Thread #6 - We are crazy talkers here! Join in the fun!

ADULT DISCUSSION HERE, SO TRY TO KEEP IT CLEAN! UM NO, WAIT! IF YOU ARE EASILY OFFENDED, LOOK AWAY NOW!

This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general.  But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, so please play nice

Because we know drypen's watching

I saw from the reviews that there is a major cliffhanger on book 1.    Will I be satisfied with just reading the first 2 books?  Looks like the rest of the books might be about different characters but as long as things wrap up with the main couple in just two books I won't feel the need to read the rest, I think.

Your toaster oven tray was probably taken by the gremlins that visit my house. They are so bad. They are always taking stuff. :D :D :D :D
I had this same problem and someone told me a little trick that seems to have helped. Put some pretty shiny things in a little cup, stick it somewhere it won't be disturbed, and tell the gremlins or whatever that this is for them and to leave your stuff alone.  I put some beads and pennies. Nothing much. Worked for a while. Probably time to refresh it.  ;)

Of course, I don't have kids disappearing with stuff. Just me the hubby and the cats.

Oh I thought it was just me that's a Scrooge in regards to Christmas. I really can't bear it and when you say this, people look at you like you personally kicked Mary out the inn. So you have to suffer through all the :poo: pretending to be in the 'Christmas spirit' so that people leave you alone and not look at you like you're a freak! I've been trying to persuade Mr PA to just knock it all on the head and let us take off to lie on a beach somewhere...He looked at me and said ' What about my parents?"!!!  :o :wtf:  Motherf*cker your parents have 4 other children and more grandchildren than Noah! Obviously I didn't say that out loud...because, ya know, I kinda like his dick.  ;)  :P :D

 :D
Another Scrooge here. I'm trying for years now to convince my mother to stop with the presents. She's the one who doesn't want to stop. Apparently she likes getting senseless presents. I HATE it! My sister and I start in September each year wracking our brains what to give to our parents. And on top I have to search my present from my mother myself. She can't choose it, because she has no idea what I like, so I have to go shopping. AAAAARGH!!! I hate shopping - especially in December. And of course I should choose something for the hubby too as she wants to pack her presents in August. Pfffff.... she's definitely spoiled Christmas for years now. Otherwise I'd not be so aversed I guess. I like getting together with my family for one (!) day as I see them maybe two or three times a year. And all the more I like the day after the family gathering. At home...alone with the hubs...doing nothing other than relaxing.
But really....I simply can't understand the hype. It's all about consumption imho. I don't like that anymore. So I avoid the city at this time of the year and buy only the least regarding presents.
The hubs and I stopped gifting each other years ago. We both hate it equally and we buy everything we want when we want it. No waiting for Christmas.

I finished Bear Creek Road by Jonesn. Not sure if it falls into the UST-y category  ;)
I liked it! He's a scruffyward though...  8)

I also finished Sylvia Day's Spellbound... Its just hot s*x though *ahahahha..

Bear Creek Road was very very good! All-time-favorite for me. She published it as a novel lately.

I have to blame gremlins - I live by myself so there's no one else to blame except me.  If I still lived with my parents I could blame the house ghost (yeah - the house is haunted) or my father who has Alzheimer's and can't remember where he put anything.   I'll have to try your suggestion Ella regarding shiny things in a cup.   I hope it works because I'm almost convinced I accidently/absentmindedly threw it out (a pizza box was residing on top of it on the stove at the time).  Oilily - its nice to be a scrooge - or at least I always thought so.  However - the older I get, the more I miss the old Christmas holidays of years past.  I didn't think I'd mind if anyone forgot the holiday - however, I am revising that wish.   The last 3 years we haven't done much of anything - mainly because of my father's Alzheimer's and the fact we've been snowed out all 3 years and no one has been able to get to my parents.   There have been precisely 4 people who have remembered to buy anything for me - an aunt, my parents (which count as one), and one of my brothers.  This year it will be down one because my brother who came up from Virginia in April to help with my father while my mother was in the hospital with a broken hip ended up getting pissed off with my parents(rightly so) and left 4 days early declaring he wasn't talking to any of the rest of us who lived in the state ever again and so far he hasn't responded to e-mails or phone calls - I can understand why he's ticked off with my mother but why he's extended it to the rest of us is beyond me.  Sometimes people are irrational and life is too short to cut oneself off completely.

Welcome to our newbies! Sorry, have been busy with RL that i haven't asked some of our standard questions to the new ones that have joined us the past few weeks.

Pls let me welcome you to our thread by asking the following questions:
Where are you from?
How tall are you?
What is your shoe size?
What is your bra size?

Don't worry, majority of us here have already shared this, and more as you will find out reading the past threads.

Okay Loopy - I'll bite - why were your glasses in the freezer?   Now if someone could just tell me what the heck I did with the toaster oven tray - I misplaced it over a year ago and still haven't run across it yet.......
Lol, I do stupid stuff like put underwear in the cooker etc.  :o :D
I think they ended up in the freezer cos I went into it the night before for something and for whatever reason left my glasses in there.  ??? ???

I finally got around to watching The Fault In Our Stars...  wow was it good!  I read the book and while I did like the book I didn't love it.    I don't think I've ever said I liked a movie better than the book, but I think that the movie was better in this case.   Not really sure what it was... maybe they left out part of Gus' decline so it wasn't quite as sad?   Did anyone else feel that way?  I cried through the whole darn thing because I knew what was coming, but it was sooo worth watching!
I think we all know my love for all thins John Green but I've gotta gree with you hun, I think the movie is slightly better than the book and in my case that is really saying something.  :)
I'm kinda glad they left part of Gus' decline out of the movie as every time (and I mean every time) I watch itI'm not just ugly crying I'm fugly crying before the film has even started.
When the hubby took me to the cinema to watch it the first time I was crying when they were only showing trailers for upcoming films. The couple next to us who couldn't of been older than 18/19 asked if I was okay and the hubby was like "You should see her when she's reading the book" and then the girl had the nerve to say that she didn't know that she didn't even know that TFioS was a book before the film, I've never wanted to b!tch slap someone so much.  :D :D

You're alright to read the first 2 books on their own though you may not want to as the other books are about other characters that are in them and I found that by the end of the second book I had question about those characters that I wanted answered and they kind of are in the next few books.
If you do read The Coincidence series and like it hun you should try Jessica's The Secret series as I think it's slightly better.

When you are adding stories to your favorites are you scrolling to the bottom of the page you get after you push add to favorites and clicking "Submit"?  [That always makes me giggle.]  You should get a message that says:
Your Statistics
Edit Favorites
The action was successful. Back to your account area.

If you don't get that message you've not added the story to your favorites.
Please search before requesting or posting.  Check the You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login for uploaded Twilight fanfiction.

Are you talking about TWCS? I had  the same problem - it actually took me some time to figure it out (with clicking Submit button). It`s definitely easier on ff.net.
