Anyone have any Southern stories they'd like to rec? Any time period will do. I've enjoyed Hoodfabulous' writing as well as loving Counselor's work.

P.S. Thank you Ella once again for your library! Almost all the fics I download these days is from your library, and I really appreciate you sharing it with me (and everyone).

This one has only the epilogue left to post.

Are you talking about Motorcycle Man (Dream Man)?  Was it an action/romance type book or paranormal?  I can't remember.

Hi, was talking about Mystery Man (i always try to change the subject to show the title of the book/fic i  am referring to to avoid confusion and for easy search  :))
The entire Dream Man series is action/romance. The titles are:
Mystery Man (commando)
Wild Man (DEA agent)
Law Man  (detective)
Motorcyle Man (biker gang head)

Am 200 pages in of the 695 page Wild Man. It's also very good so far.

I finished up I'm Still Holding On by sushiloveswhitlock. Good, but not great, after waiting for so long to be able to read it. Bella/Jasper story, all about him finding her after Edward leaves, and them falling in love. REALLY long, but nothing really happens. Meet again, realize they are mated, fall in love, get married, Bella turns, Cullen and Volturi issues, happy family, blah blah blah, happy family, you're my family, the end.

You forgot real southern cornbread!  Real cornbread is not sweet, it is made with bacon grease!!  And then there is fresh peas and beans, oh, and fried green tomatoes and okra!  I could go on and on... ;)

Lmao. Honey.....every vegetable is seasoned with bacon grease, sugar, salt, and pepper (except potatoes of any kind). I save every bit when I cook bacon.   ;D

I'm a California vegetarian who married a Georgia boy, his mom had to learn quickly that while I eat vegetables, I don't eat those cooked in bacon grease.  But I do sure love the sweet tea.

I've really been in the mood for Southern stories lately. Not sure why this itch developed. Anyway, I just finished Southern Comfort by JiffyKate, which is set in in a leisurely Louisiana. I enjoyed it, but I have no idea really why--there's plot, but a lot of fluff/realism too. In the end it was sweet and not too long. One of the outtakes was really funny. It was pulled from FFN & their blog, but I'm not sure why. I spotted it on the 152 thread in PDF, but found the epub in Ella's library.

Southern Comfort by JiffyKate
Genre: Humor, Romance
Characters: Bella, Edward
Status: Completed
Rating: M
Chapters: 27
Words: 127,084
Summary: Bella is a photojournalist from NYC and is wanting a change of pace. Edward is a southern playboy looking for a good time. Will they find what they need in each other? Who are we kidding? You know the story. We're just telling it with a southern spin.

Hiya! I was wondering, is FlagFic down for anyone else, or am I the only lucky gal?

I just found another reason why I don't go on FB often - loads of peeps are sounding off about You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login being published, but it was published back in 2011.
I just wanna shout at peep "Get over it, if you don't like it don't read it!!"  >:( >:(
I know it was a controversial fic, so you either liked it or not.
The pubbed version was very different and was really tame compared to the fic.

Sorry rant over.  :D :D

I came in without logging on and then I read Loopy's post and had to go log on to find out what the fic was.   I must live a sheltered life because even with all the fics I was reading at the time, I never heard of The Sheltered Wife.    And here I thought Fifty Shades of Grey was the only fic/book creating a controversy.    At any rate, I don't frequent facebook.  I registered and then realized I had no clue what to do after that.  I decided to stick to the regular internet.  Okay, I'm going back to minding my own business now.

Another downloading question...

When I'm using fanfictionDL (in Calibre) I can download all the stories that an author has. My question is, is there a way to make it all one book? For example (and the reason I am asking) a contest. They are all one shots and I'd love to have them in just one group/book.  Is there a way to do that?

The Perfect Wife - rmcrms5 (should be in the index)
After Renee and Phil die in a car accident on Bella’s 17th birthday. She is sent to live
with her father, Charlie and brother, James in Forks WA after being separated for 10 years with no
contact. Charlie dabbles in training and placement of the “perfect” wife for exclusive clientele. Bella
quickly learns that she’s going that she’s going to get more than a high school education. She's going
to be educated with a purpose.

Warning: The material contained in this story is highly offensive and of a Mature nature. There are
graphic examples of murder, rape, molestation, & emotional/physical abuse against women. While
we don’t believe in censorship, we would advise caution when reading this story. This fic is NOT for
readers under 18 years of age!!

So, never read it...

There are a couple of ways to do this (for epubs at least)

1. With the Fanfic downloader plug in in calibre you can choose "Get story URLs from webpage" and you can put in the web address for the contest, and then it has two options underneath - "for individual books" or "for anthology epub" if you choose anthology, it will put them all in one file.

2. Also with the Fanfic downloader plug in,  you can choose  "Make anthology epub manually from URLs" if the stories you want are in different places.

3. If you already have the files in Calibre, you can use a different plug in called epubmerge - you have to download the plugin separately

Rant away, some people need to be ranted at and often.  As for FB, I only use it to park things I want to find later.

There are a 3 ways to do it that I know.  1) go to the author page, this will get up the author url.  Copy that open up FFDL.  Third item down is something like get url to download from web page. Place author url and chose Anthology Epub.  It will bring up the list of fics and you can just OK or edit it.   2) 4th item down make anthology epub manually or (3 which is something have used with is the merge epub plugin outside FFDL.  I hope this helps.
