Hi RDMickey :) What sites do you go to for recs? I love checking out new blogs and such for fic rec's

I use google reader and subscribe to tons of sites, so I see every new post in my rss feeds. There is a lot of Rob sites (obviously) and the rest are ff sites. Here are some that I go to. Some sites do nothing but rec's, others have specific days that are ff days.

You might want to change the subject on your post, so that people "searching" for it (and that seems to be one that many people were looking for) can find it easier.  :-*

OMG - I am a brain donor!  I kept changing the TAGS and wondering why it wasn't showing up in the search.   I did change the SUBJECT now, so hopefully it will now show up in the search!   If it doesn't, then I have no idea what the heck is going on.   Thanks for the help Terri!

You can also download directly from TWCS into PDF format.   I think she has a couple of more chapters on her blog, but I can't seem to find the link!   Brain cramp!

Its funny cause I use all the same sites plus facebook alot of girls there recommend all kinds of new goodies.

OMG how many groups I am in at facebook. Daddyward, Kinkward, Domward, FamousWard, Teacherward, Vampward, C,mere Olderward, Mobward, Darkward/Possessiveward/Jerkward, HEA-Ward, CEOward, GeekWard, BritWard, Tattward,  the list is endless. That doesn't even include authors groups.

 Some nights I blog around and never read anything! Like tonight it is 11pm and I get up everyday at 430am, so no reading for me tonight.

 Perving and blogging are just too addictive and I have been doing it for several years. Yup, I'm addicted.

Isn't that so annoying?  I understand the homonym problem as spell check will never catch a correctly spelled word used incorrectly.  But when they don't even use spell check, I get a little annoyed.  And a good beta should catch these things.  But I've read stories by some of these "betas" and they can't spell either. *shakes head*  Though some can put a story line together.  :-\

*snort* It's like when I read "cereal killer"... would totes suck to be a cheerio in a bowl of Count Chocula. Might eat you alive or something. I mean, really? How can you not see that error??

Lol Im in the same freakin groups as you lol plus others.  I get up around 8 but I read and facebook mostly between laundry,house cleaning and meal preps lol

I have a question for ya'll:

What about a fic will make you flounce? Not necessarily the storyline but more grammatical/spelling pet peeves? I'm just curious :)

Mine are continued use of "smelt" and "shutters" for smelled and shudder, respectively.

Also....if there are too many short sentences (I think someone on here mentioned it). It seems you just can't get a flow going with those and I always quit reading.

And, if there is an obscene amount of exclamation points used. I know it sounds picky on my end but I just can't handle it. People do not speak or think with that amount of continued excitement lol. I started a fic the other day and I swear, in the short paragraph, just about every sentence ended with an exclamation point.

And if Edward starts calling Bella "love" (or similar endearment) waaay too early in the story. I mean, come on. Guys don't call you 'love' on your second date or run-in.

I know I sound picky but after reading fic for years, there's bound to be some pet peeves develop


I'm late to the party, but these frequent "sightings" annoy me:

1)  "Bella was a beautiful women" instead of "...woman"
2)  Bella is enrolled in "collage" instead of "college" where they apparently have homeroom and the bell rings signaling the end
      of each class (Do most colleges have bells in the class/building? I know that some campuses have bells that ring in clock
      towers, but that's different)
3)  One thing was for sure, Bella was "defiantly" in love with Edward.  That's right, Bella.  Defy everybody - you're "definitely" in
     love.
4)  Bella is raped by Edward, but she still manages to see the good in him and falls in love with him in spite of his "mistake"
5)  Surprisingly, this one irks me more than #4:  "...popping the p."  I hate that phrase so much!  Once I even read in a fic   
     "...pooping the p."  Best typo ever.
6)  Edward is a complete whore who sleeps with every woman in town, but he doesn't kiss them because that's just way too 
     intimate (and he's secretly saving that experience for Bella).  WTF?
7)  and for good measure:  "chocking" instead of "choking"
                                            "shutter" instead of "shudder"
                                            "hospitle" instead of "hospital"
                                            "it was my entire fault" (this one makes me cringe for some reason)

Please pardon any typos.  I just got back from a trip and I'm about to crash.

Ahhhh 'chocking' it's a favey of mine. Is that even a word??? Oh yes it is... It's a wedge that you put under a wheel to keep it from rolling. So when Bella chocks on Edwards member *eye roll* she definitely has something wedged in her mouth.

It's easier for us to quickly find again. Hum, now that I am thinking about it, How bout the links to the zip files that were posted on the last thread? Just a thought. Don't mind me, I am tired and my brain is starting to shutdown.

I am pretty sure I have you as a friend on fb, but I also remember you at ADF. That was so hard for me to keep up with, the posts, the comments, finding my old comments, etc. LOVE this sooooooooooooooooo much better.

I just read in my local paper that Chatum Tanning wants to be Fifty in the Sahdes of Grey movie *snort* I sooooo don't think so. Lose the baby face and grow a few more inches then you may have a chance. I think this is the funniest thing I've read about this topic in a while :)
