You know that's exactly how I read as well! But sometimes I actually read some Vampward *shocking!*...

Atlas shrugged by Jeesiechreesie should not be forgotten in that category and I've recently rec'd a story here that I liked (Twelve months by SassyK).

But I really really hate all those New Moon alternatives, where Edward stays away for 100 years, Bella gets changed anyway (preferably by her own hybrid kids Edward impregnated her with before he ran...), then for some odd reason everybody ends up in Forks again and they just fall into each others arms and he is forgiven instantly! I mean, WTH? I thought in the "real" New Moon Edward got away very very easy, but those story are just ridiculous!  >:( *rant over*
I HATE New Moon.  I think I have said this before.  I can handle a "little" break where they argue and don't see each other for a bit.  But for some reason, half the authors seem to thing it is a requirement.

So I am with you on the how annoying it is.

I've been afraid to read Atlas Shrugged.  Does it get really bad?  I also want to read Sacrificial Lamb by Nolebucgirl but I hate that part where Bella kisses Jake.  Sigh.  I never get past the first chapter.  Maybe I should start at chapter 2  :D :D :D :D

I love Vampward, but only if it's AU like Vampire in the Basement, Creature of Habit, Business Casual or And With Thee Fade Away to name a few.

If it's New Moon based, I like Bella to end up with someone else cuz IMO Edward doesn't deserve her after pulling that shite.

I agree 100%! For once Edward behaves and talks not like 17-year0old teenager, but like a 100-year-old vampire that he is. Though in With Thee They Fade Away the ending was messed up (
Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.
) and there were plotholes, as far as I remember. But the whole story was very well written.

And I loved Lions Eat Lambs too. Waiting for the sequel  :)

Yes, I need the sequel right now! She has only posted teasers so far, so I'm waiting for her to finish her other story (which also is very good!) Her Edward is beyond terrifying, completelly creepy and my favorite vampward. He is what a 100 year old serial killer suppossed to be like. (I am in love with him, I know have a serious problem.)

As for the ending of With Thee Fade Away, yes it was kind of abrupt and not my favorite, but at least she didn't push it too much over the top. And, suprisingly, I also love Bella as a character.

LOL! None of the ones I rec'd showed a New Moon split except Broken Angel.  And I think the only reason she takes him back is because drotuno writes it that they have such a bond that they both would have died if they didn't get back together.  Eventually it gets to the point that if they are more than 10 miles apart it actually hurts them.   It is an interesting concept.

I understand the New Moon split.  I think Edward doesn't think it through properly but it is in keeping with his overly dramatic/protective character to want to keep her safe by removing what he thinks is the biggest danger.  Totally forgetting she gets into danger all the time without him.

But I think she forgives him a little too easy.  Though maybe the fact he was going to kill himself knowing she was dead, helped.  In a sick way, it is very sweet.   :-\

I haven't read any of the "gone for 100 years and comes back to Vamp Bella"  Well there was a one-shot.  She waited 300 years for him to come back.  Then she beat the crap out of him before she forgave him. It was kind of sweet.  :D :D :D

And one of my favs just because it is so different? Bloody Kisses by CaraNo.  E&B get their HEA.  Yeah, that is about it.  You would like this Edward.  ;D

Can I say something and not get yelled at?

I read Twilight when I was 14 and it was exactly the book I needed at the time. It is still one of my favorite books and I read every once in a while just because. It is deffinatelly not perfect and I can say that I've actually read fanfics better written, but I still love it with all my heart!

BUT the other three books were just TERRIBLE. Plot-wise, writing-wise, character-wise... They were just a train wreck. I mean Edward leaves, comes back, f@cks everything up, Bella is a complete Mary Sue, but turns out super-ultra-powerful, Jacob falls in love with her daughter, because we have to have a happy ending for everyone. It wasn't enought that the vampires freaking sparkle, they also have super-sperm :P

For some reason, I love Eclipse.  I don't know why.  But I was also older than um 20 yeah, 20 when I read them.  And Twilight? Sat on my shelf for about 2 years before I read it. LOL! I bought it because it looked interesting, but I couldn't get myself to read it until just before Breaking Dawn came out.  The good thing about waiting?  I didn't have to wait for the follow ups.

I agree though, Twilight is the best of the bunch.   ;D

Oh, Eclipse. The one where Bella is all horny and "I love him, but I can't live without him, but he is the love of my life, or is he" and never tells Edward to stick it, but slaps Jacob, who is a total looser. Yeah, great book!  :P (Sorry, but I just remebered that all the waiting for the follows up only made me wish Twilight wasn't a saga.)

Then again, by the time I read Eclipse I was already sick of vampires that sparkle and I had moved to better things.

LOL! I can understand that.  I felt that way about the Evermore series.  Started out great, then started to really annoy me in the second book.  I bought the 3rd and never read it.

And? I may have thought differently if I had to wait.  NM pissed me off enough that if Eclipse wasn't already written? I wouldn't have waited for it. So I get where you are coming from.

And for the most part? Fanfiction is so much better.  ;D

My friends kept telling me to read Twilight in early 08 but previously to it, I pretty much disliked any fiction books. I'm more of a history/biography nerd. But I ended up going on a vacation and taking my friends copy of Twi with me. I read it and liked it. I quickly read NM and Eclipse before Breaking Dawn came out. Then I picked up BD to read and HATED it. I had to force myself to read through the end, because I had already read the other 3. I still to this day haven't seen either BD movie. (Not a huge fan of the movies either  ^-^)

Sorry, catching up on some topics here:

Books for YA - my 14 yr old daughter likes the cassandra clare and jennifer armentrout series, also the maze runner. She reads a lot but can't remember the others but the 3 stands out bec if was a series. i also recall a Kagawa series, a Fitzpatrick series...

books for 10yr olds - my son loves the Wimpy Kid and Big Nate series. he's read some geronimo stilton as well.

I just finished Going for Gold and really liked it! But it also had a New Moon separation, though a very short one. I really get annoyed when they separate due to insecurities, misunderstanding or "can't handle this, too soon/too deep/am not ready" (am not talking about s e x here!  ;D). I always want to say "Why don't you sit down and talk about it!" But then i realize
a) it's supposed to fit a character's development
b) the author wanted a twist/drama/angst whatever (still can't distinguish bet drama and angst  :P)
c) it's just a damned story and that's what the author wanted to write
So i just chill out and go with the flow... See how the "reunion" pans out. Still, i always roll my eyes when a story contains separations. That's the only thing I didn't like in Fridays at Noon. That separation was looooooong! however, I love pennyward so i got over it and it will always be in my top 10.

Have to admit i am a sap for the twilight books and movies, bad story/acting and all. Among the books, my favorite is also Twilight. I also like breaking dawn bec i always want to know how things end  ;D New Moon the book and movie I won't ever reread or watch again. well, the movie i can do the first 10 min and the last 15 mins.  :D As you can tell, am Team Edward.

BTW, don't think I didn't notice we have some very welcome newbies here! You know who you are so go ahead and spill your stats. Come join the land of the uninhibited and free yourself  :D

Thanks for admitting that you are a sap for the Twilight books/movies.  I am too! 100%.  I am completely gaga over Edward and he can do no wrong in my eyes!  (I felt the same way about New Moon! I speed read through most of that book)

I love Vampward, but only if it's AU like Vampire in the Basement, Creature of Habit, Business Casual or And With Thee Fade Away to name a few.
Can you tell me what AU means?  Does that mean these are vamps with the same pairings, just a different setting?   I really want to read Vampire in the Basement...  I saw some hideous cover art for it though and it turned me right off from reading it.  Once that image gets out of my head I'll read it.   Do these all have HEAs?

AU means Alternate Universe, so the story line is generally very different.  I ONLY read HEA, so if I rec anything, it will be HEA ;)

I have been waiting forever for this one to finish.  It's still missing the epilogue - but OMG, it's soooo good :)

Ok, so over the big discussion of vampwards I've been making a list and now I'm overwhelmed! (and EXTREMELY excited about new vampward possibilities)  LOL I am trying to figure out which ones to send to my kindle and I'm very picky about which ones I send.     Would you guys mind answering a few questions?

I see Distractions picks up sometime after Edward left in NM.  I read the first chapter and thought it was amazeballs!  Before I get invested, is there a BxE HEA?  I'll be crushed if there isn't.  ;-)

I haven't read Distractions or Broken Angel, but I can tell you that Creature of Habit is HEA.  I think Beyond Time is totally amazing, but it's mostly All Human with just a little Vampward.  Not that I'm saying you shouldn't read it, it's just not a traditional Vampward :)
