I have been trying to catch up on all the threads. Just about impossible. You guys commenting on your attention span made me think of this pic. Dunno why, it is not bunnies, but bubbles. Anywho, too sweet not to share.

I love that the bunny and Rob appear to be doing the rollover action together.  Too cute.

I stopped reading Dusty because it was too draining emotionally. I am waiting to see if there is a hea and then go from there. I read Toye ( I think that's the one) and was soo upset....I decided only hea for me. Reading is my happy place, I can tolerate the angst and drama as long as the end is wrapped up nice and neat. Dusty is so beautifully written, but these authors are really putting Bella and Dusty through the ringer. I really can't take it anymore.

Pardon my senior moments and my poor search skills, but i recall someone here or at the other board mentioned that Gabriel's inferno series is based on university of edward masen? Is that right? Haven't read both so am wondering which one is better.

Btw, finally finished EP. Loved it, angst and all. Reading the outtakes now.

After lonnnnnnnnnng time i found story that hold my attention from 1st chp to last and i can add in my  fav fic list.  i just finished it.  :-*

so let me start  >:D

A New Normal
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Author: kdc2239
Bella's perfect world is crumbling around her. She feels as though she's drowning when she meets an angry, broken Edward. Can he save her while living in an abusive nightmare of his own? Can they save each other?

This is  highschool fic..But there is no HS drama. well it  is not much spoiler since it mention in very 1st chapter that bella's dad has cancer & Edward has his own family problem. There is no nonsense drama of u mostly see in HS fics thet EB has problem in thier realtionship, break up, make up.[ mind u if it well-written i dont mind that  ;D ].Infact thier realionship just get better & stronger.  :sparklyheart:

I loved how beautifully chracters are written in story. This EB are 16-17 and they are exctly written that way.some times i dont like when EB beahve like 30 yr old when they or  thier family is going through hard time.I also like that while dealing with difficult subject this author didnt bore us but keep attention on EB and give us thier little dose in every chapter.

I have to give credit to writer by creating amazing supporting chracters..My most fav chracter after edward-bella are Charlie-Renee..I am not fan of charlie-renee..Neither in twilight book nor in fanfictions. It always annoye  me that Renee is all the time childlike with no responsbilty & charlie ignorant parent but all ready to give his 2 cent in bellla's relationship life & give edward evil eye.. So it was shocking that i loved them so much in this fic. :omg: They were actually written as a very good parents role-model.I would say this charlie-renee give mostly positively written carlise-esme run for thier money.

Note to yourself there is no physical abuse or any violance..but still grab your tissue.

P.S:- This story is written by same writer who wrote 1 of my fav story with protactive, sweet homelessward in Fuggiasco.i saw in her profile that ,  this is her 1st attempt at writing. So if u mind any flaw here & there go easy on her.well i didnt find any.  :cheesy:.Its shame that it has only 775 review.  :o

You are correct about the Gabriel's Inferno series being based on UoEM.  I haven't read Gabriel's Inferno so I can't comment personally, but I remember someone else commenting that it wasn't as Dante heavy as the fanfic was.
You held out your hand, and I took it without stopping to make sense of what I was doing. For the first time in almost a century, I felt hope.

I've  read Gabriel's inferno and I LOVED IT, it was the book that bought me to fandom. I had no idea that it was based on a fan fic until I'd finished and went online to see when the sequel was being released, I saw all this chatter about it being based on UOEM which was a twilight fan fic. I was so confused! "What the hell is a Twilight fan fic?!" I thought; the rest is history.  I haven't read the original story so I'm not best placed to compare but Inferno was brilliant.

Gabriel's Inferno, and Gabriel's Rapture is UOEM. I read UOEM as a wip. Waited anxiously every Sat for an update. I remember being enamored with a fanfiction written by a man, since I crave EPOV. If you read the book you will see it is dedicated to Mia. If memory serves(and it is not as good as it use to be), SR found fanfiction when his wife miscarried after waiting a long time to get pregnant. Not being able to sleep, he found fanfiction, and eventually started writing. Mia was the daughter that they lost.  After non-stop writing to SR, he is writing a third book about the professor and Julia, of which will take us further than the fanfic did. It remains one of my all-time favs, although Dante is not my thing.

Over a nice cup of coffee, I have been playing this morning.

  • Imported all of my fanfics, books, etc. (that took awhile)
  • Added fanfiction downloader and a few other plugins.
  • Added a Yes/No drop down filter column and Labeled it Read
  • Added a Yes/No drop down filter column and Labeled it Complete
  • Now I am adding tags, etc.

Geez, this is a big project.

Hum, DRM's - I haven't tackled that yet, but I need to learn. Pointers?

God I feel awful, I'm the one who asked for suggestions for storage and I'm now too sacred to tackle it, it sounded mind boggling at 5am this morning. But look at you Ms Thing! Was it easy to do? I'll start to tackle it now...*big sigh, shuffling off*

BTW what are DRMs? I saw that eye-roll! Come on ladies! You all know I am S.H.I.T.E at abbreviations!

Really easy for you! LOL!
Here's the link to the blog I used for directions and links to removing DRM from ebooks.  Works great for me.  Mostly I download to the PC version of Kindle - the easiest way.  When that doesn't work, I plug in my Kindle and do it from there.  The Kindle method requires the serial number of the Kindle to be input.

Nook books require the credit card number associated with the B&N account.

But mostly? It is easy.

I may need to do Calibre for the ones I actually want to read and not the stuff I download just because I'm a hoarder. It might be better that way.  ;)

Yeah, it helps if I remember to paste the link in  :-[

Am quite hopeless really.

Even got lost following the detailed tutorials for Calibre DRM removal Infinitely Bookish and jessadia so kindly placed on here.

I really am rubbish when it comes to technology.  :(

DRM = Digital Rights Management.
It can stop Calibre from converting from one format to the other.
