Frankly, I think it is better to complain about it here where we appreciate it but aren't offended by it than to put those statements in a review where you might hurt the author's feelings.

I agree 100% about the reviews, I started the Fic Words with Friends, it has over 18,000 reviews I read two chapters and thought "was this written by a 5 year old?" Am I so out of step that I don't get it? I finally read 4 chapters in total and "flounced" (happy to revisit is someone tells me it get better) I'm with you re. lemons, they have their place for sure, but I've noticed recently that I skim right over them to try to get back to the plot, so, if there is no plot then I'm screwed. I love YellowGlue for that very reason, she has to be one of the best twific writers I have read and her characterizations are fantastic, her use of words lyrical and her imagination out the box.

I think stephenie meyer  should be blamed for that..Most time writer pick very same chracters & give little variation..Otherwise its always little stupid, confusing, i-not-good-enough-for edward, always forgiving and let evrone walk all over her kind of girl. 

Oh  i also try to read  words with friends when it was WIP.let just say i read review section and it gave me overall idea about fic and i just pass it.

My fav is definately savage.She come up with unique plot & diff edward-bella with every new story..

My husband is fairly easy going about the fantasy - as long as it stays that way.  Especially if it is about a character in a book or RPattz.  He figures as long as it isn't real, it doesn't matter.

Little does he know.....   

I never ever flounce......I just get distracted and kind of forget to finish.  That's my story and I'm sticking to it. 

It is so hard for me not to finish something I start.  And I have ADD, so yeah, easily distracted.  What were we talking about?

Yes, I was a member. You see the acronym in my icon. We were a strong and noisy bunch for years ! ! ! Not many of us were bashful and it wasn't unheard of to have 300-500 comments each day. I understand there were many lurkers on the blog. I definitely wasn't one of them. *giggles*

It was full of adults and some older than I. It was so nice to hear I wasn't absurd over a man named Rob.

Sunday's were fanfic days.

Now we have a group on facebook for the RAoR gang and we still visit and chat on twitter, emails, etc. The blog stopped posting just over a year ago.

Not sure if anyone wanted that history lesson, but at least you know that acronym now, you will see it everywhere. 

OMG I love WWF & WWS - BUT and this is a really big BUT (kind of like mine LOL) I will put up with a lot for Actorward.  And it is what it is, a happy low angsty story.  Don't expect a lot of angst from Nolebucgrl.  If you don't like that type of story, you will not like anything she writes.

I am all for starting a topic on Twifics recommendations and reviews.  Also, we should realize that what I like others won't necessarily like as much.  I am afraid to start a lot of the so called "big" stories because I've found the ones with a lot of reviews tend to be either too angsty or too lemony for my tastes.  I'm like Tami - I need to be able to disappear into a story.  Too many lemons just is not real to me.  And they tend to interfere with the flow.  I actually love UST - the excitement of the wait, when is it going to finally happen??  And if lemons are the only thing the story is about, then once they have sex? Yeah, story is over. 

So that's my two cents....  For what it's worth....

Thank you!  I'm embarrassed to say how long it took me to figure out what RAoR meant.  I kept thinking people were misspelling Roar   .  Too bad I missed out on what sounds like a great blog.  Thanks for the info!
