The Quiet Room was brilliant but I know someone who flounced because of the confusing start.  All I can say is all becomes clearer as you read.  Enjoy.

I haven't bought the phone app yet.  I'm trying to figure out how to work it since my new computer is Windows 8 & I can only talk to my network drive when I'm connected to the network.  On Win 7, Seagate has a program that lets you access the network drive from anywhere.  But so far it doesn't work with Windows 8.  So putting my Calibre library there is a pain.

I travel for work a lot. So I got this network accessible drive that I could access anywhere using my computer but only if I had this program installed.  And it won't even load on my new Windows 8 computer.  *mumbles stupid glass of water and non-waterproof laptop mumble* So my grand plan of loading my Calibre library there went poof.  I can access the server from my phone but not my tablet.  Weird.

Fantastic! I restarted it this morning, after reading the dreadfully dark but totally awesome book That's What Brothers Do by Derekica Snake. (NOT Fanfic, I don't think although it was originally posted on adultff.net)

So it's Bella/Jasper with no Edward?

There is a bit of darker subject matter but man. It's such an awesome fic, one that I will def'y be re-reading.

So when I'm at home, I can access the drive via wifi because it is connected to my FIOS wifi thingy with a Cat5 cable.  So it shows up under the network.  But Seagate has this program that when you load it on your computer, you can access the network drive from anywhere.  So traveling with my Window 7 computer, I can get online, open the program & it connects through the internet to my drive at home.  It is supposed to allow you to back up from anywhere, but mostly I use it for music, movies and fanfiction.  My phone has a program that also allows me to access it, but it isn't available on my tablet. 

But without the program? I can't access my home network drive on the road.  And truthfully, there is little else to do in a hotel room at night but read or go online.  Or maybe update my Calibre library 


I'm going to have to try this Bella/Jasper story.  I just can't see reading Bella/Jasper if Edward is around.  But no Edward? I could maybe see Jasper.  Just not Carlisle or Emmett.

(Im seriously sorry for being so thick with this, I obviously have no experience here lol). If you have access without your drive, the calibre app would grant you access to your library from your phone/tab. For some reason it will only work on WiFi vs on your network, but I really hope they change that so your library can be accessed with wifi or not. You probably already know all this lol.

I know you can also access your library via your browser with your IP addy, but I have never been able to get it to work that way.

So my desktop version has a lot of empty columns and duplicate stories.  (I spent one evening clearing off all the duplicates.)  I have a portable drive I could use, but the Calibre guy recommends using a network drive, which I do have, and just sharing it with all the computers.  Wifi is not the issue - I know what you are thinking - syncing between devices and Calibre.  I just want to use my Calibre library on multiple computers.  Plus then my phone can read stuff on the drive without having my laptop on.

I have my caliber libraries linked to drop box and Google drive, and can access it anywhere I have the apps. It's easy.
