This is a pretty decent story that finished recently.  (Just waiting on an epi)

When Bella signed up for a summer archeology program, she thought she'd be exploring fossils and sedimentary rock. Little did she know, she would find herself the primary caretaker for a man with no verbal capacity or human interaction skills-a feral man.

And now I'm reading Summer of Salt by lola-pops You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

The heat wave lingers. Sweet, savory and slick. Jasper, Rose and I wade through the humid days, content in our relative isolation. We spend June through August at our family lake property, and this summer is like any other. Until it's not.
You held out your hand, and I took it without stopping to make sense of what I was doing. For the first time in almost a century, I felt hope.

Did you read the last chapter?  Some of these are complete, but the author doesn't mark them as complete.  Sometimes this is because the think they are going to come back and write an epilogue.   :-\
I got the boyfriend to as I was too chicken in case I got spoiler'd, but the last chapter is 'Stranger than Fiction pt.1' or something, so it's fair to say it's probably not been finished.

I read it as a WIP then forgot about it. I'll need to go back.

Sweet :)

I thought I'd peruse a couple of chapters, just to get a feel of it, before going back to Bring On The Wonder...The end of the prologue is as far as I got and thought, "yeah, this story will need my full attention" and closed down the browser tab  :D  :57:

Hey Chippy, I've not seen you about lately? Have you return from the...shoot! Can I still call it the dark side now that we have a "dark side" thread? What are we calling Jasperites now?

I loved Summer of Salt one of the first fics I read and I still remember it as if I read it yesterday. Brilliant!

Here we have 15 days vacation and 15 days sick leaves at the start of each year. This is on top of a 1 mo. (Normal) or 2 mo. (C-section) maternity leave. there is 7 day paternity leave for men. However, you have to pay for your own hospitalization.there may be some govt. hospitals that are free but the sheer size of our population could clue you in that there are not enough hospitals/beds/doctors for free. Am just thankful my husband and I have jobs that include free medical insurance to its employees and offer discounted premiums if we want to cover our kids.

Snow is something i've never actually seen. Had our honeymoon in jan 1995 in Europe (oh geez, will be married 18 yrs on the 7th). We went to France, UK and Italy. It was the first time we ever experienced 0 degrees and we loved it. Of course, knowing we will only be there to experience that cold weather for a month added to its "charm". Can't imagine living at way too many degrees below zero all year round... So i really feel for you savanablue. But it would be an experience which i would want to have at least once during my lifetime  ;)

Anyone else wonder what it is that makes an author just stop posting? I found a story just now that has ~300,000 words, 5000 reviews and hasn't been updated for 7 months. It seems pointless to keep a story like that up without informing people you won't be continuing.

Oh, and ericastwilight has said she'll be rewriting/reposting Punch Me, Love Me, Save Me (You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login) Summary looks good, especially for savana the angst h00r, so it might be one to follow.

I LOVED this fic and was so damn bummed when she just stopped updating. I can't wait for her to repost, but hopefully she sticks with it.

I think she probably will, it's been posted all over twitter so there'll be a huge following to convince her.

Also, Booked: I suspect it's my username that had you thinking I'm from France, but unfortunately it's the other side of the channel. I'm actually English, so if anyone wants to stalk me please come here rather than there.

Slightly OT: does anyone here watch True Blood? I watched the first ever episode earlier and holy sh1t, I'm not in Twilight-land anymore  :o
