This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general. But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

I had that happen on my earlier libraries after moving them around. The files were around but just not in the Calibre library. I either re-added them from FFnet or if they had been pulled, I added my mobi, merged it , deleted the non-existant epub, and converted the mobi. Lots of work. Fortunately, it wasn't too many. Um, or it is books I don't ever plan on reading

There are loads missing, it is so damn annoying but I don't fancy the work. I might just create a new library and see if that works. As always thank you for sharing your vast knowledge.

Hiya BG, hope you and bump are okay - not long left now.

Bump and I are doing okay, getting bigger and harder to move, but I am enjoying this warm spring like weather we seem to be having in Europe this winter. I hope when he decides its time to come it won't be with snow on the ground.

One month to go, my daughter was 5 days late so I'm not anticipating an early arrival especially since my husband will be out of the country next week for work, so bump can just stay inside a little while longer and let me finish things around the house. At least my daughter is in her "big girl bed" now so the crib is available for the baby. The next step is moving our dogs out of what will be the baby's room but that isn't as vital.

I know right!! I mean how could you NOT cry sat that part. ;DLol, and there's a massive queue forming after you, hun.
I was just watching the repeat of him on Top Gear and by god him in that leather jacket had me wanted to find the hubby for a "massage" as for some reason I had a sudden case of built up "stress" in certain areas.
Shame that he's at work for another 5 hours and even though I've got a house to myself (minus the 2 sleeping kids ) all of my toys are floating about on the levels.

Oh God! I laughed at that Loopy Lou, I'm sorry, I know the flooding of the Levels isn't funny but I'm imagining some older farmer wading through water and seeing your rabbit floating past!

I think the only activity there is "Does anyone know if PTS is down?" Yeah, it's for emergencies only.

Too funny! I love that PTS being down for a few hours prompted a FB page being set up; we're nuts.

BTW finished Dear Maggie; really really like it, worth the read. Now I'm off to read a real book! Need a Twific break.

I finished reading the new In Death book from J. D. Robb on Thursday. If you haven't read it, or got it yet, I recommend you do. Just as good as her others, and might please the angsthore for a little while

not that it's overly angsty.... just a touch along the plotline.

I finished reading the new In Death book from J. D. Robb on Thursday. If you haven't read it, or got it yet, I recommend you do. Just as good as her others, and might please the angsthore for a little while not that it's overly angsty.... just a touch along the plotline.

Are JD Robb books less romancy than Nora Roberts books? I know they are the same person. But I didn't really like Nora Roberts that much so I never tried the other ones. I love a good mystery. But haven't found a lot of good writers I haven't read yet. Or at least - before Fan fiction. Since 2010? I haven't read much but fanfics LOL!

I've been trying to avoid the crazies. I mostly stick with my tech support, vampward recs, and Famousward lovers groups. I picked up an annoying person over on the trade fics group where I shared my Google library. She keeps asking me to send PDFs. I keep telling her I don't like PDFs and she can find all I have in the Google drive. Like I'm going to email 6 GIGABYTES of stories to her. Yeah, that would take a year.

But other than her, there's some nice ladies out there.

I know what you mean about mostly reading fanfics. Same here, and that's mostly cause they're free

But yeah, her books are less romancy. There futuristic detective stories, with some romance thrown in. I agree with you about some of Nora Roberts books being too romancy, especially the series books. The stand alones aren't too bad.
However, with Robbs books it's..... (SEMI-SPOILER AHEAD......)

More crime solving. Eve starts out alone, meets Roarke (who starts out as a suspect) and it's almost like soulmates meeting.
They eventually get married, so there is some romance, but it's like nuances of marriage romance, not flowers and candlelight and wooing (though there is some of that....). Eve is this badass cop who gets embarrassed but the romance stuff more often than not, and constantly gets marriage rules tangled up.

Anyway. I could go on forever and spoil the whole series for you guys, but I think there are AWESOME and really think most of you guys would like them. It's like the right mix of badassness/crime, humor, and romance. Love them!!!

I definitely will. I've been reading her books for... god.... 6 years now. I love them all. I drop everything and reach for them, soon as I get my hands on the new one (or a moderate urge strikes to reread... I do that often

Just be aware its not a friendly site toward Twilight but you can't have everything. You'll love our InDeath Wiki - which is still a work in progress obviously everytime she writes a book. Come on over. I can't tell you the number of people over on Twilighted that I've converted although I don't think they've joined InDeath. I take that back - 2 have but they aren't on frequently.

From what I've looked at so far, it looks like a great site. I am afraid to look at the fanfics though. I love the books and I don't think I could get into that. Part of the reason why I like the fanfics for twilight is cause I think they make the characters more likeable then SM did (Please don't pelt me with rotted fruit, anyone who is reading this). I read the twilight books when I was twelve (before they were mainstream popular) and as I grew up, the original books just didn't seem as good as they did back then. To be honest... I've read so many fics and the books so few times, sometimes I forget what actually happened in the books.
But anyways... got sidetracked there. Yeah, I'm looking forward to exploring the site more and seeing what other people have to say about the series.

I don't read our fanfic - from what I hear it's awful. However - we are the only site that does InDeath fanfic. - and Nora does know we exist because her assistant is a member and occasionally makes her presence known. We have a tendency to be passionate and opinionated. Religion and politics are banned - for a good reason - the discussions tended to be incredibly heated and people stopped talking to one another. I think you'll have fun.

By the way, Ellachanted, I think you'd enjoy the series. The peripheral characters are also a draw - they are funny and quirky and delightful. The murderers are unforgettable.
