It has rained so much over the last days here that some flooded towns are evacuated, in several cities all Schools are closed, public Transportation stopped working...
I hate it! And it still rains!  >:(

Don't worry about me, we live fine high and safe, but perhaps you can send some good thoughts to all those People who lost their homes (at least temporarily)...  :-*

I was actually thinking about this today - why are so many Bellas writers/journos or teachers?

I get that Twilight Bella liked the classics, but that doesn't mean she needs to be a writer or a teacher. Am I forgetting something from the books?

Next we'll be asking newbies what day of their cycle they're on!  :D :D :D The beauty of this website is that you can share as much or as little as you like - and if you're shy and have a question, feel free to PM.

I think as a writer/Editor Bella has enough time to work around Edward's crazy famous/CEO/whatever schedule  ;) she Needs a less demanding "career", so she can follow him around like a lovesick puppy unable to function alone but still earns some Money so she can buy her own stuff because she hates presents! As a teacher she has not much to do and has the whole summer off to follow him (insert last sentence here).
Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.
AND I think most writers are just taking the easy route with Bella's Jobs, something that doesn't Need to be researched that much (If Bella's a writer, the author just copies her own workstyle, we all know teachers...), so it can be a "stick to write about what you know" Thing as well.

Don't Forget that Bella is often a cook/Chef as well and can make a lasagna from scratch in 15 minutes (including the baking part)!  :D

Booked, thanks for keeping our spreadsheet up to date!

Oh, and there's no Need to ask about cycles here! When they've been here a few months, they are on our cycle *creepy laugh* >:D

I wonder with the writer Bella if it is the author wanting to live out their own fantasy.

Yeah, i guess since she has to be willing to follow Edward, it would be much easier to give her a job that she can do anywhere.  ;D

  • Hi! I'm Ellachanted and I'm a fanfic-oholic.
I always thought the main reason most writers make Bella a teacher or writer was because English is her favorite subject in the books.  Or well she likes reading classics.  So in the U.S.,options for an English major are usually teaching or writing.  Or managing a McDonald's because there are no other jobs available.

And I'm confused here ....you can't make lasagna from scratch in 15 minutes??? Crunchy lasagna is great!
*looks for sarcasm sign but can't find it on phone*

Glad to hear your safe.

Thanks!  :-* Yes, it is scary... My mom nearly got flooded (is this a word?) yesterday, but she and my brother stopped the water from entering her kitchen... I hope she stays dry...
10 years ago was that huge flood here and we still lived right next to the river in a ground floor Apartment...  :-\ We had to live with my PILs for two weeks, 6 adults, 1 Baby and 1 bathroom...  :P Fortunately our Apartment complex was near a gas Station, so they protected us with heavy sandbag walls and we only lost the stuff in our Basement... We were so lucky, but I'm still very scared of floods...  :o

Anchalee where are you from again?  (See, this is why the spreadsheet is important! LOL)  Glad you are safe and hope it quits raining soon.    We were recently hit by a "100 year flood" and it was rough.  So many people lost their homes. :(

About the cycle thing...   What's up with that?  I saw all of you guys talking about it a while back and the next thing I know I'm in the boat with you ladies!  :o

Does anyone else here have a southern drawl like they give Jasper?  I have the drawl I guess, definitely not as cool as an Aussie!  And like the urbandictionary says there are a lot of stereotypes to go with the accent.  (although some of them are accurate LOL)

Moved back to an actorward rec'd by Ella: Dreaming of you. So far so good... Just only realized there are many author/journalist/reporter Bellas out there to match the actorward/athleteward/musicwards  ;D

Ella is correct, you are indeed our first Russian!

dobro pozhalovat'

At this point, I don't know if we should stop asking newbies their stats at all or what?  I just don't want to alienate them if we don't ask, they might not think they are being welcomed? specially if they are lurkers and have been reading what's going on but was just too afraid/shy to post?
So, did you know a little Russian or did you look that up?  I'm sad to say that I don't know a single word.     And I think its sweet to ask newbies!  It made me feel like part of the group and very welcomed.

The only one of these I have read is Broken Angel, and I really liked it. My only complaint is it has a LOT of lemons, and after awhile, I just started skimming. I haven't read Let Your Light Shine yet, so I can't compare the two.
Too many lemons?  Is that possible? LOL   You should read Let Your Light Shine sometime...  its really good!  I read the first two and then got distracted and didn't read the third one.  I need to make sure I have that one marked to go back to.

I floved the whole series.  It is so great. and it is all HEA.  Once they are together, they are never apart again.  Well, I mean other than the normal, one has to travel thing.

I will not normally rec an non-HEA.  Well, Bloody Kisses was an HEA for B&E and that's about it. It was short and different.  So I really enjoyed it.  You can find it here You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

And I'm all about the B&E.  I know there are others who do non-canon.  I have no problem with non-canon for the other characters, but Bella and Edward have to end up together.   And sometimes, I really need Carlisle and Esme together.  I love gay Jake, Rose as a best friend, evil Alice and James being nice, as long as B&E are together.  Sad I know.  ;D
Thanks Ella!  I'm REALLY looking forward to reading Broken Angel!

I'm from South Carolina, I definitely have the drawl. Or maybe more of a twang, lol. Yeah, I'd call my voice a twang. I'd do that voice thing, but my mic is disabled on my laptop, and I can't figure out how to re-enable it, and I still have the problem that caused me to disable it in the first place! (I get a squealing reverb type of sound whenever I close the laptop unless the speakers are muted)

Oh and I'll be interested to see what you think of Broken Angel(and it's lemons!). Keep us posted!

So, what time is it there now?

When booked said that she knew two Russian words I was thinking that I know a couple German words because of some video game that my husband used to play when he was younger.    The characters were always yelling out random German phrases.

Nein! and Hilfe!  (are those right? haha)

I doubt that in this "let's drool over Rob" thread are male Readers  ;) If so, they don't have outed themselves yet

I started the Gravity series by drotuno today. I like it, it's very violent but well written.

Glad you are safe. If you could send some of that water our way, it sure would help with the fires.  Right now we are not really near it.  But if the wind blows like it did last week, that could change.  :P

Mostly though it is in the hills about 30+ miles away and is still on the other side.

It is funny though.  You get floods we get fire because it's so dry.
