I have a question about spelling.  My son came home with his spellings today and one of them was eery.

I could have sworn the correct spelling of this word was eerie.

I don't want to make a fool of myself by approaching the teacher as both appear in the dictionary??

I have never seen this version used - is it just me?

I have to agree with you.  Some of the stuff my kids come home with for homework throws me for a loop.  My son is in 5th, and with math a simple 689x5 equation is now done in 8 steps of breaking down in algebraic equations.  Forget the spelling words that I dont remember learning till 8th grade.

My daughter is in 2nd and also starting algebraic math.

It always takes me a few times before these acronyms click.... And I work for an acronym!

LOL Ella. That last part had me laughing.

I don't want to approach this particular teacher as I pulled her up when my daughter was in year 1 over a spelling error.  I got the distinct impression it wasn't well received.   :P

My daughter is now year 5 and the way they are taught maths goes over my head!

Yeah I get the feeling that sometimes the 'Teacher" does not like to be "Taught"

What are these about - I must admit I have never heard of the author.

I have now finished Blind Spot and am looking for something new to read.

I've never seen it spelled like that before but seeing as it's in the dictionary I think she'll tell you to do one if you bring it up :D Just let your daughter know it's more commonly spelled with an -ie but not tell her teacher you said that. ;) Also, if you want something quick to read try You are not allowed to view links. My thoughts exactly - that is how I expect she would react.  It just annoys me as these children will spell it that way in future - I suppose I'll just put it in the Auntie/Aunty category.

By the way, whenever I type it on here I get a red line.  Eery!   :D

Got them thank you soo much.   :-*

Hiya, I've downloaded these onto my kindle fire but don't seem to be able to read them properly.  There is no scroll function or text sizing  on the screen - I have to click the arrow at the bottom for the next page.  I haven't tried to read anything on it from a file before.  What am I doing wrong and is there an app I need to get?

Sorry to bother you but I noticed you said you had one before.

EDIT I've just realised that it is using some office pro program to read it.  When I tried to open the pdf direct from downloads it said cannot open file.

If you can't convert the file (recommended!), there are apps you can get that read PDFs relatively well.

I have a Nexus tablet, so not sure if these will work as well on Kindle Fire, but you can get ezPDF reader or Perfect Viewer+a PDF plug in in the amazon app store. I think Moon+ reader also reads PDF files.

Tips for Better Lving
Edward is a self-centered college drop-out, waiting on tables and living an empty life. Redemeption arrives in the guise of a quirky customer who offers him some much-needed advice for happiness. Does Edward have the character to rise to the challenge?

Really good characters. Was written in 2010.

Thanks very much - I'll see what I can do.  Honestly, sometimes I get the feeling books are so much easier - I am totally useless at all this technical stuff!
