When I first discovered communitues/collections on fanfic.net, I couldn't get why there were so many with 0 fics, while the story count in the description at the top would say that there were a heap  :-[

When you go to a community, you need to click on the "Rated" box (then click go) to see all of the fics in the collection.

This one actually has 21.
Oh, Pervy Knickers what have you done?! :omg: I am now stuck in a vortex of communities, it's like the Bermuda Triangle, once in you can't get out. I'm following, alerting, saving, joining like a Nutnut! As if I didn't have enough fic hording problems. You've sent a barely functioning Twific addict into Twibar....Off to find a Twi Fic Anonymous meeting to restart the first of my 12 Steps program :(

OK Ella, you know actorward, do you recognize this?

E is an actor who goes to Forks and meets B, they fall in love. Tanya is the maid and leaks pictures to the press. B gets pregnant and they have a daughter.

Someone on FB is looking for it.  They think it may have been pulled.
I've heard of this one, but I haven't read it because I think it was never completed.  I will look when I get back to my computer ;)

Wow! M rated Harlequins? They use to be Mills and Boons, sexier, naughtier sister, I always thought..if they are M rated what are M&Bs now?
We don't actually get M&B here in the States.  I picked up a few years ago when I was visiting Canada & found a used book store.

The Harlequin Romances were the PG rated ones here.  The Presents were always a little racier - premarital sex and all  :o  I always found it to be funny, but then when I started reading them in HS, I bought most at the thrift store, so they were usually old.  ;D

I've heard of this one, but I haven't read it because I think it was never completed.  I will look when I get back to my computer ;)

I actually know this one!!! The prologue is Edward watching the love of his life sleep - but she has blue eyes.
Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.

Towards the end Emmett is dancing naked to (I think) Queen and they all walk in on him. He is extremely protective of Edward's daughter and Emmett cries when they take her to her first day of school. Later Edward and Bella have hot s e x on her desk.

I did a quick search this morning but had an extremely important appointment (nails!). Now that I'm back home I'll go for a more thorough search. My OCD won't let me quit!

Ta daa! It's The Long Way Home by eviekinz.

I'm not sure how accurate my summary is - it's been a while since I read it and all the Edwards and Bellas start to blur after a while.

Now this is showing my age - I remember when I jumped from the Sweet Dreams series, to Sweet Valley High to Harlequin and M&B - this was s e x education in an all girls boarding school in Australia in the 80's!

Then I read Lace by Shirley Conran - this was the Fifty Shades on the 80's.  I was 16 when I read this (illicitly - elicitly, Ella? :P) and I NEVER knew you could put goldfish THERE!  If you don't know this book google "shirley conran lace goldfish scene"!

Oh dear - I really do sound like a pervy knickers!  :-[ I promise I am a fine upstanding Australian citizen - I'm a school principal, for goodness sake!

Hmmm.... I loved Rosemary Rogers...Steve & Ginny did it everywhere which was shocking considering it was a historical romance LOL! But I think for me, Scruples was the biggie I read when I was a teen.  Okay, I was like 18 when I actually read it.  But really, I love mysteries and some scifi.  So mostly I read this stuff between the heavy murder mysteries.   ;D

Well, I googled it and it looks interesting.  Though I always wonder how it compares to the stuff they do now-a-days.   :57:

Now THIS is illicit!

Naughty, naughty ladies; don't be too illicit now, you could land yourselves in gaol  :P

Now, I just finished reading Better Than Pie by Savannavansmutsmut (Oi lordy that's a mouthful).
Bella decides marriage will solve her financial problems and auctions herself off as a wife, only to be bought for an unsuspecting Edward by his meddling but well-meaning Down Syndrome brother, Emmett.
You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

It started off with a somewhat outlandish plot, but then halfway though hooked a bloody uey and was suddenly trundling off in a completely different direction. There were a couple of times when I wanted to yell at Bella or Edward to grow the f up, but not enough to make me flick. None the less I enjoyed it, it was pretty light hearted and overall well written. Emmett is a blast in this and by far the best character.

It's marked as humour/t7608 and while it's not laugh out loud funny it's definitely in no way serious. There is a pregnancy, however the sprogs only appear in the last chapter, so never fear, it didn't change the tone/ flow of the fic as usually happens with Bella up the duff and dealing with ankle biters.

Edit: Didn't really say this well enough first time around - I really did enjoy this fic and I would recommend it, especially if you want something free of angst that you can have a laugh at/with.

Goldfish!!!

THERE!!!

Yes - THERE!!!  :o :o :o

(The goldfish thing happens in Lace 2 - and that is not available in Australia as an ebook. Censorship, perhaps?)

If anyone came anywhere near me with a goldfish I'd take an early mark and be outta there flat chat. There are certain things (i.e. live animals) that are just not supposed to be utilised when doing the naughty. Na-uh.  :sign0135:

Yep - it would be just my luck that the Australian Federal Police are monitoring this website. Any minute now they'll be knocking on my door to arrest me for book piracy.

Then they'll discover that I am also downloading The Vampire Diaries and reading copius amounts of Vamp NOT ALLOWED!

If I suddenly disappear from here, please send bail.

Although if I end up in Pirate Jail with Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom...

That's why I still remember it after 24 just a few years! Imagine reading it as an innocent teenager - while hiding away at a school that my parents spent a small fortune sending me to for a good christian upbringing!

If you end up in pirate gaol with Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom I wouldn't be bailing you out, I'd be joining you sister!

Although I don't think that pirate gaol is the AFP's preferred correction centre, unfortunately for us we'd more likely be sent to some heinous women's gaol out in whoop whoop.

Well, after all this I'm off to make strawberry custard tart; maybe I can bribe those AFP officers with my sweet treats. Hehe.

Well, I'm already about 50km north of whoop whoop, but if you're making strawberry custard tarts, I might be hiding out at your place soon.

This is why I need to see profiles - so I can just turn up when other's lives are better than mine! ;D

Give me a call if you both end up in jail with Johnny and Orlando because I'll need to be there as well, I pretty sure I could be there in at least 30 mins depending where you are in Oz.

I don't think the AFP would go for a strawberry tart but hey, let me taste it first and I'll let you know.

Just finished reading A Pound of Flesh by Jaxon22 and enjoyed it.

However, I think someone else mentioned that once they get busy  ::) then they go at it like rabbits but I just skimmed them and I must admit it kept my interest.

Rec: A Friend in Heaven by Winndsinger
« Reply #1619 on: November 09, 2012, 11:56 PM »
I just finished A Friend in Heaven by Winndsinger You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

It is the 1980's and Edward left home 10 years before to feed off the living. He is becoming very dark and isolated from humankind. Then he attempts to save a young God-loving girl and must watch over her for a few days. Some bondage scenes.

Winndsinger also wrote The Red Line and Colouring Outside The Lines. I thought this actually a better read than her more "popular" (more reviewed) fics.

A Friend In Heaven is basically the prequel to Twilight - set in the 80's it tells the story of what happened to make Edward return to Carlisle.

A few points:
* The "bondage" referred to in the summary is not "Fifty Shades" bondage - the main female character, Sammie is kidnapped.
* Bella is barely mentioned but it is a HEA for Edward/Bella - because it's a prequel and set in the 80's Bella wouldn't have even been a glimmer in Charlie's eyes.
* Grammar etc is not too bad - but I am getting better at ignoring some things or just reading right over them.
* It's not too long so even if you hate it you haven't invested too much time in it (Ex-Factor anyone?).

Next up for me - A Getty Romance by rinabina You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Any thoughts? Should I give this one a go or skip it?
I'm STILL working my way through the As! :banghead:

Has anyone read This Life by CaraNo?

I started reading it and made it to the 14th chapter before I bailed.  I love CaraNo's stories so I was really looking forward to reading this, I just want to know if I bailed too early and it gets more exciting.
