I moved a lot of my iTunes library to an external drive.  I should say that one of the reasons I bought the HP Dv7t 17 inch laptop was because it is able to take a second hard drive.  So I have 2 - 1 TB drives in my computer.  I still need to clean more off of it.  I went from having less than 200 GBs free to about 350 GBs free.   

You win.  I have a 1TB drive installed on my lovely HP Compaq (which is now getting old.) I bought myself a 1TB portable external drive which I use to back up my Calibre and my Itunes libraries and I have another drive to hold downloaded files because you never know.  I spend more time fiddling with these things then actually reading the stuff I download.  When I say I need help I really do mean it.   

Hmmm...can't decide what to make of this book. Some parts were very good but the first few chapters really didn't catch my attention. I had to put it down coz i wasn't "feeling it". Returned to it after finishing 2 other books.

I was so happy to see Written in the Stars by Lissa Bryan as first place in the Favorite Out of This World Fic (and Beyond Time by TKegl in third place). I hadn't read the second place winner, Firefly in the Summer by primarycolors, so I decided to give it a go and really enjoyed it. It was good. While it is a time-travel fic, it had all the markers of a good amnesia fic as well. There were some tears and a bit of angst, but I really enjoyed the ride. I'm looking at the rest of the nominees in the category, but there are so many! I wish the web site had links or descriptions. Anyhoo, a rec from me for Firefly in Summer.

Because I was now in that mood, I followed it up with Magnetic by cupcakeriot. A good story that wasn't that well written--the author was still in high school when she wrote it. It was an easy, quick read though and seemed to have been inspired by elements of Bryan's WitS. (No tails though    ). Worth the read I think.

Is it bad that I haven't read hardly any of the winners?  And most of the ones I have, I flounced? 

   It was worse during the voting when I was looking for a fic that I knew, so I could vote! But, yeah, I've never read most of these fics either.

Only my Kindle doesn't have an SD card slot.  I have way too many toys, but my android tablet, nook tablet, android phone, laptop, desktop and netbook all have SD card slots of some kind.   Makes it easy

I have a lot of toys also, and am eyeing a couple new ones. I'm up for a phone upgrade next month and will be passing my Note 2 over to the hubby and grabbing a Note 3. Then I'm really wanting a Kindle paperwhite....though the fact that you can only do mobi's seems like a pita to me because I would have to convert everything over. Anyone have one of these? And, the fact that I really would like to be able to sync between devices (reading position) makes me unsure of the kindle as I don't care for the Kindle App on my phone/tab.

I sort by the "Date" column.  Everything I just downloaded, I highlight and right click - save to disk for the Google Drive and copy to library for the Copy Drive.  It's really pretty quick and you don't have to do anything, as far as going to each item and copying it.   

It also makes it easy to coordinate to the library on the SD Card.  You just have to copy the full library to the card, then tell Calibre it's there & you can copy within Calibre to the Card.  I just had to start naming the libraries with a more descriptive name.  So complete fics - a, is my main library.  Complete fics - Copy is the Copy drive library, Complete fics - google is the Google Drive, well you get the idea.  Before I did that? I couldn't remember which was which and things were getting really messed up! 

Google is good for sharing stuff, but it won't work as a Calibre library.  Google renames the files and will drop the numbers in the filename, which messes up the database.  Fortunately, I had a backup that was still good, just not completely updated.  But the Google drive library actually crashed Calibre & I almost had to delete the program and start over.  So frustrating....

That is....genius. Thank you, I'll be trying that out tonight!

Ellaenchanted: I love my Nexus tablet, and want the newer one. The only thing that makes me hesitate is that SD card slot, the Galaxy tabs come with one, the Nexus doesn't. But I know how to do everything on the Nexus. I could always just get the 32 gb one next time, lol, and a good cloud service that isn't too expensive by the year. Considering I don't buy a lot of my books, I'm kinda uncomfortable about using Amazon's cloud, know what I mean?

LucyLu: I haven't tinkered with Box yet beyond installing it on my computer and my tablet, I haven't tried to get anything onto my tablet through it yet. I've actually started using Calibre Companion more and more to get my books on there, so long as my laptop is open that works the best.

SPAG errors: I can overlook some, if the story is good enough, and the writing doesn't seem just plain juvenile. You can always tell when it's an adult who can't spell very well writing, vs some kid with no real life experience.

I'm thinking of swapping out my tablet because I'm not loving it. I have an Asus...one of the best rated but damn this thing is slow as hell. I don't know what it is but it's ridiculous. I was checking out the Nexus but no SD slot kills that one for me. If you decide to upgrade, do you want the 7 or 10 inch?

And I do the same thing with Calibre...that's how I download pretty much everything onto my tab/phone. The cloud is just nice for the rare occasions when I can't access Calibre and want something diff to read.

I have a bunch of music creation programs that take a lot of space. And really needs a second drive to run.  But they only work with firewire drives. But I can't find a laptop with a firewire port anymore. So I found dual hard drive laptops that works.

I had a perfect computer. And knocked a glass of water over on it. I got it to work for a year before the USB ports quit working. So now I'm having fun trying to get this new computer set up.  It's been a year since I bought it and im still working out the kinks. 

I am useless at anything techi, hubs has do deal with all that.  I am dreading the day with my Compaq becomes terminal.  I dropped tea on it and now the down arrows don't work, very annoying.

Sara's Girl is an amazing author, I really like her work.  I have only read one BDB but the author takes months to update.  Do you have any good ones to rec?

I like the 7 inch size, it fits nicely in my purse and is easy to hold. I just don't know if I'd like a 10.
