Seattle is also on our itinerary. I am travelling with a group of friends and there is only one more, who is Twilight fan, so I will have to be "tame" and "inconspicuous", meaning no squealing, fainting and giggling, just act like a "normal" tourist.  :azn:
Western Canada is very pretty also.  Are you driving?

Seattle is a great place to visit.  Though it does rain a lot. There are some great places around that area. And I love going on the ferries. And Pike's Place Market is fun to visit.  Just don't let them throw fish at you ;)

And the cool volcanoes.  I got to see the area around Mount St Helens about 10 years after it blew. Everything still looked dead. I'd like to see what it looks like now.  The Olympian Penisula is real pretty too.

 :D :D :D
I don't know much about USA geography, but we all learned that these are good fishing grounds, so you had to have been there with your hubby, right? ;)

I've been to New York City once, and Philadelphia. I stood on top of the Twin Towers ...

But I want to see more, the other side of the country... *sigh*

It snowed all week and today we got another 25cm (around 1 foot?) of snow...  >:( I miss the sun!

So, off to cook dinner  :-*

I read Tides by Lambcullen. It was pretty good, but I didn't love how controlling Edward tried to be at times. I like a dominant man in my stories, but I thought he crossed the line a few times- for instance when he found out Bella was going to Seattle for a couple of days, to meet
Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.

But it was still a pretty good read, though not exactly the feel good read I was looking for.

I went out today and got all prettied up, got my hair and nails done. I feel pretty, oh so pretty.

Sounds like you had a great day!

I've been there with my hubby only because his family lives up there.  But originally I went with my sister who lives up there. Every time I've visited her, we've toured something in the area. Also, my mom has family all over Western Canada. So we've visited them a few times. Vancouver Island is really cool & the glaciers in BC/Alberta are really great. Though frikkin cold. Even when it's 78 F out in the middle of summer.

But I've definitely had some great trips up there  ;)

I'm PMS-ing too, which basically means I'm either apathetic, angry or weeping :( Just sit there like grumpy cat the whole time, people generally leave you alone then. Grumpy cat, for anyone that hasn't seen it:

I don't cry, I eat a lot and am very grumpy.

It didn't help matters that my mom just came in and said I have to do something about my face because I'm extra pale today. She also mentioned she is worried since my iron levels are not very high. But I have darker circles under my eyes because of the pms.

I hate using make up. At least I blush easily, so I don't really need blush. I'm too lazy.

By my mom loves being the host and presenting the "perfect" family. S I'm already tired and it hasn't even begun.

How's it going so far? I think there are a lot things to do at such a party (as I've read, never been to a baby shower...) you can busy yourself with so you don't have to interact as much with the guests. Or perhaps you find someone you'll actually have fun with? I hope for the best!

Make yourself a Babyshower Bingo sheet! But don't shout out Bingo too loud... lol
Or...

... start rambling names (the weirdest you know) to confuse the new mom...
... ask her "You sure there's only one in there?"
... ask moms with kids about their birth stories, gory details that puts every vampire war to shame
... look for a bottlefeeding mom and a nursing mom and ask the one why she doesn't love her child enough to nurse it and the other why she doesn't love her husband enough to let him in in the feeding experience
... ask the new mom if she wants to destroy the earth with using disposible diapers or if she wants to destroy the water with using cloth diapers

 ;) at least you will have fun then...  :D :D :D :D :D

its a shame i dont know 2/3 of the guests.

i just told off a couple of boys, oh my god!!!!!!! what hooligans! i seriously was almost screaming at them. and their mothers were mia.
they were messing with the tv, my dads cigars, my moms crystal, turning on and off the lights, messing with the dogs, the alarm system sensors.
i was like: where the hell do you think you are?? this is not your house!!!!!!!
another friend told them off, my mom, and grandma (mom of the pregnant girl). i´ve never seen such hooligans.
one of them kept complaining he was bored and there was nothing to do. I kept saying it was his fault for leaving the house without a toy.
 :D :D

so this little shit mom finally comes and ask me if he was giving me any trouble. i just say: he was, but dont worry, i already scolded him. and left.

 >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

some people shouldnt be parents.

i love kids. but those two were the devil. they were 7 or 8. they should know better. especially after being scolded by several different people.

Well I thought I was the only one bored... I was trying to read but nothing catches my interest. On a positive note I finished The Companion by samrosey. Gotta say not one of my favs, some parts I found confusing don't know if it was the writing style or the plot. I was left more confused then when I started it. So I guess if you like confusing fics go for it if not. Then leave it alone and don't read it

I've seen and lived a couple of those kind of hooligans. A cousin of mine was like that when he was still a kid, the saddest part is that now he is a irresponsible, and I don't want to call him an adult because he isn't one. The parents should be aware of what they're kids are doing and/or where they are and hey deranged, you are right if you know you are going to some other place and you are going to be there for a while, then bring something to entertain yourself

Astro, do you have an electric stove? Only our oven is electric, I think I would die without a gas cook top. I'm in love with out new stove, it has six burners and a built in fish burner/ teppanyaki plate.

I would kill for that stove! I only have a gas bbq and a gas hot water system (that still needs electricity to turn on, so if the power goes out...cold showers), and I have to order in the bottle of gas when I run out - it's not piped gas. My stove and oven are electric. I mostly cook on my bbq during summer, though. My parents have an induction stove - even faster than gas. I love cooking in their kitchen!

Don't be jealous, it is Forks, it rains all the time.  :D I hope I will not feel embarrassed by the whole Twilight paraphernalia, names, etc. But I am looking forward to see the Olympic national park as well, I love taking pictures.

You should read this one before you go: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Adesse Olympus bu Billieboy
Soul mates at five, ripped apart by circumstance at twelve, watch as Bella and Edward gravitate back together while someone tries to keep them apart, for good. Set outside of Forks at the mountain lodge of Adesse Olympus.

It is finished but not marked as complete and quite a decent story. Bella has an eco-lodge and I remember wishing I could visit a place like that as I was reading it.

We have kids over all the time. There is one boy who is trouble, he is 6, we have to watch out for him.
But most of the time we manage to entertain them with whatever. I sometimes buy bubbles for them ( I'm out of stock at the moment) and we have couple of footballs. But I didn't know these people. There were a lot of people we didn't know. So it was an awkward situation.

First time you go to a stranger house and you take your hooligan kid....

Anyway, it's almost over. Six girls remain, my mother is so excited to be with them. They all studied with my brother. Including his ex is here.  I just abandoned the party. :)
