Is he supposed to be sexy in the books? IDK, wasn't sold. I did however love seeing Jonathan Rhys Meyers    I flove him!!!

I second that recommendation TBH is one of the best books I've read.

I have to say I preferred the first book but the second book is more than well worth reading, I've just finished it. You know when you get to the last page of a good book and you feel a slight heart clench because you'll not 'see' these characters again?  That's how I judge if I've wasted my time or not....I got a heart clench with Education.

I would ask Mrs F what's extra but no point unless she's read both versions.  :D :D

The extra bits are at the end compilation as epilogues and extra chapters (like out-takes) I don't think there is any difference in the actual individual main stories, if you can understand what I mean....?

I don't get the appeal of Jamie Campbell Bower, I thought he was too young to play Caius in the films.
I FLOVE JRM, he was the only reason I kept watching The Tudors when everyone else I knew had given up on it.  :P :P

Lol, like I say that's just one of my email accounts - the other 4 aren't so bad, but they all have 75-100+ emails waiting for me to read.
I will get around to it one day.  :D :D

I agree hun, the 1st one was better than the 2nd (but that's nothing new, really).
That makes reading the extra stuff easier, I thought I was gonna have to re-read both again, though that's not a bad thing but just don't have time atm trying to diplomatically review the  :poo: :poo: ARCs I've got.  :D :D

It's Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) & Oliver from Arrow (Stephen Amell), it's their first kiss which most of us Arrow fans had waited ages for and then got heartbroken afterwards.

The only good thing about it: my baby Jamie looks hot in it (even though he's shaved the beard off :P :P)

I'm on a bit of a Jamie high as the second season of You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login returned to UK TV tonight and Jamie has to play one of the hottest serial killers there is, I seriously can't get enough of this show - it's so dark and angsty.  ^-^ ^-^ :D :D

Saw this tonight during Scandal. I still don't know about Dakota as Ana, and I think Jamie looks MUCH better with stubble, but I think he could be ok as Christian. I won't see it in theaters, but I'll grab it once it appears online.

I just saw the article on FSoG over on Gossip Cop.  I see that Loopy has already posted the trailer.  I'm reposting only because of the article that goes with it.   I knew it was going to be shown this week but I couldn't remember which show had it.   I don't watch Scandal so my loss I guess (or gain?).

I don't watch Scandal either, I just hadn't turned it yet after Grey's Anatomy.

I don't know what I'm in the mood to read tonight. :(

I think I figured out my issue with Ana in these trailers! She doesn't look like a 21 year old virgin, like an innocent young woman. She looks more like a 30 year old spinster! The blousy, flowered shirts, the matronly sweaters, and her bangs look like they were cut with hedge clippers. I don't like the way they chose to show "virginal". Virgin and innocent does not mean matronly.

I don't watch Grey's Anatomy either.  Thursday isn't a big night for me - if I watch anything its Big Bang Theory.  I wasn't in the mood for tv tonight.   I tried reading instead and didn't feel like that either.   Maybe virginal and innocent equaling matronly depends on the century?   Someone has maybe been reading too much Barbara Cartland (in regards to Ana on the production side of the movie?)?  Or Amanda Quick?

I looooved The Diva Diaries!  It was just SO good!   I agree about it being a top ten fic!

I read 4 of the Mortal Instruments book and I have to say that I was disappointed in Book 4.   Have you read that one yet?  I felt like it was meant to be a trilogy and then maybe they added a book 4 after the fact, but who knows.

Yes, I read book 1 to 5 and have still book 6 left. I agree with you. She could have stopped after book 3 and originally it should have been a trilogy, but apparently she needed the money. ;) I like the characters so I don't mind reading 3 books more after vol. 1-3, but they weren't really necessary.
I still hope for more movies though. Though I read something about a TV series. I think I would watch it if possible here.
