Hey, I might have gotten one of those thanks.  I used that phrase once here and someone [perhaps you] commented on it.  Of course, one of the curses of fanfiction is having to deal with people who kind of know a phrase, but don't know how to spell it, misuse words, and have no idea how plural, possessive and possessive plural words work.  However, I will forgive those with imagination and the courage to put themselves out there with their story.  I want to act as editor for all of them, though.  If only I could make a living that way.

Jesus, Yes. I agree. The one I read last night was something like "i had a paper dew tomorrow. blah blah blah blah....I couldn't lye about it any longer". Wth lol

And I agree about his excessive inner monologue in Taste of Innocence. It was...too much.

I think I've pinpointed my issue with Hit By Destiny. I'm at the same part I flounced at before and have been steadily losing interest. I'm all for a doucheward, assward but this one is...excessive. Idk. And I can't handle the f word in every sentence. I curse like a sailor myself, always have, but in every sentence? lol

One of the first stories I read was Alphabet Weekends.  I love the story but hated all the cursing.  Most of my exposure to cursing was from movies and overheard conversations on the street and in Wal-mart, so I wasn't used to it.  So I copied the story and started editing it.  Of course, as I'm doing this I'm reading more stories and quickly figured out that I couldn't edit every one.  Since then I've become somewhat desensitized (at least in my fanfic) and my inner monologue has developed a potty mouth, although I still don't curse much out loud, unless I'm alone.

I still do it some, if I like the plot but the errors are really interfering with my enjoyment, but for the most part it's not worth it.  I'd rather read more and of course, lurk and comment on PTS.

And now we have another thread to hang out on.  Thanks for starting that, although right now I appear to be having a conversation with you in two different places.  I guess that makes us schizophrenic.

I've really toned down the language since having my kiddos (though, I'm not perfect and do slip). Like you, I def'y have an inner potty mouth lol. I have Alphabet Weeknds on my tbr list, though I'm not sure I'll get through it if it's like Hit by Destiny.

It's just....unrealistic (?) to have someone saying the f-word 8 times in 3 sentences. And they aren't mad, it's just used as an adjective to everything. I'll pass.

Another issue? E is a total a$$, to everyone. Out of control and just a douche on every level. And Carlisle and Esme are described as this super chill laid back set of parents who just smile softly and chuckle to themselves when their kid does stuff like come home with cocaine still on his nose? Please.

Well, you have to read what makes you feel comfortable.  I can't read about actual abuse.  And it bothers me when writers stick rape scenes in - unless Edward rescues Bella before the actual rape.  Or when Bella fights the guy off & uses pepper spray.  So yeah, I've not read a number of popular stuff because of that.

And just because Hit By Destiny is one of my favorites, which, considering there is abuse & I read it anyway is weird, it doesn't have to be yours. 

Question for ya: There really hasn't been any abuse as of yet (in real time anyways, obv whatever happened between her and her mom prior) so I'm safe in assuming there's more of that later on? Involving Bella? I don't mind abuse as long as Edward saves her at some point lol
