SO what qualifies as DARK to you- reading non-canon pairings, or changing the names in real books to fic names?

Just dropping in to say MERRY CHRISTMAS to everyone. It's Christmas day here and Father Christmas has been. Just got back from Church; now getting lunch ready and preparing to open gifts. It's Christmas Eve still here, Aka my 18th wedding anniversary. Word to the unwed, DON'T get married so near to a major holiday, because it just gets lost in the shuffle.

We won't be opening presents til early in the morning, but we've (hubby that is) been cooking all day today, and tomorrow we eat and play, and hopefully go a' visiting.

I haven't been doing this long enough to want to read other than E/B pairings.

Oddly enough, I jumped ship to Bella and Jasper in less than 10 fics! Now I'm hooked, but I do still read some Edward stories.

With us it's not anniversaries that are shadowed by Christmas, it's birthdays. My husband and youngest child have birthdays right before Christmas. My daughter and I have our birthdays right after Christmas. Her birthday is one day before mine. For me, she was a late Christmas present and an early birthday present. My middle child is the only one to escape the Christmas/birthday rush. He's an August baby.

My birthday is also in December, so I generally get one really big gift that does for Christmas/Birthday and anniversary. This year I got a Nexus 7 tablet, last year I got a laptop.

Getting in some fic reading whilst waiting for my roast chicken to be cooked! So far my Christmas/birthday haul includes a suitcase and a food mixer.. neither of which I asked for. Probably the most bizarre presents I've ever gotten. I hope all you ladies are having a fabulous day and get to spend time with all your loved ones

but I can't help but wish that humans could be a bit more like some of the other species in the animal kingdom and once the young leave the nest they all go their separate ways never for their paths to cross again! If my mother asks once more when I'm going to "settle down" I might have to "get medieval on her a.r.s.e" Or at the very least dream about doing so.....

Which is why I'm scavenging around online on Christmas to alleviate boredom and frustration. At least if I was in London I could pop round to a friend and hide, but no, stuck in a bumfuck of nowhere town in Switzerland (Jesus, Twifics have really helped with my vocabulary

). But I do have a rather nice Actorward fic to rec, it's a wip so don't kill me (I know, I never never rec wips but...) I'm going to follow it as Livie79 tend to finish what she starts, so...
