This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general. But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

So I started with RD Mickey's favs because I know she has a lot.

Um, I should have looked and the number first. 999 stories! Really? I should have done this tomorrow.

I'm going to be up half the night. Good thing I'm off tomorrow.

Ella - How are you doing with your 999 stories? I wanted to download one author's favorites list with 500 stories but toward the end my Calibre froze and I got 345 files. Not too bad.

Was your download completed and you got all the 999 stories?

LOL! I gave up somewhat. I was so tired, so I put the top down on my laptop and went to bed. It got to 77 of 258 (which means I probably have the rest) and it seems to have restarted this morning when I opened the computer and is at 116 now.

I have done a maximum of 300 before. But I also check for updates on about 1500 stories at a time. I found that if I look for updates on more than that, it takes forever.

Potential fixes for the problem of too many - copy them to clipboard, paste into a note pad, then only grab a few hundred at a time by cut and pasting into the Add URL.

I may try the 2526 of Caro's though, just as an experiment. It is likely I have many of them already. I'm thinking the 258 of RD's are WIPs, as they are in a different library - I separated out the Completed from the WIPs when I found I was wasting too much time trying to decide if I wanted to add them to my reading list. When they may never be done....

LOL! It's messed up in an organized way. I am very slowly fixing it, but between work, school, and home stuff, I probably get the metadata on about 20 a week. And I add about 100 per week.

What's bad is I can't always remember what I've read from the title or summary. Otherwise, I would go through and mark them all....

And at some point I need to load all my old mobis and PDF's that are no longer available for download. Most of my already reads are in those....

LOL mine is beyond a HOT Mess. 1 library only, FF.net and real books all in one spot.

Good to hear that it worked for you.

. So definitely it's my computer problem. I'll try again tonight - set it up, go to bed, and check it out the next morning! Wow, it's so much easier now!

Taking a twific break and started Abbi Glines' Fallen Too Far and it is good! it's part 1 of a trilogy. Had 4-5 stars in goodreads.

Oh, and i just arrived home from watching Catching Fire. Loooved it! Better than Hunger Games. Go watch it!

I've heard great things about that series by Abbi Glines... let us know what you think of it! I watched Catching Fire too and it was incredible. I liked the first one, but this one was definitely better! Plus, it had been so long since I'd read the book that I was pleasantly surprised by the end.

But the real test would be Caro's favourites list, under roon0 on Ff.net, check it out, it's only for the brave! Last time I looked there were 2526 stories in her favourites list - enjoy!!!

I wouldn't use that as a guide as I used my favs to dump things I was even a little bit interested in. I haven't even looked at it for a couple of years. Hmmmm, having said that I might go give it a try myself.

I'm right there with you. Flag was my salvation and I keep looking at the DL icon of Calibre that I still haven't installed. It instills great fear people! Everyone loves it and yet, at the same time, I'm constantly reading about all the trouble everyone has. I'm not very tech savvy so it worries me...

I looked at doing it - the size doesn't bother me - but you have all sorts of other fandoms in there & I really don't need stuff I'm never going to read. I have enough stuff I will never read....

Okay, if you decide to do it, start with my basic library above. It is a folder that has a folder inside for ItsMegan & A Rough Start. It doesn't look like much, but if you put it where you want your Calibre library to be, then in the Calibre on the library icon - add it as a library as is. "use library in other location" or something like that - I can't check the actual wording right now as I'm downloading stuff.

Anyway, starting from my library, you can associate all the columns as per the set up instructions & most of it will fill in with no problems. The biggest problems we have are when FFnet changes things, then you just wait for an update. It is usually there by the next day. It rarely affects any of the other sites.

I finished the trilogy and i loved it! They were relatively short so i finshed fast. Can't wait to read the other books on Woods (out) and Grant (2014)

Got the same feeling as i was watching the movie. After the scene happens i then say to myself oooooh, riiiiiight, it said so in the book. I do remember from the books that i was disappointed with Mockingjay, it didn't live up to my expectations. Guess will just wait and see til the next movie.
