EEK!  So excited!  Found an awesome Em/B time travel fic :)

Time Will Tell by December Jinx You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

The Cullens left Bella, but she holds herself together. Jasper returns to her, asking for forgiveness and her help. Alice is not well, and he needs Bella to go back in time with him to help her. Will Bella find love with a different Cullen? B/Em, J/A, E/R

Well written, an original plot (so far).  Yay!!
You held out your hand, and I took it without stopping to make sense of what I was doing. For the first time in almost a century, I felt hope.

One of my favorite time travels stories, actually one of my favorite stories period, is Living Backwards by CiaoBella27.  Read it if you haven't, it's really good!

Summary: At 27, Bella Swan is not the mousy and shy girl she once was in high school. After hitting her head, she awakens to find herself back in 1999 during her senior year. How can you go back and repeat history when you aren’t That Bella anymore? ExB, AU/AH

I have it in mobi.  Does that help you?  And is it complete?

The Long Way Home by eviekinz is complete - the last chapter is an outake/futuretake. I don't recall there being (much) kinky stuff. This is from the a/n for the last chapter:

This contains elements of role play suggesting rough sex. I assure you, it's all in good, dirty fun for these kids. Everyone is consenting.
Interesting fact, I researched that one of the top sexual fantasies for women is being taken against their will and/or playing the victim…who knew.

How many chapters does your copy have? Mine has 35 is that all of them Astro?
Another question, Training the Cullen, author pulled to publish as a trilogy, right? Is that all out of the one fanfic, TTC? Or is there more?

So you're saying where I live is the right next to whoop whoop.  You drive a few blocks west of me and there is miles of nothing.  Actually I used to live in whoop whoop but we moved a little closer to civilization a few years ago.  ;)

I love the word bogans. If it means what it sounds like, we have some across the street  :P

This is whoop whoop:

The term bogan is Australian slang, usually  self-deprecating, for an individual who is recognised to be from an unsophisticated background or someone whose limited education, speech, clothing, attitude and behaviour exemplifies a lack of manners and education. While bogan is widely recognised, localised names exist that describe the same or very similar groups of people.

A fascinating beast,  the majority of the species are hideously repugnant and unintelligent, and yet they manage to breed in ever-increasing numbers and populate an area known as the outer west. It is quite common to find five or six offspring in each family group, often with a different father for each new baby.
Their habitat consists of a weatherboard or brick-veneer dwelling and is characterised by an early-model Holden or Ford in the driveway surrounded by a group of males discussing why the carby is stuffed and the results of last night's footy (a primitive gladiator-like spectator sport enjoyed by most bogans).

The female of the species, while smaller in stature, is far more loud and aggressive than the male. While the males tend to be very friendly and congregate with other males, the females spend most of their time in supermarkets and shopping malls, using a shrill high-pitched call to discipline their children and contact other females.

Males and females rarely interact socially except during breeding season, which is otherwise known as Friday night. During this time, females are allowed to enter the male-dominated area known as "the pub" and display their impressive coloured plumage to a prospective mate.

Herein lies an intersting phenomenon. Males will often fight over a particularly attractive female and she will mate with only one male, while some less attractive females have been known to have several partners simultaneously.

These are bogans:

This is SUCH a good fic. I loved it!! I think it was one that I didn't "put down" until I read the whole thing pretty much. It doesn't go down hill at all.

Oh! OK, whoop whoop, as in " it like whoop whoop out here" for a remote, underpopulated area?
I am enjoying Whatever Works, so far it seems like one of the better Actorwards I've read....

Hmm. I don't know if I'd every say, "it's like whoop whoop out here", unless maybe you addde a 'freaking' or 'bloody', but places aren't like whoop whoop because it's not a specific place. You'd be more likely to say, "It's in bloody whoop whoop" or "She lives in whoop whoop" if you were out in some place you may say "I'm in whoop whoop".

If you were talking about the Outback (or more likely the desert) you may also say Never Never.

I'm in love with the words "whoop whoop"! No idea why?! These bogan's look remarkably like their English cousins, here we call them Chavs, they are a fairly new category of the human species that came to light in the last 10 years or so...Some have pinpointed the emergence of these new Warts on the Butt of Humanity by the ill fated Thatcherite policy of selling off government housing to its, primarly, Working Class occupants, elevating them to Middle Class by default, whereby giving them the spending power (as house prices in the UK went through the roof in late 90's) but without the appropriate education or good taste (depicted by the wearing of excess "bling" and designer logos. Burberry almost took out an injunction!). Personally I just blame reality TV!

Finally caught up with all the posts...   I can't remember who posted it, but the post about all the different ways that author described the "disco stick" REALLY cracked me up!

And someone posted that they really liked Pound of Flesh...   I think this might be next on my list.   I generally prefer Vampward, but I think I'm going to try this anyway.

I guess bogans live everywhere and evolve to suit their environment.

The original Aussie bogan would have been wearing black or acid wash jeans, a blue singlet, a flannel shirt and ugh boots, with a mullet and a loud car, unemployed ("on the dole" ie receiving govt benefits), smoking and talking with a very strong, very nasal Australian accent.

So proud *wipes tear*

LOL! Singlet sounds so much better than wife beater which is what we usually call those shirts.  Though normally, the typical redneck - our equivalent -wears white or black only.  But mullets can still be found.  :)

Business in the front, party in the back. Gotta love the mullet. Sometimes I think they're coming back down here, I've seen my fair share of them recently.

As for singlets, in summer I live in singlets. If I didn't I'd have the most spectacular farmers tan, since I wear jodhpurs so much. I've taken to riding in my shorts though now, so I can get some colour on my legs; sunscreen is my friend.

Wife beater is such a silly name for a singlet! Who wants to name a piece of clothing after something so heinous? Sometimes we call them tank-tops on girls if they have the slightly wider shoulder straps and singlets if they have the really thin ones. I just call it all a singlet.

Another name that always made me giggle was 'turtle-neck'  :D :D :D. We call them skivvies or a polo-neck if it's a jumper. I can see the alliteration though.

Well, actually girls don't wear wife beaters, we wear tank tops.  Wife beaters are more the undershirt guys wear but without wearing a shirt over it.  I don't really know where the name started but it usually is associated with bogan types ;)

Ahh see here it's all a singlet, sometimes a tank-top on a girl, but more often singlet.

Maybe we could be really classy (read: sarcasm) and stereotype bogans/rednecks as more likely to beat their wives?

Gosh, looking above, my spelling is rubbish today. It's the warm weather, it's fried my brain, the dyslexia is out with force.

Although speaking of spelling/ grammar, the misuse of apostrophes in fics is slowly driving me nuts (it may just make me loose my mind  :D). I was reading one this morning that I had to give the flick. For gosh sake if it's plural you usually do not need to use an apostrophe people! Only when the word is already in plural form!

I found a lovely site I would love to send so many writers and betas to: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login maybe this would make it easier for them...

LOL! Singlet sounds so much better than wife beater which is what we usually call those shirts.  Though normally, the typical redneck - our equivalent -wears white or black only.

The blue singlet - known as the Jackie Howe - has a special place in Aussie "fashion" history:

Jack "Jackie" Howe was a legendary Australian sheep shearer at the end of the 19th century. He shot to fame in pre-Federation Australia in 1892 when he broke the daily and weekly shearing records across the colonies.

Howe was born at Killarney near Warwick, Queensland. On 10 October 1892, Howe shore 321 sheep in seven hours and 40 minutes at the Alice Down station in Queensland, a faster tally than anyone had before achieved. In the week beforehand, Howe also set the weekly record, shearing 1,437 sheep in 44 hours and 30 minutes. Howe's daily record was beaten by Ted Reick in 1950, but Reick was using machine shears, while Howe's hand shears were little more than scissors. Howe's weekly record stands unbeaten as of 2005.

Jackie Howe became the name given to navy blue singlet tops. According to legend, this is what Jackie was wearing on the day he broke the shearing record. They are still popular today among Australian males.

Now, I think Wikipedia might be stereotyping with that last sentence. Please don't think that ALL Aussie men walk around in their Jackie Howes - this is one criteria that differentiates between the bogan and non-bogan.

Normal men might wear a Jackie Howe when doing yard work etc - and being dark blue they actually look better than former white that becomes a stained mess - but very few would wear it in public. Our menfolk can actually be quite stylish - picture Hugh Jackman and Chris Hemsworth.

Better yet, picture Hugh Jackman and Chris Hemsworth with no shirt at all...

I've been a busy girl this week (reading that is ;) )

A Voice In The Darkness by nickeyd26 You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login is a Carlisle/Bella Vamp/Human story.  Very good story, well written for the most part, good plot and characters.  My only beef with it was that the author seemed to never want to use the same description for lemons twice, which lead to a lot of descriptions that made me want to lol or roll my eyes.

Examples:
  • She leaned up to meet his lips with hers as she thrust upwards to make contact between her chalice and his sword.
  • Carlisle was overwhelmed by the exquisite heat he felt as she welcomed him into her inner sanctum
  • she slowly impaled herself on his ice cold disco stick.
  • He swirled his tongue around her swollen clit a few times before dipping into her love box.

 :D :D :D :D Her chalice and his sword? ice cold disco stick?  :D :D :D

The one I'm reading right now doesn't have a problem with describing lemons the same way twice, but the author goes between either:

Her bundle of nerves

Her pleasure button

Why she doesn't just say clit, I don't know. That is much preferred to "pleasure button". I picture a keyboard button every time lol

I'm reading the Whitlock Saga by Mortissues, (on book 2 now), and while the story is really good, some of the writing is driving me batty. This author is really "hicking" up the characters. ANYTHING that ends in "G" has it dropped, so it's all lookin' and thinkin' and doin' and lovin, and now, she's even dropping the "d" off of and! So we're now thinkin' an' doin', and it's driving me nuts. It started out as just Jasper, but now Bella is doing it too, and since the story is told in her POV, it's everywhere!

The second story isn't holding my interest as much as the first one did. What I like the most is the fall in love, the denial, the pursuit, the final giving in and admitting the feelings. I think that's why I haven't read any vampward fics yet, they're already in love, how can they have that fall that I love?
