After googling what it was I read this You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

This woman details her first time experience with using it and while it will take a few days to get used to inserting/removing/cleaning it it seems like something I would like to use.  Should I let you all know, or TMI?

I can't stand tampons - I want to use them because of the ease and convenience, but I get cramps with tampons. So, I have to use pads - and I think pads are the most disgusting things! I went shopping this morning to stock up. I got enough for the next 3, maybe 4 "visits" - 4 packets of 10 super dooper surfboards for $6 each and 2 packets of 10 regular pads for $5.

I hate pads with a passion; growing up my sister and my step-mom told me that tampons were bad, that if you used them then you were no longer a 'virgin', so I never used them. But then In high school I had a horrible experience with pads, it was so bad that I felt the world hated me  :'( but it was nothing major just you know the usual, had to wear my sweater to cover my butt. Anyways, on my way home I went to the drugstore and bought some tampons and I never looked back.

  • Hi! I'm Ellachanted and I'm a fanfic-oholic.
I'm not going to quote you Astro because that was way too long.  I really feel for you.  Before I went on the pill, periods were miserable.  Cramps so bad my mom would bring home codeine from work that dropped on the floor (she was a nurse) for me.  It didn't work all that great.  But it was better than anything else they would give me.  The only thing that worked was a heating pad in the front and one in the back.  I would sleep with them both while it lasted.  But it was hard to do anything.  And tampons? I tried one and couldn't get it out, it got so full.  It also didn't work with my cramps.

I loved the pill.  Whether I was having sex or not! My periods were much lighter, the PMS didn't have me wanting to kill people, and tylenol and aleve would work.  (I mixed them)  I recently had it confirmed I had endometriosis.

And yours sounds worse.

My concern would be that if tampons make the cramps worse, the cup will be similar.  So it might be worth researching it some more before buying it as it is a little pricey.

I do love that  - paging through the last page  - mixed up among the talk of diva cups and periods is a picture of a beautiful man making faces at his dog.  Sigh.

I love this thread! ;D :-*

I know something I'd like to touch here!  Though Chris H came in a close second.  And I don't normally go for blondes.  :D :D :D

Sorry I couldn't resist. ;)

I only get cramps when I use tampons - and to be honest, I haven't used a tampon in years, except for if I go swimming during "Shark Week", and because it's only for an hour at the most, and I'm in the water anyway, I don't cramp then.

The irregularity was a nightmare though - having to pack pads every time I went anywhere...just in case. Amazingly, I never worried about being pregnant when I was late though.

I just ordered a Diva Cup.

And now I have to hide my credit card in the freezer! I bought a new clothes drier, dishwasher and slow cooker yesterday. I bought a coffee machine and an instyler over Easter. I bought new toys for the kitchen - a gadget to make vegetable strings, and an oil/sugar thermometer last weekend. I bought some shellac because my nail girl doesn't have the shade of red I like anymore. I bought 4 pairs of shoes last weekend (Spendless shoes had a special deal going). I bought a new rechargeable toothbrush because my old one would only hold the charge for just long enough to clean my teeth).

Phew - it's probably lucky that I don't have to explain my spending to anyone - I have finally found a perk to being single!

I keep justifying my spending to myself though - look how much I've saved! And these were all things I NEEDED!

Well, maybe not the thermometer, so I'll have to cook something sugary when I get it!

I hear you, I don't spend as much as you though, but I have a handbag problem :P I purposely leave my credit cards at home when I know I'm going somewhere that has handbags or shoes or clothes or anything else I don't need!!

And I don't like blondes either, but OMG Chris Hemsworth is just so yummy ^-^

  • Hi! I'm Ellachanted and I'm a fanfic-oholic.
LOL! Definitely the best part of being single.   Although frankly, my husband & I eah pay certain bills & contribute to the mortgage.  Then we each spend the rest however.  Almost like being roommates.

My husband never learned to save, so he's not allowed anywhere near my account.  LOL!

Oh yes!  I'll be happy to help with his hammer.

Hmmm ...I may have a little more wine than I should have.  But it was only one glass.  Okay it was a big glass.  Kind of like 2 glasses full. :)

I'm feeling a bit frivolous at the moment - I'm usually very good with spending...and am very good at saving!

My dryer was at least 20 years old and my poor dishwasher was 13 + years old - and moved with me into country areas with really hard water so it has earned its retirement.

I work hard and shouldn't feel guilty, but just need to put the brakes on for a little while.

Handbags are my weakness - but I usually look and don't touch. We went to Hong Kong in 2012 and could have done some serious damage. I was very responsible - no knock offs at all, and only 2 real, authentic handbags - for 1/6 of their price in Australia!

Ha! It must be one of those days (nights?)! It's 3:53pm and I'm having a martini. I might have 2.

Fluck it! I'll have as many as I damn well please!

I am installing my new dishwasher...on my own!

I need a husband to do this!

And to do me when he's finished!!!

But because there is no husband, there is vodka!!!

  • Hi! I'm Ellachanted and I'm a fanfic-oholic.
Shoes used to be my weakness but now it's more bags. And books.

But I would like a new dishwasher.  The top shelf cleans great. Half the stuff on the bottom need to be recleaned or semi cleaned before being put in.  Its a pain.   :P

I had to wash everything either before or after I put it in the dishwasher - and the rubber seal is perished and the plastic parts inside are brittle and starting to snap.

I got a much better price because I bought everything at the same time - I actually did save $800!

But I can't lift my new dryer on to the top of my washing machine on my own!

I need...

Thinking maybe you should ask SNB over to help & offer him a drink. Or dinner. ;)
