Am I the only one who still can't get updates from ff.net with the calibre plug in? It updates stuff from writers coffeeshop and twilighted, but not ff.net.

ETA: NM I just noticed there was an update for the plug in, seems to be working now.

mind me asking what plug in that is?? i cant find it

If you turn on calibre and hit  preferences, then plug ins, then get new plug ins, it's listed there, FanFictionDownloader. Just scroll down to it, click the plug in, and hit install.

 :-*  Now i have 2 other questions.
1 - If you have the same story on FF.net and TWCS do you find one to be better than the other with all the "monitoring" and "censoring" going on at FF,net?

2 - when i upload from TWCS to Calibre it asks for my sign in info all the time is there away to stop that?

I have heard some people post their cleaner versions on ff.net and the naughtier ones on TWCS, but unless they actually let you know, I don't know how you'd find out they're different.

2. Under "configure plug in" on the ff downloader, there's a place to enter all your user names and PWs so you don't have to log in each time. It's under the "personal ini" tab.

I have been known to give good advice occasionally - like Vicks on your feet! Have you tried that yet, Snotty McGee?

I tried it and it seemed to draw the cold out so, at least it is not all blocked sinuses now.  However, it didn't do anything for this flipping sore throat.

I read after I get the children to bed for about 3 hours and whenever I can during the day - less so when I am at work!
I never read in bed though.

Perhaps they need to not be quite so greedy when setting the price for e-books too!
I've seen some (unknown) authors trying to charge nearly £10 (about US$15) for a debut novel!!  :o
I don't think I'd even pay that for well known authors unless it was a hardback or paperback version.

While reading to my daughter tonight I realized that I grew up with fanfiction!  :)

We are reading my most favouritest childrens book of all times right now, I must have read it a hundred times as a kid and my kids love it too.

I'm talking about "The wizard of Emerald City" by Alexander Volkov You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

I'm not sure if anybody outside of the (former) Eastern bloc knows them, but that book is a rewrite of The Wizard of Oz with lots of changes. I read the original when I was in my twenties, but now we own both series.

 8) 8) 8) So I learned to love fanfiction as a kid!  :D

I've finished Be Like Water by taoist elf.

This is the first multi chapter fic I have read that wasn't Bella/Edward and I have to say it was brilliant.

It is a Bella/Paul imprint story set during New Moon before the return of Edward, it is amazing how the author gets you rooting for everything to work out for the imprinted couple.
Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.

There are not many SpaG errors although, there are a couple of phrases/words that are overused.

If you are not scared to give it a try, it is a really well written fic and I would recommend it.

Yeah, welcome to Wolfworld! I think it's amazing how much of an alternate universe those wolf-authors created. I think Bella/Paul stories are a great step into this world, I hope you enjoy lots of more stories!

I plan to give this, and Crave, a try, soon as I get back into fic. I think I'm going still on real books though, not in the mood for Bella ATM.

Haha - how true!

This one certainly opened my eyes to the possibilities although Bella/Jacob may be too much of a stretch.

Weird as it sounds, I prefer A/H over vampfic anyway.

For A/H I prefer Edward/Bella, most times they are so ooc, that it doesn't matter anyway.
For vampfics I prefer Jasper, Peter, Garrett / Bella, they make for awsome badass vampires, way more fun than Edward!

And in Wolfworld I started like you with Paul, then I read some really great Sam/Bella but it took a lot of time till I dared to read Jacob/Bella. But there are really good Jacobfics out there where you just feel that they have to be together and there's nothing stopping that. Stop by at the noncanon thread! :-*

My tastes are just like yours, I prefer human Edward, vamp Jasper, Peter, Garrett, etc. :) I have recently started picking up a few human Jasper stories though, we'll see how it goes.

What I really like is when Jasper (or Peter or Garrett) either get to put Bella back together after Edward leaves her, or when they find her and she is completely different (ie better) when they stumble across her and they get to know the new Bella.

Sometimes I wish there were more AH Jasper fics. I mean, why make Edward a soldier/cowboy etc when you have a perfectly fine character for that?  ;)

For finding Bella better, Betterintexas started a new J/B fic "Whirlwind". Hilarious!  :D Betterintexas fics I HAVE to read as WIPs, I just can't wait for them to complete... but since he updates daily and always completes his stories, I don't care...   8)

I'm about halfway through You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login. So far it's okay, a bit too dramatic for my tastes and I get slightly bored of Tanya's whole family being a bunch of evil crazies in fics. Edward is sweet, but I hate when a geeky character gets a makeover and suddenly every member of the opposite sex is jumping all over him. In this a woman even follows him back to his apartment, asks to use his bathroom and then strips naked and throws herself at him. Maybe I'm just being grouchy! ^-^
