I always wondered the same thing about the wigs and makeup. It blew my mind how awful the wigs were. Oh and I can't remember who said it but when they had that vision sequence at the end where Carlisle was killed I nearly fell out of my seat... Don't ask me why, but I did NOT realize it was just a vision and I had heard people mention that the end was different from the books so I thought maybe they had really changed things up and I was SAD! Then, when Edward almost fell in that giant crevice I swear I think I may have rolled around the theater floor sobbing because I thought it was for real. Turns out I'm the only person that didn't realize it was a vision, but what can I say, I was really in the moment! (ok, I didnt really sob in the floor, but I did sob in my seat)
It was me hon... OMG... I was *APPALLED*! My head was going to pop off and I was very vocal during the whole sequence of events!! Just reading your reaction makes me laugh... I was there with ya!You definitely weren't the only one. The entire theater I was in was shocked! You could feel the "WTF!?!?! ARE YOU KIDDING!??! I'M WALKING OUT OF THIS SH*T" tension emanating off of everyone.

(ok, I didnt really sob in the floor, but I did sob in my seat)I've read Beautiful Bastard, Beautiful Player and Beautiful Stranger... I liked all of them (each book is about one of a trio of guy friends) but I adored Beautiful Player. I thought BP was just almost perfect for a book from that genre (contemp romance).
LOL Ok, so I'm glad it wasn't just me. I couldn't walk out though because I was too busy rolling around in tears. ha! I got way too upset by that whole part. Did I mention that I'm Team Edward?
Last post for tonight... I just finished Wait For You by J. Lynn (Jennifer Armentrout) and I thought it was just ok. I loved Cam, but the story just wasn't unique enough for me. It was one of those that seemed like every other story where the heroine had something bad happen to her in the past. After thinking about it I think there just wasn't enough good angst in it. There was angst, but it was stuff that seemed made up just to add some angst. I mean, really? Someone is harrassing her with text messages? C'mon! I'm still reading through the last book of the All Souls Trilogy. I hit a dull spot in it and picked up that other book and now I'm going back to Matthew. I miss him.
Have you ladies seen this? It's interesting because I know I've rated FF along side books but I make it very clear by placing them on my FF shelf....Is this author being precious? Does she have a point? Thoughts? You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
So I'm now off from work for Christmas, whoop whoop! And as is tradition I've just finished watching Funny Girl for the 100th time...The scene when she's (Barbra Streisand) on the tug boat trying to catch-up with Nick Arnstein singing Don't Rain on My Parade is one of my favourite scenes in a film ever! I still get goose pumps. Anyway I was thinking I so loved hearing who everyone's first TV boyfriend was I'm now wondering, what everyone else's favourite film scene is. Twilight films not allowed!.. :D
OK, so I love one of the scenes at the end of "The Bridges of Madison County" where Meryl Streep is following in the car Clint Eastwood who`s about to leave the city forever and every time, every damn time I watch it tears are sreaming down my face and I always - though I know it`s irrational and stupid - always hope that she`ll stop him and tell him to stay.
Ohhhhh, that's a GOOD one! I love that scene. I haven't seen Bridges in a while...but just thinking of that scene gave me a lump in the throat. Good call! [emoji5]️
since I haven't read many real books lately, I tend to avoid the drama on Goodreads. Though I will say one of the writers I beta for had a story added there and wasn't too happy. Doesn't it just posted a link to the story? I don't see what the problem is.
Ugh. I've been reading/talking about this for days, and it ticks me off. Fanfic authors are talking about GR users reading their fics "out of context", whatever the heck that means, saying we aren't really part of the fandom for some strange reason, and a bunch of them have had GR admins remove listings for their fics, and thus, our ratings, reviews, and conversations that took place under the reviews.I don't really get it, at all. No uploading of fics was done, credit was given to the fic authors, and the reviews were mostly all positive. We shared the stuff we enjoyed. I don't get how sending more readers to find your stuff is a bad thing. I do understand the few I saw who'd had users populating the author profile with pictures and links ripped straight from their AO3 or tumblr accounts being pissed, but otherwise, I'm just so confused and hurt by all that's been going on. They link to their fics on tumblr and on blogs, but we can't link to it on GR?
I LOVE that movie. I can watch it over and over again and every time I cry like a baby
I haven't watched Funny Girl and the movies Loopy mentioned First movie scene that popped into my mind was in True Lies. The one where Jamie Lee Curtis had to pretend to be an escort and dance in a hotel room for a bad guy who turns out to be her husband Arnold Schwarzenneger who works for the CIA (he set this scene up for her to give her excitement and finally admit he worked for the CIA). He had a co-worker speak in a French accent and taped it so he could give her instructions to dance and strip without her realizing it was him. Sooooooo funny. I love love love this movie! Action, comedy, romance! The scenes in The American President where Annette Benning made a fool of herselfa) insulting Michael Douglas not knowing he could hear herB) answering a phone call and making snarky comments not knowing she was speaking to the Presidentc) michael douglas trying to order flowers for her Famous line: "I am Andrew Shepherd and I AM the president"That was a very good speech! I also love musicals. the Sound of Music is my number one choice (know all the songs by heart) and next is Singing in the Rain (good Morning, good morning! It's great to stay up late)
I agree with you and Matron. As ExperimentBL626 commented:"In general: don't put any sort of writing or ideas or whatever for others' eyeballs if you don't want people to react."This has long been my opinion, specially when those fanfic authors requested their work to be pulled down. Put something for free in the internet, kiss it goodbye. Whether bec you want to publish it or bec you couldn't take the comments, tough sh*t. You brought this on to yourself so live with the consequences of your action. If you don't want to get negative comments or low ratings, then don't post your work where it can be read by anyone who had at least half a brain to form a thought or opinion. jeez!
Kinda late to the party but I'll like to add my faves too.Notting Hill, when Julia is in asking Hugh to take her back......I'm just a girl standing in front on a boy asking him to love her....something like that....so tear worthy.Another is Dirty Dancing....gotta love baby.I also enjoyed FB, one of my faves as well. Who doesn't love Han Solo...I actually like most of Harrison Ford's movies.Have a good week everyone.
