God Damn! I know it's Christmas and a time for "goodwill to all men" and some such  :poo: but I can't help but wish that humans could be a bit more like some of the other species in the animal kingdom and once the young leave the nest they all go their separate ways never for their paths to cross again! If my mother asks once more when I'm going to "settle down" I might have to "get medieval on her a.r.s.e" Or at the very least dream about doing so..... >:(

Love ya ladies..Hope you're all enjoying your day..and our Australian cousins their Boxing Day. :-*

This ^ is the greatest thing about a summer Christmas - when the rellies (for me, it's my aunt - "when is it going to be your turn to marry/have babies?"...every year I'm tempted to tell her I'm gay - but then I'd be responsible for her stroke ) start driving you insane, make a huge jug of margaritas. If the noise of the blender doesn't drown them out, get in the pool and every time they talk, just sink down low enough that your ears are underwater. Problem solved, without bloodshed.

3 chapters left of Dusty but as it's Boxing Day (basically Christmas Day in reruns with no presents, less relatives and more booze), it will have to wait.

For those of you who have read it, I kept coming up against a real moral dilemma - even at 14 Edward was hot! I had to keep reminding myself that he was a child. Does that make me a kinky paedo?? Please tell me for once that it wasn't just me!!!

And Demaris, Bumfuck Switzerland still sounds more exciting than Whoop Whoop! Thank goodness I'm home for the holidays despite the crazies!

Ah Astro, just what I needed, some of your reliable humour....Do you have a big family? I'm an only child, my father is an only child and my mother only has a sister who has no children, our "family" Christmases can get rather...quiet. Hey!Here is an idea? Maybe you and I should be gay together? lesbifriends? I'll happily move to Australia and have Summer Christmases  :D :D

Dusty, Dusty, Dusty...What can I say? That mofo ripped my heart out from the moment he was written onto the page, aged 11. But yeah, by 14? his hotness is undisputed, so is his hotheadedness and badass ways. Three chapters left? So? Blank White Page? As much as I worship that story I would not want to be back at that spot you're at, coming to the end of that story, cold, with no idea what to expect.....:brokenheart:

LOL! So now this thread is twific matchmakermatchmakergetmyfamilyoffmyass.com??

Have you thought about bringing a cardboard cutout of RPattz home with you & introduce him as your future spouse??  Just a thought....  I didn't get married until I was 40 - it was hard to meet (non-gay) guys when I worked in the fashion industry.  Fortunately, I have a ton of brothers and sisters to give my parents grandkids, so they barely bothered me.  Though I think some of the relatives were starting to wonder if I batted for the other team.  ;D :D :D :D

My husband and I married at the ripe old age of 22 (exactly one week after graduating from college), but waited almost 12 years after that  to have children.  My mother-in-law would quiz our friends about our child-bearing intentions.

That must have been fun  :P

I sometimes wish I did college the normal way, instead of going back to school at 28. Sigh.  Then I would have kids that constantly asked for money instead of ones that leave fur balls & puke everywhere.  :NeenerNeener:

 A ton of brothers?
* ears prick up*

I'm on my way... >:D

My family is quite large, at least by today's standards. My dad is one of 5, my mum is one of 4 and I have 3 sisters (the really insane one lives in London) and one brother and each if them (except for the nut case in the UK) has 2 or 3.

Yes, we're breeders  :(

Demaris, you can be my "lover", but only for one day , unless you have something that we can discuss further on the dark side, Voldemort thread.  ;)

With us it's not anniversaries that are shadowed by Christmas, it's birthdays.  My husband and youngest child have birthdays right before Christmas.  My daughter and I have our birthdays right after Christmas.  Her birthday is one day before mine.  For me, she was a late Christmas present and an early birthday present.  My middle child is the only one to escape the Christmas/birthday rush.  He's an August baby.

Hmmm, i wonder what's in the water or what's happening in Canada around March/April as your parents, your husband's parents and you and your hubby seem to be actively procreating around that month for you all to be born in Dec... ;). Must be one big party after another in your house this month!

We don't really have the excuse of the cold Canadian weather since we live (and our parents live) in the southern portion of the United States.  But I guess that still doesn't rule out spring fever!

Geez, got confused there... Proof my brain isn't working. You're from Texas? I think it's savanablue that's from canada...
I have an officemate who's like you but their birthday's were all in October. January is the coolest month here (yeah, cool for us at 23C as the rest of the year its at 28-30C) so we like to call January "bed" weather  ^-^

Maybe i should start a list of where we are from, will go back to the old posts... something to do for the new year break... Yup, being OC here.... :P

My husband and I married at 22 as well, but we had dated since I had been 16....so together for 16 years and married for 10 as of right now. We waited 3 years after marriage to start the kiddos and now we have 2 and 3 dogs. Craziness.

I have only one brother (although we have no relationship and I haven't seen him in about 2 years) but my husband has 2 other brothers and a sister and I get along with all of them, thankfully. The get togethers with my husbands family are loud and fun. We drink wine, play games, gossip (lol), the kids all run around playing, etc. My family is so disjointed (srsly, my mom has 2 sisters and a brother and they are scattered everywhere from Michigan, South Carolina, North Carolina, Thailand, Ohio, etc so we never see each other) that it's usually just my husband and kids with my parents.

I wish we were...it can be a lot of pressure. Yeah I don't think I have what you're implying so...Actually, what are you implying?  :-\

Just finished Revelry by TeamBella23 ( it's on thread 152) Yeah, right? From Dusty to Revelry? I must need my head examined. I had flounced this story a couple of times but this time I was determined, as I couldn't understand why out of all TeamBella stories this one wasn't gripping me, well having come to the end of it I've figured it out. How often have I come on here complaining about Bella for one reason or another, I mean a lot of Bellas in Twifics are just *shakes heads* annoying, but the Bella in Revelry? She's a manipulative, selfish, kinda spiteful, b.i.t.c.h of the the most dangerous type; a Bella who sees her own flaws but is unwilling (for a number of reasons) to do anything about it. Reason? Well, that is the challenge of TeamBella  story, she doesn't really give you one; some people are twisted because they're twisted and if they cross your path? Watch out, because they'll take you down with them, which is what Bella proceeds to do to Edward. I believe this is why I flounced this story early on in my Twific career, at that time I was unprepared to have Edward and Bella's relationship be any less than perfect; this couple, in this story are so less than perfect you want them to split up; you want Edward to run away from Bella as fast as his legs can carry him, instead she sends him into a downward spiral that comes back to bite her in the arse. So am I recommending this story? If you want something outside the box or are a bit over the normal E&B dynamics of shy, lip biting, stumbling, fumbling mess and swoop in and sweep off this might just do the trick. But honestly, it isn't for everyone, it is a good but not an excellent example of this author's work, I think she was writing this at the same time as California Waiting, not sure if she had a Beta but the copy I have has a fair amount of grammatical and spelling mistakes but as usual this woman's writing is strong, her character development fantastic and the cast atypical. But I do think, if I'm totally honest, that this is one for cult devotees such as myself, having drank the Kool-Aid will help with the digestion of this tale :D

I finished reading the recent short ones recd here and i really liked these:
Baby its cold outside   Chocaholic123
The right guy   That english writer

I stumbled upon this in my library and i like this author a lot. i wonder if she did expand this as stated in her A/n
She fcking hates me   Clpsuperstar

Have been seeing a lot of praise for Beautiful Disaster by jamie mcguire so that's what i'll read next. Did you also get to read Effortless and Thoughtless by SC Stephens. Liked those as well and can't wait for the final one, Reckless, to come out mid next year.

I flounced beautiful disaster.  It was just a bad fic. I think she is having some legal problems, cause I bought an e-book and now it says its from an unknown author.
