Ok, I finished Youth Without Age and Life without Death by Goldenmeadow. The last 3 chapters were really good. I do feel like I need a bit of help with it though. I feel like I missed the direct connection between the fairy tale and the Edward story. I think I understood the fairy tale part... well, I wasn't entirely sure what came out of that chest at the end but I think it was Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.. And I get that with the Edward story that Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.I wasn't a fan of the Rock Chick series, but I'm not really into that genre... not sure what you call it, but with detective work and all that. I didn't like the Stephanie Plum books either that everybody loves (similar genre). I did however LOVE KA's fantastical series. Did you read those? If you like the fantasy genre you should really check them out.
Motorcycle Man CAN be read alone and you won't be really LOST, but you will miss out on meeting some other characters and wonder why they act the way they do. (Gwen, for instance! She's the heroine of Mystery Man, but pops up all concerned with Tack's love life). I've loved all KA's earlier work, but she's gone stale for me lately. I think the last book I read of hers was the last Rock Chick, which was good, not great. My favorite remains Sweet Dreams, Tate is my boo, love him! But Tack was good too. And Hawk. Lee. Mitch Lawson. Damn, she DOES write good men.
She REALLY REALLY DOES write good men. I floooved her Dream Man series! My OCD doesn't make me read a series out of sequence and i know references will be made about other characters' situation. Matron is right, you won't get lost but i hate not fully understanding a situation/character, like you know there must be an inside joke somewhere but you missed it. Sorta prevents you from getting the full experience Haven't read her fantastical series, am not a fan of sci-fi/fantasy so am highly unlikely to do so despite my knowing i love her work. Haven't read the Stephanie Plum series either. For some reason, i also didn't bother watching the movie... But if that were Catherine Coulter's Savich and Sherlock, i would definitely be watching that! That's the only series of that genre (FBI thriller) i religiously follow. Am trying to avoid the In Death series...48 books?! I may never surface if i start reading that! Don't hate me ruth and demaris!
I think some authors forget about the injuries they give a character. I am currently reading "Crash Into Me" where Bella is in a car crash from the beginning, and its a pretty good story, but I am wondering if some of the things she is doing (lemons) is possible so soon after a surgically repaired broken femur, and with a cast on her wrist. I dislocated my knee 4 times before I had surgery to repair it, and while it is a completely different procedure I couldn't have imagined being that active so soon after surgery.
I totally get what you mean hun, I read a fic sometime ago that Edward had his (right) hand in plaster but apparently he used that hand to finger Bella only days afterwards. Knowing what it's like to have my hand in plaster (several times), it's bloody difficult to wash it properly, pick things up (like a tooth brush etc) etc, so to be able to do that just is a bit ewwww.
Besides the eww factor (and thats a big one), I can't imagine this being comfortable for either party.

OH I used to love the Sherlock and Savich series, but it's been a few years. When I got my Kindle, my reading tastes changed so much, a lot of my old standby authors got kinda...forgotten. One of these days I need to go back and catch up on old favorites like Coulter.I enjoyed Stephanie Plum at the beginning, but quit a few years ago. The character plot never moved forward, and fart jokes and burnt up cars and buildings are only funny for so long before a person starts to want actual character growth. Twenty something books in, and Stephanie still bumbles around, solving things accidentally, and waffling between the same two men. (Ranger all the way, babe!)
Started reading Mystery Man and oh boy do I like Hawk! The two main characters remind me a lot of the characters in Rock Chick but for some reason I like this one much better so far. (20% in).I just realized that the series is actually called Fantasyland and Fantastical is one of the books in the series. If you really like KA you should try Wildest Dreams some time. Goodreads lists it as paranormal romance in addition to "fantasy". It is seriously SO good. KA transports you to a completely different world.
I loved Hawk, but I have to question Gwen letting some strange guy sneak into her bed for a YEAR! I kinda want to reread some of her older books, but I'm afraid they won't hold up. I also guess I should read the latest in the Burg series, but after getting bored and putting aside the one with Ham (WTF kind of name is HAM anyway?), I haven't tried any more.I loved all the Dream Man series and all the Colorado Mountain series , The 'Burg was pretty good, and I even loved the Rock Chick books. It's just her more recent ones I haven't enjoyed. Hated Knight, didn't read the next one in that series.
I was wondering about the Colorado Mountain series... I have that one on my TBR list too. And yes... him sneaking into her bed for that long was a little weird, but I've read crazier things. I was just glad to finally find out that she had met him before. At first I thought he was a totally random stranger.
I just finished re-reading the 'Burg books to refresh my memory before I read the latest installment - The Promise. The latest installment was okay, but not one of the better ones. Despite Ham/Reece being introduced in the 'Burg series, the book about him is actually in the Colorado Mountain series. Go figure.I loved Knight. That was my introduction to KA. I was not particularly impressed with the other Unfinished Hero books. I'm afraid getting a publisher may have watered down KA's essence.
I agree. On the one hand, we don't get such endless descriptions of every single thing the characters are wearing and the decor in the rooms they are in, but her "voice" also got watered down.
RANT! Why?! Why?! Why?! Do author's do this?!"NO! Don't you ever say that. You have every part of my heart, honey. It's yours, I swear. Baby, please don't leave me. I'll die, Bella. (A/N: I'm one major drama queen. Lol.)" OK, forget the god awful writing for a moment, it's done, I can't rant about that, all I can do is flounce, which isn't an option; but for f*ck sake! An AN smack in the middle of dialogue? Are these people retard! I read another fic today where the AN popped up in the middle of a 'scene' to say 'Lemons left to your imagination" Really?! There should be a law! RANT OVER
