This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general. But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Yeah, it was my birthday yesterday (and my hubby really got me a new oven, yay me! )

But my "best" birthday present? My youngest shared his stomach bug with me! Woohoo!

So, I could enjoy my cake, twice ... but spent the evening in bed not with my hubs, but with my youngest, trying not to puke...

And last night? My daughter got it, too...

Sooo, today was spent on the couch, with tea and plain popcorn and Kung Fu Panda, Mosters vs Aliens, Horton hears a Who! and Wallace & Gromit. Party time!

Oh well, I read a lot, too.

Apart from the puking, it actually sounds like a perfect day!

I hope you all feel better soon and can celebrate with hubs this weekend!

I read Where We Fell last night and this morning and wondered if any of the names at the end were you.

You're a celebrity! What is your degree in?

I thought Where We Fell was really sweet and enjoyed reading it very much. It's only 80 pages, so it's a quick read so for most of you, you'll knock it over in a couple of hours.

Okay, guys, the link to my Calibre library is in my blurb at the bottom. I get most of the new stuff. Even stuff I would not normally like, just because it is easier to take a whole page,

If I'm missing something good let me know. Though if it's PDF and available here, I probably won't be adding it.

Yep - I'm surprised the FBI and Scotland Yard aren't in a bidding war for my super sleuth skills.

Work is still very much kicking my arse - to the point that I've actually taken this week off. I spent part of yesterday at the doctor's and started trialling some new pretty pink pills to help me deal with life. I'm glad I've got you girls here (and your recs) to keep my mind off the yuck stuff that's been filling it lately.

Okay, for some reason it totally doesn't want to work for me. Sigh. And the link to the instructions? Takes me to an ad. Oh well.

But the idea is great & I'm trying to see if there is one in Chrome or I.E.

I'll try not to confuse you with my use of advanced technical jargon...

I just added the Multi Links add-on thingy to Firefox (Tools - Add Ons - Get Add Ons - search for Multi Links - Install, then closed and re-opened Firefox).

Then, I opened Anchalee's post, selected her post, right-clicked and then opened Calibre, clicked on Fanfiction DL, then Add New From URL and all of the links were sitting there waiting for me.

Is that what you're wanting to do, or have I missed the point. I seem to be doing that a lot lately.

If you manage to find one in IE or Chrome, please let me know.

*blushes* Thank you! I feel very honored that she mentioned me! My bachelor's degree is in English (went to Rutgers University).

The coolest part is seeing the revisions or changes I suggested!

In other news, I just finished justginger's Hope Springs and really enjoyed it. It was a little lighter than I'm used to. To use Astro's (I think) term, there was a lot of 'literary realism' as it followed a broken Bella mature on a day-to-day basis. It was nice. I'm actually sad to see it go. I'll be following the followup story to People Like Us called A Family Like Ours. While she's still not the best writer, she improved leaps and bounds in her second story and I have high hopes for her third story, which I'll follow. She writes long ones so I doubt it will be finished any time soon!

Really hope you and your family get well soon! Tell your hubs since you were sick on your birthday, you are claiming Nov. 2 or 3 as a "do-over"

Work is still very much kicking my arse - to the point that I've actually taken this week off. OMG. So I have spent tonight booting up laptop, updating, reconfiguring calibre. Ya'll are a baaaaaaaaaaaaad influence.
I just tried coping all my URL from a webpage since I have heard you all doing this and it didn't work for me either.
I do have a few questions, Ella any chance of you becoming available for chat up here and I won't bug the whole thread.
I am showing I am available if you can hit me up.

You're right - I tried on a few different sites and it only seems to pick up the actual hyperlinks, not when there are words saying what the hyperlink is, like on ffnet favourites.

I'm liking Calibre. I'm glad I bit the bullet and got my head around it before all of this drama with ffnet and flag or I'd be learning under duress and that is never good.

It needs some tweaking, because it took all the links that you select, but I think it's easier to delete from the calibre list than to C&P individual fic titles into Calibre!

Actually, both addons worked - I was doing it wrong in firefox. You have to press the right button and then drag to get the little box.

Just make sure the settings are on "copy" and not open as new tabs or you get 150 new tabs open and your computers spazzes out! In the Chrome addon, you also need to change the settings for copy to use whichever buttons you want.

Also, you need to change the settings to get all the links. It looks like the default is 40 in the firefox one.

OK teach me Astro. When I highlight them it opens new tabs. When I go to calibre, I only get ONE of them

edit: ok found it. Fixed it. But I still have the issue that when I get urls from webpage in calibre, I get nothing.

BUT it is working when I am on the author page in ff.net SWEEEET

sign another update: get urls from webpage on my favorites list doesn't work, BUT it does if I say get new story.

I just click on Add New From URL in the FanFiction DL button on Calibre and they are all listed there.

Actually - they're listed twice - first page of story and last page of story. I'm going to play with the settings to see if it can remove duplicates.

Do you need instructions for changing the settings?
