I actually have lots of dreams of people chasing me with guns and recently I dreamt I killed a serial killer in self defense. I always figured I should probably quit watching all these cop shows before bed.  I also notice my dreams are more vivid when my brain hasn't has time to process stuff during the day because I'm too busy using it.  Also, when I eat, especially chocolate, too close to bedtime, they can get really strange.  But the worst for me are the annoying dreams where I'm getting p*ssed off at someone, i.e. a store clerk who is standing there ignoring me when I want help, I wake up in such a bad mood :P

But I do know what you mean aboutt feeling like you didn't get any sleep the night before, I just don't think the dreams themselves have anything to do with it. They gave me a low does anti-depressent for a couple months & it helped a lot. Just a thought.

i already take those as well.
But i was never able to find something to relate with having crazy dreams or not, like the chocolate.

Well, I'm not positive it's the reason, but lately I've noticed they are more interesting, or at least I remember them more when I eat before bed. I've always had weird dreams, but I usually forget them as soon as I wake up.

And I watch way too much TV....well, I tend to read at the same time, and surf the web....probably too much visual stimulation before bed as well.....

I remember the first bloody nightmare i had. i was 6 yo, my family was living in Nigeria. it used to rain a lot, so my dad a had step (? im lost in translation here) surrounding the front porch. we werent supposed to go anywhere without our local driver.
So in the dream the driver picked me up at the school and when we got to our house my parents body and my brothers were floating (literally) in a pool of their blood......

I have very, very different dreams about elevators...

I know you're sleeping now, hopefully you'll see this when you wake up.

Have you read Hearts in Darkness by Laura Kaye? Strangers meet in an elevator, elevator gets stuck. He has PTSD and starts to freak out a bit in the dark, enclosed space, so she distracts him. They end up having wild sweaty elevator sex. It was actually one of my favorite reads the year it came out. In fact, I might go read it again, it's that good, and sexy.

Laura Kaye is also a former fic writer, but I don't know who she was in fandom, does anyone here know? I'd like to check out her fics.

The blood is interesting, especially as you say you don't really like blood.  My dreams usually related to being  chased.

Though you have lived in some interesting places, so this may just be your brains way of dealing with stuff.  Truthfully, it probably has nothing to do with blood itself, but maybe loss? Really, only your subconscious knows what it means.

I actually thought The List was cute.  From what I remember, it was like reading Twilight but with an Edward who lets down his "sexual" guard around Bella AND this Bella was not as friggin' whiny as Twilight Bella.  They're canon without being exactly the same as Twilight. (hope that makes sense) Oh and none of that fade to black stuff.

Oh boy, I had anxiety induced night terrors for a period of about 8 months a few years ago so I understand where you ladies are coming from! I still lived with my Mum back then and she'd wake up most nights to me screaming. Now I rarely have nightmares or dream at all.

I was reading one of those free on Amazon short stories today and I'm certain I read it as a fic! I read the whole thing having deja vu, it was surreal.

Oh, You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login completed. It's nice to read a fic set in England that's written by someone who has more than just internet research to go on. I'm only a few chapters in but so far I like it a lot.

They all carry germs my dear. I don't have issues with bugs, per se... but ones that can disolve human flesh, swallow you whole or stick deadly venom in me are a problem.

I fear worms (Seriously, they are NASTY and I dislike anything that can regenerate itself), geese (mean f*ckers), and any type of furry rodent with a tail (mice, moles, etc).

They all squick me out.

I don't like bugs, but I don't have a particularly freak out reaction to anything but cockroaches. I HATE those things, and the movie Creepshow did NOT help.

That's something you don't need to worry about with temperatures of -29!

I'm not sure I want to visit any-more based on that.   :o
