The 1/2 inch is very important ;)

Believe me, when you are vertically challenged you claim every inch you can.

I'd get a crick in my neck standing next to most of you on here!

That 1/2 inch can be very important in other areas too!

Eat your vegemite!

No...wait...vegemite will put HAIR on your chest - not boobage!

I think the Shred would work for toning instead of just weightloss.

Although I don't feel toned yet - it's more like rigor mortis!

And I'm off to bed - early torture session tomorrow!

Nite nite!! THis is so odd, I'll never get used to conversing with the Ozzies it the middle of the afternoon right now!

:wtf: 30DS won't make me lose weight?! It had better, I'm not putting myself through this torture and not see some movement on the scales..I'm sure I read LD say she lost 2 stones? LD clarify this before I put myself through anymore pain.

I think I might be the smallest at 5' 2 in the mornings...A nurse friend of mine told me your spine shrinks ever so slightly throughout the day so you're smaller in the evening than when you wake up...

Am at a talk where we all schmooze and I feel like a flipping giant! Mostly women here, all under 5"4 or so. Seems to be the case in fanfic too - apart from Rosalie - now I'm thinking I'm just a beanstalk. Quick question - how tall is are you all?
5'4"  :(

you probably wont lose much weight on the scale, but as you get toned you slim down.
thats because muscles weigh more than fat.

so it all depends on your body fat %

Building muscles increases your metabolism which burns fat.  You need to add cardio though, walking or jogging.

also, its a common mistake to think that lifting weights wont make you lose weight.
it works differently on your metabolism. an aerobic activity will have you burning calories only for the duration of the workout.

but lifting weights, and muscular build up will keep having an impact on your metabolism throughout the day. so you keep having a higher calorie burn all day long.

edit: obviously if you are overweight and still need to loose weight you need to add both kinds of exercise. and eat less and more healthy.

Although, based on your friends theory I have probably lost that extra 1/2 inch.

I have a regular Kindle.  I had all my 100s of fanfics by type of ward.  Then I had to reset it.  Sigh. I need to reload them all again.

However, if you email the mobi to your kindle? It will stay in the cloud when you delete it. At least mine have. But you have to email it. The ones I just load from the computer? I have to reload.  And it isn't hard if you just have a folder on your computer that you can sync.  I also have mobis of a lot of stories if you need any.

Thanks Ella,  I would love the MOBI stories.  I dont know if you have access to a quick list?  If not i will try to compile a list.

I am, too lol. I'm always playing catch up and my comments are always so much later after the original post

I can't help much with the Kindle questions (but Ella already got you there :) ) but as far as organizing fics- I have everything done in Calibre by either -ward, pairing (since I read all different kinds of pairings), or genre (NM AU, Addict, Bully, Vamp, etc) and I do that via tags. Makes it easy when I know I'm looking to read something specific (i.e. Jasper fic) I can tag search and all J fics come up. Then I access my library via the calibre app and...well, that's all I do lol. Nothing too complex but works well for me :)

Hmm and Calibre is like a cloud drive i am assuming?  I wonder if Calibre will work on my kindle if I dl the app.  Sorry I am noob at this stuff.

For The Summer
« Reply #5653 on: February 13, 2013, 11:20 AM »
So, finished For the Summer by Camoozle. I think one of my favourite Twific genre is the coming of age story, watching Edward and Bella grow up together. Every Chapter of this story is another holiday spent together and the writer takes us from the age of 12 to 26. from the 80' to Y2K (Lord! Anyone remember that stupid acronym?!) There is a fair amount of angst (I cried a couple of times but, as I said, when I started this I was a hormonal mess) lots of miscommunication and lots of not seeing what's right in-front of your nose. I would recommend anyone who hasn't already read this  (though I'm sure a lot of people have, as it's an oldie but goodie) to move it up the list.

I lost a stone over the course of doing it, but I was also eating ~1400 calories per day and walking a lot so it was likely a combination of all those things. I think that 30DS will make you lose some weight but it's best at making you look like you've lost weight by streamlining your shape and building lean muscle. I'd be very suprised if you don't lose at least some weight, as long as you aren't eating a block of lard every night ;)

Have to say, I expected all your responses to make me feel like a nice, average height.. unfortunately not! :D In my favourite heels (which I rarely wear anyway) I'm dangerously close to 6". I could be a model if only my arse/general body was smaller :( Oh, and my face was different. :D

I flounced this everytime I've tried to read it as it's just gratuitous lemons and not enough plot for my taste. I was hoping the book would have toned this down slightly, but given that it's being touted as an erotic romance I doubt it.

Astro, you can use Calibre with a plugin to remove the DRM from Kindle.  And then most are convertible to epub or pdf.  Some - the tpz ones - are really kind of a picture, so they don't convert.

It works best if you download the ebooks on to your computer using Kindle for PC (or Mac) Though I have used my Kindle to do it as well.

As far as iTunes - you need to go back to iTunes version 10.5.3, then you can download Requiem to remove the DRM.  It is really easy.  You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Actually, it looks like he may have updated it to work with the current version.  My version is 3.3.5 for which I had to download iTunes 10.5.3.  Anyway, easy to use.

When I was running a lot but I still lost too much weight and had to stop, which makes me sad 'cause I love running. I can't seem to increase my intake enough to counteract the exercise I do, the milky based supplements make me feel ill, and at the moment I'm using high calorie juice supplements to boost my calories after riding. This is of course the lazy girls way of gaining weight but I can't physically eat much more than I do. My tummy isn't big enough, I need to suck it up and stuff myself silly, but then I just get ill. I think I'm gonna give it a go, maybe upping the exercise again will make me hungry.

Kill her! Kill her I say!

I look at chocolate - put on a kg. Smell bread - put on a kg.

My metabolism is slower than a wet slug - I actually need to eat more to lose wait. I'm trying to do the eat every 3 hours thing but it's hard to stop for 5 minutes and eat - a new habit I need to form.  :-[

I've thought about yoga. I think it would be good for increasing flexibility too, which is something I want, although I'm scared my old-lady knees won't be able to handle the pressure. Although I have a friend who does Bikram Yoga and swears by it, although the thought of yoga in a sauna kinda freaks me out...

Doing 30DS in Queensland in Summer is like doing it in the sauna! I have the air con at 20C and the ceiling fan on and still melt everywhere! I don't think Jillian approves of my water breaks, either!

Not feeling as sore today - but currently recovering from a 4:30am start and cursing that I still have to dry my hair before I leave for work!

Initially, yes, but plot developed further in.

I read it as a WIP and thought it was pretty good - fond memories but it was early on in my ff addiction.
