Hmmm - I use IE - and always have.

So I tried in Firefox and no + signs!

I hate using Firefox though - I only use it for ADF because IE didn't like it (it does now but I've never changed back).

So, how do I fix IE?

ETD: I don't know if this makes a difference, but it only seems to be with this site. When I d/l from other sites, no problems.

Urgh. I can't really help you with that then. I'm the opposite of you. I love Firefox and Chrome. Can't stand IE, drives me absolutely bonkers, I avoid it like the plague and as a result know nothing about how to fix it. So anyway, despite this being the blind leading the blind; do you use a download manager plugin?

The plus signs showing up indicates an issue with the  URL data path encoding, at least I'm pretty sure it does, IE often has a problem with converting +s to spaces and the other way around in urls and this is coming through when you DL (because the file name is connected to the URL link on the server). Although after all that I have no idea how you could go about fixing this problem, that will require more investigation. Maybe learn how to love Firefox?   

Has anyone read Our Yellow House by Cara? I never have despite loving a lot of her stories but I'm reluctant because the summary makes it sound like constant angst.

Hm. I've read it, and I remember quite liking it. I wouldn't say it's constant angst, there is your fair share of it at the beginning, but you never feel hopeless for the characters after that first bit, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. It certainly made my heart ache for the characters, and they are pretty screwed up emotionally. Some pretty bad stuff happens to Bella, but their is certainly a HEA, although the road there is pretty bumpy due to the crap they went through.

I wouldn't read it if you are feeling a little depressed but overall it is certainly not the most angsty story you will ever read, but it certainly isn't a happy story overall.

I remember that one, I read it when I actually still read WIPs lol.

The UST was pretty awesome in that one wasn't it?

Ahh, well there's the first problem, I'm working on a MacBook so no Windows 7, but I appreciate any reason that gets a young, innocent looking RobBoy onto my computer screen! Edited: Bollocks! Just clicked on the link and realised I've read this! I really enjoyed it, there are touches of POF in it and  quite a nice murder mystery element to the story. I might have to re-read it now

I just got a computer with Windows 8 - not really my choice, though, as I would have gone for 7 over 8.  But it does come with a new IE that actually works.  IE 9 sucked.  I think it crashed more than it worked.  I ended up with Chrome.  I keep trying Firefox, but I'm never happy with it.   I will say I was having those "+" issues saving files, but didn't realize it was related to my use of browser.  I thought it was the way the file was originally saved since it was inconsistent in my downloads. And it only seemed to show up on stuff I downloaded from here. 

Okay, so mostly...I only download from here 

And Astro? You need to learn how to procrastinate.  You don't have to flounce... just put it aside for a day and read something else...and something else....and something else...suddenly, it is  on the next page of your kindle reader and you forget you were reading it.   

At least, that's what works for me.  I have a hard time flouncing.  I will get back to it...someday
