This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general. But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

Thanks also for the warning on The Perfect Wife - that's probably why I ignored it the first time around. It may not be for under the age of 18 but I think its safe to say it also isn't everyone's cup of tea if you are over 18 either. Is it just me or are there some really weird fics out there - or really weird people reading them? Everytime I go into Find A Fic on Twilighted, I run into some of the weirdest things that people are looking for and I shake my head.

you can copy the entire library folder on your computer. Make sure it doesn't move it though. Once it's in the Copy folder, you can then add the entire library as is. In the add library as a previously existing library. I named my libraries by their location. Complete-a is the main one. Then theres complete - google and complete-copy. Yeah I back up a lot. Once you have it set up in your Calibre, it's easy to update your main library, highlight the changes and right click copy to x library. Do not delete after copy!!! I do use delete after copy only when I download a WIP or a completed story in my WIP library, since I have them separated.

Yeah, the converted file doesn't update, unfortunately. I normally only convert when they are done. But I have done that before. You get a big surprise when your kindle is telling you, the story is almost done yet you can tell, unless the ending is going to be rushed and not make any sense, that there is no way this will finish anytime soon. Then you realize somehow, this was convertedd too soon.... $:-\$

UGH i did not know this. Not sure if I have it set up to convert before complete. UGH i hope not.

There are a couple of ways to do this (for epubs at least)

1. With the Fanfic downloader plug in in calibre you can choose "Get story URLs from webpage" and you can put in the web address for the contest, and then it has two options underneath - "for individual books" or "for anthology epub" if you choose anthology, it will put them all in one file.

2. Also with the Fanfic downloader plug in, you can choose "Make anthology epub manually from URLs" if the stories you want are in different places.

3. If you already have the files in Calibre, you can use a different plug in called epubmerge - you have to download the plugin separately

I read The Debt - Ta Paixao after someone else here rec'd it (Loopy maybe?) and enjoyed it. A bit more angst than I usually prefer, but a well written and well thought out story.

Yeah, am staying away from The Perfect Wife.

Talk about weird, there was one where Edward had a tail. I forgot the name of the fic but many of the ladies here rec'd it and they said it was ok.

another discussion i saw was a real book about a girl and a dinosaur

well i was told they didn't actually do it but still... $:-\$

I figured there are a lot of fics and books out there that suits my taste that i have to find time to read...so i welcome any comments and recs about other genres/storylines so i can either give it a try to expand my horizon or just stay away from it
