This is another fic that I have in my "Watch" (Stalk) list that is not marked as complete!

Is it complete, and if so, how do you know it's complete if the author hasn't labelled it so? Am I missing something?

Because I can read the end without blowing it for myself, I looked at the last chapter. I normally look at the AN's to see what they are saying. It looks like maybe one chapter left, but the last chapter looks kind o like an acceptable ending point.

I swear I had never seen so many prologues/epilogues before I started reading Twific! It's almost like a rule in Twific - like pixie Alice, lip biting, Bella's little hand, blue dresses, popping the "p", Edward's 12 inch schlong and ability to go all night, etc, etc... Twifics need to have a prologue and/or epilogue.

There seems to be a lot of Twifics that are essentially finished, but the author feels that an epi is needed - and then they never do the epi, leaving the fic in my stalk list.

Demaris, I'm letting you make the call on this - is it finished to the readable stage?

ETD: I see there is a J/A companion fic - You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login - that IS marked as complete.

I'm on Chapter 12 but I kinda peeks at the very last sentence, of the last paragraph, of the last chapter ( as you know how I love spoilers!!) and it's clear to me that this story is finished. I'm so over 10years later epilogues,whatever, if it's there great, if not *shrug*

What I do it is, I look at the average length of the authors other stories, how many other stories has the author left incomplete, if like Jaxington, the answer is none then the odds are this one is unlikely to be also. I think you have to kinda sniff it out, it weird but sometime something clicks and you find a story that is actually complete even though it's not marked...*scratches head* Does that make sense?

ETD The prologue thing comes from the fact that the original stories had prologues, though I can't remember, did they have epilogues?

OPN - I like it!

But those cheap knock-offs have their place too - I actually bought a "Chanel" bag when I was in Hong Kong in January, for A$4. I also bought an A$250 handbag (it was "real" but from an outlet type mall in Hong Kong and it was on sale as old stock). The "Chanel" bag is still going strong - the clasp on the other one broke in April!

Sleep well - I don't know how you do it. I was up till 1:00am this morning and up at 7:00 and feel like I've been hit by a bus...and I only had one drink all night.

BTW - it was a Pimm's. How very English of me!

Which bring me to the fic I'm currently reading has anyone read Jaxington's Under These Lights You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login I stumbled onto it while doing my clear-out and started reading and for a HS fic it's really rather good. They're all in Texas and so it's very "hey! Li' lady" and "day light's a'wastin" but it's keeping me very entertained..while I sip a Bud and hoover up Doritos! And yes it is 02.00 GMT!

Oh, is it really that bad? Perhaps that is why I gave this one the flick, not because it was incomplete. The southern drawl/ baby talk/ other accents put into writing annoy me so much! It's all well and good to use slang, but not every second word needs to be spelt how it's pronounced. The dropping of final consonants/ and or whole syllables every other word is a serious flickable offence in my book. Really people, if you spelt everything in your fic how it was pronounced most probly evry word wud be spelt rong.

I'm really enjoying the "speak" I'm actually saying stuff out loud, in a crap, pseudo, Texnglish accent, but it not overdone at all, it's mainly used for emphasis as far as I can see. And I've found another Edward to crush on....

Now, I've had a busy few weeks, but this fic just goes on and on and on - I still have 150 pages left, and I have been doing a little bit of skim-reading. I know I've mentioned a few times about how I should have flounced but just haven't been able to.

During my clean-up I came upon this in the author's profile:

'Avalanche' was my first attempt at a multi-chaptered fan fiction. It wasn't even okay-ish. It was just bad. I'm sorry I had to take the fic down. It's just not something I'm proud of and I really don't even want a copy of it out there, which is why I didn't warn before deleting. If you still happen to have the copy, it would mean a lot to me if you didn't share. This makes me an asshole and I'm sorry. I'm a very flawed human. Someday, I'll rewrite it properly. Let's just say anon-hate, despite me saying that the fic is stupid, is rather demotivating. I am still writing the epilogue. Maybe I'll put it up if after this anyone still wants to read it (which I highly doubt).

PS: No, no, I am absolutely NOT publishing it.

Strange as it sounds, there is something compelling about this fic - I don't know what it is. It is wordy and VERY slow moving but I just can't stop! The author has this strange addiction to the term "thrice" - to the point where I have a laugh every time I read it. Now, she has only used it 10 times (yep - I just counted) but it's such an odd turn of phrase that it stands out - and I'm loving it

I plan on finishing it tonight (or tomorrow morning at the latest - Holidays! WooHoo!!!) then the BIG clean up happens. I'm wiping my e-reader and loading only those fics that have been well recced here.

I think I'm more excited by this than I am about Christmas!

It's 28 chapters in and hasn't been updated in a long time. Is it complete? Or is Chapter 28 the last chapter with no finality or closure? I really don't want to start and get p i s s e d that it's incomplete

Just had a look for you, Chapter 28 is listed as an Epilogue and the A/N talks about it being over so it looks like it's complete. You're safe to read! It's so stupid when people don't mark stories as complete, I rarely read stories until they're done and I can imagine a lot of readers are the same.

Every time I read one of these "author pulls story" posts I want to run to FF.net and flag everything in my favourites/completes. But there are sooooo many. I wish I could remember to just do it individually as they get completed. But I'm wondering, do you ladies flag.com everything as soon as they are finished or....how many fics do you Lovelies have loitering in favourites on FF.net?

On a different note I have finished Under These Lights (link previously posted) And yes it is definitely rounded off enough to read and enjoy; could it do with another chapter? Maybe. Would I have noticed if the "complete" button had been pressed? No, I would have just taken it as read.
