Hi
I read a write up of this book - hmm years ago.
Set in the Highlander era.

Its about a woman whose husband died. But she had a hard time with him. I cant remember if they never had sex or if he abused her.
The king then arranges her to marry a man who is - almost like he is a not friendly to people. But I think he was a leader of a clan?
But they both find love. She gives him the softness and kindness and he loves her fiercely.

I know its fuzzy, but thats all I have. I hope you all can help me please?
Thank you!

Could it  be this  Saving Grace by Julie  Garwood

When Lady Johanna learned that she was a widow, she vowed she would never marry again. Only sixteen, already she possessed a strength of will that impressed all who looked past her golden-haired beauty. Yet when King John demanded that she remarry and selected a bridegroom for her—it seemed she must acquiesce, until her beloved foster brother suggested she wed his friend, the handsome Scottish warrior Gabriel MacBain.

At first Johanna was shy, but as Gabriel tenderly revealed the splendid pleasures they would share, she came to suspect that she was falling in love with her gruff new husband. And it was soon apparent to the entire Highlands clan that their brusque, gallant laird had surrendered his heart completely. But now a desperate royal intrigue threatened to tear her from his side—and to destroy the man whose love meant more to her than she had ever dreamed!
I hope I didn't brain my damage... - Homer Simpson

Trying to find this book

Hye guys! I need your help.  :sign0085:

I'm trying to find this one particular book that I've once read a long time ago at a public library. Are you guys up for it? Here are the details...

The book that I'm searching for is contemporary romance. The heroine was running away form her abusive husband. I think he didn't physically abuse her. More like emotionally. Saying that she's ugly and bad in bed, so the heroine is a bit insecure bout her physical appearance. and then the hero need a maid or something for his daughter (if I'm not mistaken) and hired her. Then he fell in love with her. There's this one particular scene where they make love against a tree in the wood or smthg like that.

Sorry if the details are not that helpful and too vague. You see, I keep on thinking bout this book but couldnt find it as I don't remember the author nor the title If you guys recall any book that have a similar storyline just tell me and I'll look for it. Thanks in advance guys!!

Anyone know the title of this book?
« Reply #163 on: December 30, 2013, 04:57 AM »
So I cannot for the life of me remember the title of this book or author and was hoping for some help. Here's a general synopsis of items I remember:

-h up and leaves WashU for Chicago
-turns out h's bf is abusive and she was escaping him
-h stays with friend and friend's bf in Chicago
-h's friend has a drug habit, things slowly fall apart there and then the friend's bf kisses her and declares feelings for her
-all the while h is working as a waitress at a neighborhood pub
-H is the bartender
-H also moonlights as a musician and by the way he's from a rich family (dad a doctor) and passed his MCAT and may apply to Med School
-when h&H finally get together crazy abusive ex comes back and kidnaps her...

giving the synopsis of that one makes it feel like a much more crazy/wonky plot than I realized...

FOUND: novel is by KA Linde

The book is a contemporary romance, set on a Indian reservation.  The hero is a lawyer (he is Native American) and the heroine is a landscaper (?) or architect, anyway she is goes to the reservation to survey some land around a lake because her company wants to build a resort there (maybe).  In the beginning of the book, the heroine is out in the woods (don't remember why) and the hero and his brothers come riding by and scare her.  The guys were in the woods helping their sister with a school project (it might have been a photography project). Obviously the two fall in love and everything works out great.  LOL  I think there are two books in the series, but I could be wrong.

Any ideas what the name of this book is called?

Thanks!

hi,

I tried to remember the book title on my own but so far no luck. This book is a paranormal about a girl who gets a scholarship to a prestigious academy.  she meets her new roommate and a few others on the airport heading to the school. She doesn't know anything about her heritage and when they do a ritual she dies and wakes up in the morgue a vampire. and she is also half fae if i do remember correctly. there is a prophecy about her and someone tries to kill her. the head of all the vampires is her mentor and tries to protect her. in the end of the book he is having a party and his house burns down in a fire and his head security is the one trying to kill her.

can someone please help me with this book, because i like to know if there is a sequel

Thank you :-*

Please I'm going outta my lil itty bitty mind trying to track down 2 things.

A ebook I read a few mths ago....  It's shifter related.
I remember that the heroine is a author of mysteries and has an appt with a lieutenant of a CSI type unit. As they walk thru on the tour and he explains the workings for the unit, he begins to feel as if the woman is his mate. He's a alpha wolf. by the end of the tour he knows she's his mate and wants to get to know her.He has red hair and they made a big deal about the color of his hair and how handsome he was. She also begins to notice him on a more personal level not counting the "crush" she's held for the past year and they both notice as the day wears on that they can "hear" each others thoughts...

I also remember they go out to eat dinner with mutual friends only finding out a few minutes into the dinner that the woman friend who set the appt/tour was also the owner of a "blind date" shifter (not that the author knows they're shifters at the time) type company and thought the couple would make a good match.

I'm sorry I cant explain more. It's a relatively new ebook. I also now remember that it's part of either a spin-off series about a company that does shifter-match dating and the owner of that company is the mutual friend to the 2 ppl in this story.

Please ?  Any bits would hopefully jog MY memory....

I've been trying to remember a book series, that I read sometime back, but my mind is just blank. There are 3 books in the series. The books belong to the Time Travel(adult) genre. The herione comes for a vacation with her lover to someplace, while the hero from the past, along with his brother, comes searching for something or someone. At night they end up meeting eachother in a foggy area between the past and present. They end up having sex. Both of them have to go back to their respective times, but don't want to.The heroine asks the hero to wait for her and goes to her room and packs some essentials and goes back to hero. They both try to go back to the past.He goes but she is unable to.She throws away the backpack and is able to go through. She starts a life with him in the past.He shares her with his brother. They face lots of difficulties but have a HEA ending. The second book is about the brother who gets his own woman from the future. He too shares her with his brother(the hero of the first book). The third book is set in the next generation. The book mentions about the children of the characters of the first book.I think the heroine comes to the past while on an adventure deep inside a cave with her friends. She gets hold of some gold coins in the cave before being pushed into the past. She leads a very difficult but happy life in primitive times. The gold coins attract bad guys who kidnap her and take her back to the caves. They come to the other side(present days). She meets her friends who were worried about her.But she wants to go back in time with the hero. The bad guys die and the herione has her own HEA ending.
Help me remember the titles of these books.
Thank you.

Sometime ago I read a series of books(trilogy) that I enjoyed so much that I want to read it again. But I cannot remember the name of the series. Can anyone help me.The first book goes like this. The hero is the son of the king(shifter or Mage I do'nt remember). He is searching for his true mate for a long time. One day he has a vision and realises that his mate is still a small girl. The girl is routinely abused by her father. The hero has to wait till she comes of age.He invades her mind and her dreams and comforts her whenever she is abused. When she comes of age he goes to claim her.The heroine's mother was a magical person who has an affinity to plants and trees. She dies when her husband destroys her garden. The father is a drunkard and a gambler. The heroine keeps house for him, works to give him money and also goes to school. Her father beats her and her schoolmates tease her a lot.Hero and heroine meet, learn the truth about each other.Hero's friend or cousin beats up the father and they leave the place.Father wants the girl back to claim her inheritance, father's friend feeds off magic ,so he wants her because her magic is powerful.Heroine also has special powers over plants.Evil and good fight, good triumphs, they mate and live HEA.The next two books star two friends, brothers or cousins(not sure) of the hero. Can you please help me with the title of the books.Thank you very much in advance.

I am looking for the following book:

The H has a dating service / website. h is a lawyer (might be a prosecutor). They meet IRL and the H also looks her up online. She is torn between H and her online love (also H, but she doesn't know). A newspaper writes an expose on his dating service, and h learns he is both H and the online guy. She breaks up with him. Shortly after, his nephew gets in trouble with the law, and the h is the one trying the case. I think she recused herself and got the nephew a deal. I remember H had a big family, and his sister was in the middle of a nasty divorce (hence the nephew acting out). h has a BFF I think.

Thanks in advance!!

I saw this posted on Amazon and it sounded really interesting does anyone know what book this is

"I found an ebook that I forgot the name of...its a story of a werewolf who broke up with a woman who he got pregnant (he didn't know she was pregnant-I think it was like a one night fling).

The pregnant woman became homeless, and out of not having anywhere else to go, she sought out the father of her unborn child and came to the family of her child's father. I don't think she knew they were shifters. It seemed to be such a good premise, but, I cannot think of the title to purchase the book. Can anyone help?"

thanks :-*

They are a series of books, forgot the author or book titles. Deals with an evil woman and an group of immortal beings that fight her. I think it deals around the Scotland area. They protect druids. Evil woman is dragged into present by an man who wants to rule with her by his side. I read into several books and the woman and man are both killed, then a relative of the man takes over. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Hi everyone! I am trying to find the title of this book.
The woman is an investigative journalist with a son. She met a politician in a bar and he drove her home. She was investigating a garbage spill or something alike that is polluting the land and water body surrounding the plantation.  Her sons father is also a politician but is not involved with their life. One time during the story, the bad guys trashed her place but she and her son wasnt there. Sorry this is all I remember. I have the ebook somewhere I just cant remember the title and authors name so I cant find it. I hope someone can help!

The genre is action and romance
It is part of a series with different characters but they are all connected through their job as journalist/reporter.

Could it be Pamela Clare's Extreme Exposure?? It's book 1 in the I-Team series. I read it a while back, but IIRC it kind of fits your description

It's been years since her child's father dumped her, and since then Kara McMillan has kept men at bay - although every day she aches more for a lover's touch. But to get that, the hard-boiled journalist must become vulnerable - a feeling she vowed never to have again.

With his dangerous good looks, charm, and power, Senator Reece Sheridan could have just about any woman he sets his piercing eyes on. But he's intrigued by only one. This Kara, this gutsy investigative reporter, has a sensuality that arouses him to no end. If she's a firebrand in print, he guesses, she must be just as fiery in bed...

But this is no fling. A sudden political scandal - and attempts on Kara's life - could very well drive them apart. Or maybe, just maybe, adversity could draw them into a bond even more intense than their steamy sexual embraces.
