I have a regular Kindle.  I had all my 100s of fanfics by type of ward.  Then I had to reset it.  Sigh. I need to reload them all again.

However, if you email the mobi to your kindle? It will stay in the cloud when you delete it. At least mine have. But you have to email it. The ones I just load from the computer? I have to reload.  And it isn't hard if you just have a folder on your computer that you can sync.  I also have mobis of a lot of stories if you need any.

Honestly that was what just sent me over the edge :D :D :D

Girl, you have a man in bed, what the hell are you doing here?
Go s.e.x him up!
*sigh* I know right, our sleeping schedules are so different. He works 9-5 on an app to diagnose Alzheimer's so goes to bed around 10, I'm usually more like 1/2am ;D

Someone asked for hot Rob? Well okay! >:D

What can I say?  I was 5 hours behind in my answers LOL!!!

I keep telling you - time zones suck!!!

Just jumping in quickly before I go back on class. My arse is better today. My thighs are totally destroyed and I have discovered that I must have muscles hiding behind my boobage, because those suckers are sore today. They've been sitting there for the last 40 years, all soft and cozy, and then...

BAM! Shredded!

I have to go teach in 30 minutes - and I have to go down and up a flight of stairs as well as use the bathroom. I'd better go now.

Hmmm - can I get small children to carry me?

ok ladies I have a question for you.  How do you organize all our fics?  I mean i have a kindle fire,  I have over 100 pages on my amazon.com library.  I know i have some dups and not sure if all are on my kindle.  Those books dont include what i have on usb mem sticks.

Can i transfer from amazon to my computer?

And OMG i am such a Noob   :-[ .  I just found out it is best to use MOBI for the kindle and I love it.  I have been doing PDF.  I am tempted to resend all the fics that are in PDF as a MOBI.

Then only issue i see is that with PDF i can remove it from the device and still have it show up on the cloud side of my kindle and i can download as i need.  With mobi if i remove from device it is not on the fire at all,  which means i would have to go to amazon.com and send it anytime i want to start a new fic.  (hope that makes sense.)

I can't help much with the Kindle questions (but Ella already got you there :) ) but as far as organizing fics- I have everything done in Calibre by either -ward, pairing (since I read all different kinds of pairings), or genre (NM AU, Addict, Bully, Vamp, etc) and I do that via tags. Makes it easy when I know I'm looking to read something specific (i.e. Jasper fic) I can tag search and all J fics come up. Then I access my library via the calibre app and...well, that's all I do lol. Nothing too complex but works well for me :)

I feel like everything I read I wanna flounce. Seriously last couple of days I feel like everything I've come across was written by a 13 year old.  :pulling

*comes crawling in on my arse*

Is this heaven? Where am I?

Sigh, still barely surviving. 14 hr days is still the norm.  Good news is that one of the multiple software implementations went live Monday. I have been working on it since August. The second one should go live within the next few weeks. Yes, why the hell do I have two going on at the same time ?

Then I have auditors coming within a month to audit the financials for 2012. Then a few weeks after that I have a quality auditor coming in. Anyone say they want you to manage HR, AP, AR, Accounting, and IT, and ISO/TS, run like a motherf*cker.

Reading? What the heck is that?  Missing you all !

A reply from the author! I'm all a-flutter...and on my phone with no emoticons.

I'm relieved that you took my criticism in the spirit in which it was intended. I like the ideas behind your plot and would love to put my hand up if you ever need a pre-reader or someone to bounce ideas off. I can't write for sh!t but can read and give feedback.

I look forward to reading more from you.

No worries at all :peace: I am looking for a pre reader, I just haven't made my intentions known. I need to first sort out my laptop, which picked a lovely time to crash last week.  :-\

What I need most from a pre reader(s) is straightforward honesty, availability/flexibility and dedication. IA has been passed through several hands over the years, which was a wonderful learning experience for me at the time, but not one that I want to have repeated this go around. I'm determined to finish this since I made a solemn promise to my readers that I would. I need stability now more than ever. Hope that makes sense without sounding bitch-faced or demanding.

What's it about again?  I've been beta-ing for 2 stories that usually update monthly so I may be able to fit another one in.  I don't offer to do too many because my schedule can be a problem as I travel with my job.  I'm afraid if I tell them I could do another, I'd find myself overwhelmed.  ;D

But I'm also canon as far as Bella/Edward go.  You can mix the rest up anyway you want.  :P

Oops! It seems I have a copy of what was there.  I will check it out.  ;)

I think my techtardedness is making me misunderstand your question, but I'll answer anyway.

I save all my books and fics on my laptop. I have a Sony e-reader that's now 2 1/2 years old - I love it, which is good, because it's been the only other thing in my bed for a long time!

There have been a few things that I have downloaded from Amazon (or from other sites - you all know my wicked, evil side when it comes to movies, music and books... - don't judge me!) that have been mobi or azw files that I couldn't open so I downloaded Kindle for PC, but I hate reading from my laptop, so I needed a way to get them from my PC to my e-reader, and also convert them to pdf/epub because that's the best file type for my e-reader. I can also move them onto my iphone and my ipad, and I've even saved some onto the server at work so that teachers can put them onto their interactive white boards for reading lessons. I also share my books - as I would with real paper books - with a few friends who all have different types of readers and tablets.

Anyway, the first thing I had to do was remove the protection (DRM) - I still haven't found a way to remove itunes protection (and I haven't looked for about 6 months because this works for me). I use Kindle DRM Removal that I purchased here: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login and I also use ePUBee DRM Removal from You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

It's really simple - basically, you just locate the file (that is the trickiest part of the entire process) that you've downloaded from Amazon (mine is in a default folder called My Kindle Content) and then you just click a button and it converts and re-saves without the DRM.

Then, I go here: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login and change it to pdf or epub or whatever format I want.

Easy!

Hiya, I just wondered if anyone had read Having everything and nothing by Heartlandgirl95?

I downloaded it last night.  I very nearly flounced on page 1.  I have read about 3 chapters so far. and it is killing me as it seems so immature and predictable.  The writing and grammar are not great either.

Does it get any better or should I give it the flick now?

So Demaris is that a flounce on the fic??

You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
I wish!  :D No, I read it to the very end.... as usual.  Honestly it was nonsense but at least it was well written nonsense with hardly any spelling or grammar mistakes.

God I wish I could give fics the flick...I am the eternal twific optimist.

As soon as any of you mention a fic, I scurry off and make sure it's on my TBR - even if you say it's .

I went over to the Flounced Fic board - and started downloading those too, so I banned myself from that site.

And once I start a fic, I finish it, no matter how bad it is!

So I now have added Feral and Having Everything and Nothing to my never-ending TBR list!

But this is me when I read a good one:

Anyone else old enough to get my corny attempt at humour tonight?
