Dare I hope that all our fanfic discussions are going to be moved to this new Fanfict Alley, and that all those new book requests are going to be moved elsewhere?

Because my main purpose for being here is the fic, and the other stuff has been getting in the way the past few days, lol!!

(but might I suggest renaming it Fanfic Alley? (no t) Just because it's what we always see it called. :)

I must have drank more wine than I thought...Did we discuss a new a Fanfict Alley on this thread? I've gone back 5 pages and I can't find anything... ??? And what "new book" requests?

Confused( and maybe drunk)  :-[

If you look at the thread sections, what used to be called "general" (i think) is now called Fanfict Alley. Has it always been that way and I didn't notice? I know I have the one main fanfic thread bookmarked, and I always had to click general to get to the main book board, now I click fanfict alley.

All Book requests will be moved elsewhere.  They will NOT remain in the forum.  Hang in there for another day or so and they will all be gone.

Fan Fiction Alley is all Fan Fiction.    General was changed to Fan Fiction.  Uploads of Fan Fiction is still allowed.  We moved Bookstore Cafe to allow a place for people to talk about books.

If you know of another Fan fiction thread that needs moved to the Alley let one of the Mods know.
If you run into a post that belongs in Bookstore Cafe, tell one of the Mod and we will move it.

Can someone please spoil for me a bit, Luxuria and Avaratia by Nia-Ox? Luxuria is tagged Bella/Jasper, but the sequel is tagged Bella/Edward! Can someone give me minor spoilers (in tags of course) of how the heck this happens?

EEK!  So excited!  Found an awesome Em/B time travel fic :)

Time Will Tell by December Jinx You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

The Cullens left Bella, but she holds herself together. Jasper returns to her, asking for forgiveness and her help. Alice is not well, and he needs Bella to go back in time with him to help her. Will Bella find love with a different Cullen? B/Em, J/A, E/R

Well written, an original plot (so far).  Yay!!

I just finished Time Will Tell and it was rather good.  However, the author left it very open ended with talk of a sequel and a prequel. And that was in 2010.  I would have liked a few things to be resolved with this story before it was marked complete.

Rec: A Getty Romance by rinabina

Last night I finished A Getty Romance by rinabina You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

It would be impossible for Bella to love anything more than her job at the J Paul Getty museum. That is, until a handsome, bronze-haired, fine suit-ed young man breezes through her gallery. A love story within the walls of a museum.

I really enjoyed this. The chapters are short and each one was like a little snapshot of the development of B&E's relationship. Not too angsty and HEA.

Give this one a go.

I read it so long ago I can't remember the details, but the third story in the trilogy, Superbia is Jasper/Bella again...
You held out your hand, and I took it without stopping to make sense of what I was doing. For the first time in almost a century, I felt hope.

Thanks Ella. I have never looked at another part of this site. I have this and 152 part1&2 bookmarked and I never go anywhere else; hence my confusion.

The Kubler Ross Model
« Reply #1691 on: November 12, 2012, 05:44 AM »
I've just read The Kubler Ross Model by Jadeandboring (God I love these authors names!) and I'm about to move onto it's sequel Tie Me Here in Time. The author pulled KRM from fan fic, as she states, for personal reasons and as I finish this story I can't help but speculate that KRM might be based of factual events. The story is compact, only around 9 chapters, heartfelt, honest, nicely written and it made me cry ( damn it). I'd give it a 3.5 out 5. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Tie Me follows through in the same way.

Does anyone know if The Orbiting Meteor by Idreamofeddy was complete enough to read (even though it's def'y not complete)?

I saw a comment somewhere that there was enough there to make your own HEA and feel somewhat satisfied with it but I don't want to start 650 pages if not?

I finished up Midnight Margaritas by Writerwithabite. Bella/Jasper, all human. It was a cute story, had some writing/editing issues (several instances bottom was used where button should have- belly bottom, etc), fairly angst free.

But I find that I much prefer Vampire Jasper, so I'm about to go through my mighty TBR again for my next read. I'm thinking about A Lesson in Release, anyone read this one?

This is a four part series, with at least one side shot.  I did read all of them and they were ok. The first is the only Jasper/Bella in the series.  The rest are Bella/Edward.

IIRC the writing is good.

Well that just makes my head hurt.... Not sure I'll care for all that waffling back and forth.

Midnight Margaritas is part of a series? I didn't see much more on FF.net, just a couple of one shots

I think that she meant the other one you asked about? A Lesson in release maybe?

*sigh* guess I'll just read the first one then. I don't like series that switch between heroes, I want the same one throughout.

I am browsing all the rec sites trying to find something to read. When I say something I mean a well written, hea, B&E Fic. There are so few new fics that fall into this category. I spend a lot of time rereading(?) old fics or trying to find fics that have been pulled. Is it just me feeling the loss of really talented writers. I know quite a few have gone on to better things but where is the new "crop". Maybe, with age, my taste are more discriminating. WTH, maybe I'm drunk and have no idea what the hell i'm saying.
I would ask you to pardon the rant, but I guess this is why this forum exists .....express yourself.
So, you of discerning tastes, please tell me I way off and I need to delve a little deeper to find the currently good writers.
p.s I may be a little inebriated. Did I say that already?

A Fantastic story that just completed yesterday is Letters to Corporal Masen by Solostintwilight You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login Summary:  Writing to offer a bit of home to a soldier overseas, she discovers words can bind a friendship. Lonely in war torn Europe, he finds hope in letters from a stranger. What happens when the war is over?
It is a great well-written story that you just don't want to end.  Give it a try.  Her other story: The Biology Project is also very good :-*
