Thread #5 - We are crazy talkers here! Join in the fun!

ADULT DISCUSSION HERE, SO TRY TO KEEP IT CLEAN! UM NO, WAIT! IF YOU ARE EASILY OFFENDED, LOOK AWAY NOW!

This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general.  But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, so please play nice

Because we know drypen's watching

I love an angsty Edward too, but I can't do any angst at the moment - even Rock Chick has me blubbering, and I know that they will be zero heart fail and completely HEA!

I really wanted to read You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login these holidays, but I still don't think my mind is in the right place to tackle this one. Has anyone read it? Was it hard?

I have, I think, 5 more in the Rock Chick series, then the Dream Man series, then the Chaos series and then I'm starting the Colorado Mountain series!

With a few twifics thrown in, I'll be reading these till next Christmas!

My 13 year old niece read The Fault in Our Stars and loved it but then she is heavily into angst at the moment, it's the age I think.

I did find that out last night. I was grabbing an author's page and the next thing I knew it was trying to import hundreds, not the dozen she wrote. But thanks for insuring I stay up to speed.

The double dick guy....... :57:

If one orgasm  for guys wipes them out, I guess two stimulations at once would be multiples?
My man would need naps !! (Well almost 50 doesn't help either. *giggles*)

On another note...you know us girls (any men lurking?) lol at amazon reviews.

Check these out on Gummy Bears.

Those review were soooooo funny. There must be something wrong with me, because I'm almost tempted to order a bag to try them for myself. Like some kind of masochistic Russian Roulette. (besides, it would be one way to lose those post Christmas pounds) :D :D

My youngest swore he was ordering these for a roommate that was an a$$ most of the time.

I've read the first Rock Chick book and I liked it but I wasn't crazy about it so I haven't read anymore of those...  it reminded me too much of the Stephanie Plum series or something.     After I read this fantasyland series I'm going to check out Dream Man and Mountain Man!   Boy do I hope all the Fantasyland books are this good...  best thing I've read in forever and I love that it's not a short book!

I read TFIOS recently and I really liked it.  I had been putting it off because of the subject matter but I'm glad I read it.  It's really well written and while sad, it's also really good.   It's not all bitter sadness.

OMG, this is so funny.
I remember watching a documentary (yes, I don't just watch p0rn!!!  :P) a few years ago and an Indian dude had 2 penises, but he had a "normal" sized one and one that was about an inch long underneath it.
So looking at this dudes pic of his was strangely great and I just a got a load of ideas involving 2 dicks.  :P :D :D
I'd like to blame hormones for these thoughts but......

I FLOVE TFIOS, John Green is a genius and there is so many quotable parts in the book, I seriously can't wait till the film comes out in June.
I know I'm just gonna ugly cry so much I probably be threaten to thrown out of the cinema.  :D

Just saw this from Silverblossom Jordan:

Uh huh. I will write at my own pace, I will write what I like to write.

For those who wish you may find me on Facebook in Silverblossosm's Kinky Closet, must be 18 or older. DOB must be evident on your timeline.

Since fanfuc likes to toss my work so often you might want to catch this story here in the future.

To those who are asking about all my other stories, the hate brigade got on my damn nerves and I shut everything down. I will work on one story at a time from here on out.

in case you're wondering what happened to DOM

***ANNOUNCEMENT***
Hey everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and a great New Year. I just wanted to give you all an update. As you know IWNO poofed away when my computer when Ba-boom. I have desperately been trying to get back into it but have had no luck whatsoever. I made the colossal mistake of signing into my Fanfiction account this morning after a 3 week hiatus to find my inbox flooded with hate mail. That forced me to make a very difficult decision. On Monday I will be deleting my Fanfiction account. When the time comes that I finish IWNO, I will post the document here. I do hope I get there. But it's safe to say I am exiting the fandom as of Monday, January 5th. Salacious, Because of a Boy and Bare All are PDF'd here under files. Feel free to help yourself. Anything else you want please take from my account today. Sorry it came to this. I do love you all and wish you a happy healthy 2014.

I know we've beaten this issue to death before, but seriously, what is wrong with some people? I just don't understand sending hate mail. (I don't even like to leave negative reviews.) It's like people write without understanding that there is a real live person on the receiving end of things. I can't even imagine how bad it had to have been to be that final break for this author. It's such a shame. Our fandom is so nutty sometimes.

FanfictionDL issues updating?
« Reply #3329 on: January 04, 2014, 10:39 AM »
Is anyone else having issues with the fanfictionDL plug-in for Calibre when updating a story that updates often? I keep getting errors saying that the online version hasn't changed. But when I look at my word count vs the word count on FFN they are different.  For example:

Author: SpringHiller09
Story: Secrets
Words: 8,268 (in my calibre library but 11,532 on FFN)

Error Message getting:

Status: Add
Title: SpringHiller09
Story: Secrets
Comment: Not Overwriting, web site is not newer.
URL: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

I've done all the updates for Calibre and for the plug in. And this is happening on a lot of drabble stories more often than not, as well.  Help?

I haven't read any of her books, although they are all on my TBR list. I guess I need to jump on them soon.

As far as fics, I was thinking Our Yellow House by CaraNo. Been on my list forever, and I love a tortured Edward. It just makes me all.....well GAH.

I love CaraNo's stories, I would recommend them all!  She has stories that covers all the different genres and I haven't found one yet that wasn't well written with a very enjoyable plot!   :)

I've read a lot of her work as well. I just didn't want to do this one as a wip and I just haven't gotten back around to it.

At the airport now watching my oldest board a plane for another training stint. It doesn't get easier.

Poor Jordan, she has been put through the ringer lately between pulled stories and trolls.  I really enjoy her stories, if you are into badass alpha male types, you should check them out.   >:D

I really need to get to this one soon, like maybe today!  I just finished reading House of the Horde.  While it was well written and if you enjoy angst/horror this will be for you, it left a really bad taste in my mouth.  I didn't care for angst before, but combine that with a horror movie Edward, well, I will definitely be avoiding this type of story from now on!   :o

I agree with the wip issue, I just don't read them (unless I start a story and don't realize til half way through that it isn't complete)!   >:(

I went though watching my husband leave for various stations for over 20 years (several not so nice; Haiti, Persian Gulf, etc.), it never gets easier.  Now, my son is following in Dad's footsteps and, if possible, it is worse that before.  I guess that is because he will always be my little boy in my heart and not the grown man and father he is now…  :'(

Yea this one is like his father as well. In fact when he commissions in March, he wants his inactive cpt father and his retired Ltc grandmother in uniform. I don't think either of them still fit in their uniform. I hope to keep son homeland bound. He is national guard so I must pray and keep fingers crossed. Something I haven't had to do for a couple of decades with his father.  I understand his wants, but I always said it takes someone strong to be in the military but it takes a stronger woman to stand by her husband and son.
