Hiya Astro, I found out where on the Gold coast my family is.  Hervey Bay - practically your neighbours!

So I've been gone for a few days (5 days) and I expected there to be a new thread. But there were only ten pages.

What happened to all that posting ladies?

Anyways, so I'm catching up... and I read about this BAtB... by the way if somebody could explain to me what it is and where can I find it or something. I read the word customward, and my heart almost stopped.  :57:

So if anybody can tell me... please  :-*

I love when this thread becomes Astro's collection of monologues :D

Thank you! I am here to entertain - tip your waitress!

It's those damn timezones! Somehow, I am ahead of the rest of you but I am always playing catchup on here! How does that work!

BTW - I know I said that I was going to find the next great unknown twific, but I started reading A Drink With The Girls/A Beer With The Guys by Carano. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

I am really enjoying it! Light and fluffy and a total no-brainer but it's really good - elements of Sex & The City.

I went a little cold on Carano after More but this has gotten me back on board.

My only criticism is that I flagfic'ed both stories and have to jump between the two stories - but the link above is to Carano's blog and her pdf there has them both combined in the correct reading order. I wish I had discovered that before now! I am up to Chapter 21 of 25!  :-[

Oh sweety...Hervey Bay is not the Gold Coast. It's about 400km north of the GC - about halfway between where I am and the GC. But that does make them even more neighbourish!

Hervey Bay is beautiful - whale watching, the gateway to Fraser Island (I love Fraser Island (refer to the Dark Side: Reply #561 and Reply #564 for some happy Fraser Island memories!)

I think it Hervey Bay might have gotten hit pretty hard with out weather event two weeks ago. I hope they're all ok!

Yet again, thanks for the geography lesson!

I haven't heard from them so I can only hope they are all ok.

I know they are on the seafront looking out towards Fraser Island.

Alice has a secret. She's kept her best friend, Bella Swan, away from her family for a reason. But when Bella comes face to face with Alice's twin brother, due to circumstances beyond her control, will Bella heed Alice's warning to stay away, or will she do something very, very stupid.

Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.

It's dark and creepy and disturbing and just so very good!

If you can ignore SPaG!

You can see why Savvy has written the ending and not me! Ignore my very bad summary and just read the fic!

And then wait for Savvy to upload...

Wow! Do they have a spare bedroom? I'll share a room for a view like that!

Even better - are there any single men whose room I can share???

Not quite 200 pages. The men folks are talking about Charlie and the wolves, Victoria and the newborns, what's to come. Bella is child like but learning.

One thing that's bugging me now is Carlisle's blind faith in Aro.

This annoyed me as well, he's been around for how long, spent how many years beside the brothers, he cannot be that naive?

That might have been where I stopped reading, can't remember exactly because it's been a while. It was right after Carlisle called Aro to speak with Alice and he told her she and edward were hunting.

I'm with you on the flounce pussy thing but I can't believe you can't read CW&IA!!! After some if the crappy fics I read during my A-fic phase, I would have been delighted to have something like CW&IA to read!!!

JUST GROW A SET AND READ IT!!!

Yep, shouty caps! DO IT!!!

Forbidden is not P2P. Same subject matter, but in Forbidden, the relationship between the siblings develops throughout the plot. In IA, it seems to be pure lust. The author has obviously done a lot of research (at times, the fic reads like a uni report), but the character development just isn't there and there are inconsistencies in plot - it jumps around a lot.
Y
I thought Forbidden was well worth the read. IA, nope.

I agree. I've been re editing IA for some time. There are some inconsistencies throughout. The plot is rushed and/or underdeveloped etc. and I've condensed and re worded a lot of information regarding her term paper.

IA was written over two years ago. Sometimes I feel as though I should have never entertained the idea of being a writer as the task ended up being well above my head and expertise. I can't guarantee I am an expert now (leaning heavily towards not even close or never) but I do have a better grasp on the fundamentals. I hope. It's not abandoned. I'm just giving it the attention it should have had in the beginning.  :)

I think it takes a lot of guts to be able to admit that you've done something sub-par, a lot of writers would just bullshit around the topic without actually taking responsibility. I'm interested to see a reworked version of IA and I hope you're personally happier with it this time around. Thanks for coming to post and letting us all know!
