This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general.  But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Yea this one is like his father as well. In fact when he commissions in March, he wants his inactive cpt father and his retired Ltc grandmother in uniform. I don't think either of them still fit in their uniform. I hope to keep son homeland bound. He is national guard so I must pray and keep fingers crossed. Something I haven't had to do for a couple of decades with his father.  I understand his wants, but I always said it takes someone strong to be in the military but it takes a stronger woman to stand by her husband and son.

You are so right!  Very few understand what it takes to be a military wife!  It is the hardest job I ever had, that's for sure.  I can remember so many young guys getting married and their wives coming in thinking how glamorous it would be, most divorced before the first year was up…   

IKR.  It's like Christmas dinner, hours of preparing, shopping, cooking, cleaning and it was over in 30 minutes.  I think next year I'll do a take-away.   

no! My In-Laws bring the goose and dessert, my mom makes the rolled dumplings, I just have to cook 8 different vegetables and the sauces and keep everything warm and edible. Hubby and the kids have to tidy up the house while I stay in the kitchen... There's no way I'd trade that in! 

Is anyone else having issues with the fanfictionDL plug-in for Calibre when updating a story that updates often? I keep getting errors saying that the online version hasn't changed. But when I look at my word count vs the word count on FFN they are different.  For example:

Author: SpringHiller09
Story: Secrets
Words: 8,268 (in my calibre library but 11,532 on FFN)



Error Message getting:

I've done all the updates for Calibre and for the plug in. And this is happening on a lot of drabble stories more often than not, as well.  Help?

Just wondering... to those of you that are having this problem besides me, have you reported it on fanfictionDL's website where it says contact?  I can't be the only one having this issue. Help?

I always love a good meatloaf!  Maybe you can share the recipe with us!   

I looked up the recipes of 5 different meatloaves and then went and did my own thing.  I used 1/2 pork sausage meat & 1/2 lean beef mince.  I finely chopped onions, carrots, pepper.  I had no breadcrumbs, so I cubed 3 slices of bread finely and added to the meat & veg mixture. I beat  egg, a little milk, a little tomato sauce & tom purée with salt & pepper and added garlic & chilli powder to taste. I beat this together and then added to meat mixture. I made sure everything was well mixed together and formed a loaf shape.  I baked that for about 1-1.15 on medium to high heat.  I made a glaze of tomato  sauce, English mustard and a little brown sugar and basted the loaf then covered it in tin foil.   I basted it often while cooking, taking the foil off for the last 5-10 minutes to brown.  it was very tasty. 
In terms of spices etc, use what you like or have.  (I did). 
I served it with a bake potato and green salad. (it's pretty rich).

I've had it happen to me before, a story updated on twiwrite, but it kept telling me it was up to date in calibre. I finally copied the file I had, deleted it, and redownloaded it.

The fic I'm reading now, I got to chapter 66, and it was just a blank page and jumped right to 67. I had to delete the file and redownload it. Coincidentally, it was the same story that wouldn't update that I mentioned above.

I know Calibre has updated recently, haven't checked to see if the ff plug in has an update though.

It usually works fine with twiwrite, so long as I give it a few days before I try to update, or delete and then redownload. Ok, I say usually works fine, but I'm actually only following one story on there, so it might NOT work fine, lmao.

I'm not sure WHAT happened with the skipped chapter. I turned the page, it said Chapter 66 in big block letters, and the page was blank. Turned page, chapter 67.

Kinda reminded me of that one part of New Moon, after Edward left and Bella moped for a bunch of months. Only there actually WAS a chapter, I just had to redownload the fic, and it popped right up.

Hmmm, Twiwrite won't download in calibre at all for me.  What skin are you using at Twiwrite?  It can effect how Calibre reads the metadata, or so I have been told.

Midnight blue? Now that you mention it, I do remember having a problem and someone telling me it was skin related, but and it works ok on Midnight Blue. I looked in my calibre, and I have 25 fics saved from there, and they all *seem*fine. I don't remember any issues on the ones I have marked as "read".

I'll gave midnight blue a whirl but it didn't work, none of them work for me. 

 I had the same problem with Granger Enchanted, when I changed the skin it worked again but not Twiwrite. 

Try the blog to book site.  The link is in the miscellaneous posting on the Index.  It was also in a recent post by GemAB on the 152 thread - 2014 edition.

I tried that but since the fic has its own page on the blog (not individual posts) it doesn't have any posts to grab with the blog to book site. 

Christag, Do you have it set to download only new chapters?

I haven't done daily updates of my library of WIPs, so I haven't seen it before.
