This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general. But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

I went to the Dr.'s the other day for my ultrasound appointment and they were able to tell us if we are having another girl or a boy. Mini will be having a little brother! Mini-mister as Astro calls him

I'm anxiously awaiting for the third book, but I just came across this outtake from book 2 that I thought I'd share. It's “The Kitchen Table Outtake from Gabriel’s Rapture”

Ooh thank you! I've only read one outtake and it was one from before he met Julia... back during his "Lobby days". I also haven't read any of the teasers from the third book because I want to be totally surprised.

This was one of the first "romance" books I read and I've read a ton since then and it's still one of my top two (along with The Bronze Horseman). I was afraid that when I read it this second time around that it wouldn't be as good, but I'm still swooning. I just LOVE Gabriel and how old fashioned he is when he's trying to court her. ;-)

I flounced UoEM, so I haven't even tried to read the real book. I think it was the third person POV, or that I just didn't like this Edward or Bella. It was also in PDF, so even though I converted it to mobi, it was hard to read.

Maybe if I run out of stuff I will try it again.

The third person thing is something you have to get used to... definitely different. You should give the "real" books a try one of these days!

There was a discussion on the FB page for one of the stories I for which I beta about lemons. I mentioned I tend to skim them after a point, as I get bored.

Didn't go over well with my writer. I told her I do read her lemons, though sometimes when I find myself skimming? I have to remember that I need to read them and then I go back and start at the top.

My other two stories don't have lemons. Or not so far....

I like lemons in my stories but not lemons after lemons after lemons . After certain point, you get tired and just want to get on with the story. Ellachanted, what stories are you beta-ing ? I would like to put them on alert so that i can read them when they are completed. Thanks

I am exactly the same. Last year, I made the disastrous decision to read my TBR in alphabetical order and came across some truly dreadful fics, however I could only bring myself to flounce one - and it turned out it was written by a 12/13 year old!

I didn't even make it through the A's!

I can count on one hand how many fics I have flounced over the years - I keep cheering for the underdog and hoping they'll improve.

It's a terrible affliction for a fanfic addict to have!

I'm reading Gravity #2 - Sin & Innocence. I don't have a lot of time to read at this time of year. By the time I crawl into bed, I can barely keep my eyes open so I'll be reading this one for a while.

I wish I hadn't started it - I need light and fluffy at the moment!

I beta for Redtini - I started about halfway through How to Date a Movie Star. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login - most of her stuff has been moved to TWCS or FictionPad as she got one of those "We're watching you" notices. So she pulled rather than get pulled.

I also beta for MizzDee - Though I only do her An Eternity to Love. It is a vampfic. Bella and Edward grew up together and Bella ran away after Edward "died" and eventually got changed. It's a little old fashioned to fit with the times. I enjoy it though it was a little slow moving for me. (read as it seemed to take forever for B & E to find each other!) Okay, I get a chapter a month. So yeah, forever! I'm sure if you read it in one go? It will be fine.

And finally, I beta for BellaC874 - she only has the one - Baby Blues. Bella and Edward were high school sweethearts but broke up when she tells him she's pregnant. Bella disappears. This starts when she comes back with a two year old child. I think this one is almost done. It has a nice little mystery in it. Edward is mostly sweet, but you find out what happened about 2/3 of the way through. This is her first story, so the writing style needs some help and unfortunately, I'm probably not the best beta for it. Her idea is really good, but it gets a little bogged down in the day to day stuff. Overall, though, it is a nice little story.

Me too! I adored Gabriel's Inferno and I read it before I even knew it's from fanctiction! Yes, it's so romantic the way he courted her. And the Bronze Horseman is also one of my all time favorites.

The goldfish comment made me laugh! LOL I've never thought about trading my kiddo for one, but there are times when that would be just grade. Hmm. I wonder if there are laws against that? haha

What have I been up to?
Well I worked 68 hours last week. Slept 14 hrs straight when I got off. I'm crawling, but alive.

Went to thanksgiving dinner at my parents because we always go to my mother in law for the holiday. We leave Wednesday, get home Sunday. Then I leave Monday night to head to SC where my oldest graduates basic training. Has it already been 3 months?

I finished My Mate and My Power. Really loved them. After reading 3 vamp fics in a row, I jumped over to a book.

I read Shayla Black's Wicked Ties. Enjoyed it sooo much, I immediately started reading the next book. It's pron with plot with a little ménage. MFM though. I really cannot do any other kind.
