I have a question for ya'll:

What about a fic will make you flounce? Not necessarily the storyline but more grammatical/spelling pet peeves? I'm just curious

Mine are continued use of "smelt" and "shutters" for smelled and shudder, respectively.

Also....if there are too many short sentences (I think someone on here mentioned it). It seems you just can't get a flow going with those and I always quit reading.

And, if there is an obscene amount of exclamation points used. I know it sounds picky on my end but I just can't handle it. People do not speak or think with that amount of continued excitement lol. I started a fic the other day and I swear, in the short paragraph, just about every sentence ended with an exclamation point.

And if Edward starts calling Bella "love" (or similar endearment) waaay too early in the story. I mean, come on. Guys don't call you 'love' on your second date or run-in.

I know I sound picky but after reading fic for years, there's bound to be some pet peeves develop

I don't mind cheating, especially if I'm in a heartfail mood and E and B end up together. I have to be in the mood for it, though.

Too much angst will also get me to flounce.  I need some humor mixed in to make my angst acceptable. 

Also? Gotta have my HEA.   

Yeppers love my HEA's Angst is for me only if the fic is completed lol. I can't stand waiting for an update when it's angsty..

I love angst personally but the HEA is a must.  I will not read if there's no HEA.  I also won't read WIP.  I've been disappointed one too many times.  I also don't know how people keep stories straight when they read tons and updates can be so infrequent.  I can't even keep the completed stories I've read straight in my mind.  LOL

The majority of fics that I've flounced have been due to bad spelling/grammar.  I flounced a few for bad plots as well.

For those of you who can't read non-canon couples, what if Edward or Bella were killed?  If it was a great, well written story would you be able to read them with someone else?  That's how I got sucked into the non-canon world and I gotta admit I'm hooked now...

I forgot about gay james in mr. horrible. The one I was remembering was in 'I Love College" by clpsuperstar...I think lol

I'm pretty sure that I Love College has Gay Gabe (who I actually love) but I do love a good gay Jake.

I flounce when there are grammatical errors. Incorrect words "Homonyms" make me want to stab my eye with a pen. Biggest pet peeve ever! Please if you say you have a beta and they miss things like this, no matter how good the story line I'm outta there.

Yep, I have to have my HEA.
             Stories by young teens e.g.13 yr olds nope not going to happen........
             If the summary states that they "suck" at writing summaries, I will not even attempt at reading that story.......
             If Bella starts calling Edward the nickname "love", It makes me cringe.

I don't flounce unless its utter crap I flounce MoTu it was horrible.  I don't like fictions when they can't get the voicing right for the characters I just can't get into it.

My Hard limit is Slash and its weird I can read femslash but not the other.  Non canon is like really bad NOT ALLOWED to me so I hardly read it.

I've read some slash, I think they were Jasper/Edward and Jake/Edward but I'm not a fan of it, it definately has to have a GREAT story line or why bother but I've never read any femslash.
