I must say you guyz are so brave to read emmet/bella, jasper/bella stories..I cant even think about reading anything but edward/bella.Hell i always have hard time reading edward/bella stories where they are paired with someone else for little amount of time. 

I just finished reading Beautiful, Dirty, Rich by Kikiblue (anyone read it?) and it got me thinking about sex in High School fics...

How is it possible that all these teenagers have so much great sex?! I know it is fiction, but it really troubles me after a point. All the sex I had while at school was terrible, especially with boys my age. They definatelly didn't know what they were doing...

I understand when the main couple has a really good time in bed (it is fiction after all), but some high school fics are straight up ridiculous!!

That's one i wasn't able to finish, reached only page 20 i think. I couldn't stand the thought of emmett and bella  having BJs before school, Emmett going at it with Rose at lunch... And all those other mixed pairings...Ewww, couldn't handle it.

I agree..There is fine line between fiesty/badass and bitchy/slutty..Sometimes writers mix one with other & at the end create  annoying bella.same goes for edward..I love fics where he is cocky/arrogant/jerk/manwhore..Infact most of my fav fics have those type of edward.but at the same time edward has sweet/vulnerable/charming/protactive personality only for bella.Thats make it special.Do i make sense?

Well, yeah, they were a little too slutty for my liking too, but I finished the fic anyway. Still, it is not the first fic with way to much "great, steamy, satisfying" sex in it. I mean, common! 

Still, I don't really mind non-canon couples, as long as a fic is well written.

I tried reading BDR,l I got 10 pages in and thought, "this story will rot my brain and send me running to bible classes". Flounced. I'm now reading Just Wait, in this story Bella also sleeps around but it is not done in a "everyone else does it so so shall I" there are deeper issues under her behaviour.  Now don't get me wrong I totally believe in sexual freedom (there shouldn't be one rule for boys and another for girls) and I don't judge people's morality by how many people they sleep with but sometimes in Fan Fic most of the High School sexcapades  just comes off as there for shock value....

I think some writers put so many lemons in the story because the feel they have to or it's expected. Then they go a little crazy.   

I understand the use of lemons, but I refuse to believe teenagers have so much "quality" sex... I find it hilarious!

LOL!  I guess what I meant was that if they wrote HS relationships like they really are? Yeah, closer to the original Twilight stories.

Readers want hawt sex, not the real stuff.  Isn't that why we call it fiction?  Though I did read one where Mike thought he was God's gift to women & all the girls who'd been with him said bad things behind his back about how awful it was

Ok, so I'm reading The Ex Factor right now (my second fanfic) and I'm not sure that I'm loving it as much as I did Out of Sight Out of Mind.   I've made it up to where they are getting ready for the New Years Eve party.   It's been good, but it just seems soooo wordy.   Most books I had been reading before would be like "5 hours" according to my kindle paperwhite and this says it is something like 30+ hours.   Is it really that long?  I don't know how to transfer # of words (that it shows on the fanfic page) to "reality" with # of pages.   I keep thinking maybe my kindle has it measured incorrectly because according to it I"m nowhere even near half way through with it yet.     Should I keep reading?  Does it get better?

I think maybe part of the problem I'm having with it is that Edward and Bella aren't together and it's hard for me to get used to seeing them with other people.  Maybe I just need to keep reading until they work out their differences and get back together?  Surely they will! LOL

I'm new to fanfic and feel the same way.   I'm reading The Ex Factor right now and there is a bit of "heat" between Alice and Edward and I just can't wrap my head around it.  LOL     Oh and also with Jasper and Bella and it just seems so wrong!   I think I'm going to stick to canon pairings after I read this one and then branch out later on when I'm ready to take that leap.  ;-)

I am now reading out of sight, out of mind by simaril. Have to admit, this is the first vamp fanfic i've read. I prefer human fanfics but i'm liking this so far. Thanks for the rec Ella!

   I read OOS OOM as my first fanfic and REALLY liked it.  There was one section of the story that I thought they stretched out a little too long, but I won't mention details so as not to spoil it for you.   Definitely loved the story!   

I don't know WHY Bella/Jasper has hit me like it has, I just know it has, and I'm loving it. I'm still sticking regular B/E stories in there, but I always find my mind wandering now to Bella/Jasper.

Right now I'm doing my mandatory B/E story with Breakfast at Tiffanys, will be finished with it soon, then I'll be hunting my next B/J fic, haven't decided what it'll be yet. I'll browse my calibre and see what catches my eye, got a rec for a good vamp one?
