Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, so please play nice

Because we know drypen's watching

I don't remember anyone hating on Tailward but I do remember it took some getting used to thinking Twiward - Tailward, Twiward- Tailward, Twiward - Tailward...But once you stop thinking Edward from anything to do with Twilight or 'earth' at all and just read it as a standalone story it because easier to enjoy and I loved it. But yeah, not that many ladies here were able to get their heads round Twiward with a a tail!  :D
Dead and Gone to Heaven was a great story. Really funny, and sweet, especially the opening chapter.....

Soemthing I've been wondering about all day. The violin from the Titanic is being auction off on Saturday (reserve price £250,000), but considering it was being played as the ship went down (we've all seen the films; stoic, stiff upper lip, quartet playing the passengers to their untimely death) how did it get back to dry land?

Good question. I hope no one used up space in a life boat rather than taking a passenger. That wouldn't be the kind of object I'd want to buy at all, even if I did have £250,000+ to spare.

P.S. floved Edward with a tail. Written in the Stars was a great story! Quite original. I just got two of Lissa Bryan's OF stories yesterday and am looking forward to reading them.

I agree, I think it might be a bit creepy to own such a piece of memorability....It's not the odd plate or something this would be a pretty personal item.

I think Lissa Bryan is bloody marvellous, what OF stories do you have of hers?

I always thought of Tailward having Rob's face.  In any case his tail was smexy he would cuddle her with it, how adorable is that?

By the by,  anyone out there who has not read Tailward, you are so missing out. ;)

Yeah. No. I kept The Pretty far, far away from Written In The Stars..not sure how I'd come back from that. Tailward had different eyes and nose etc from how Edward is normally depicted, didn't he?  No, The Pretty has to stay firmly on Terra Firma no alien adventures for him.  :D :D But I agree that it is a story that should be moved up the TBR List of all...

Violin that was played to calm passengers as Titanic sank undergoes CT scan to prove authenticity before going to auction
The violin is unplayable with two long cracks in its body caused up by moisture damage, but instrument is said to be in reasonable condition
It is expected to fetch around £400,000 at auction and has been forensically examined and has undergone a CT scan to prove its authenticity
Violinist Wallace Hartley's valise bag and seven water-stained sheets of music, found with his body after the disaster, will also be sold at auction
Miss Robinson had given the violin to Mr Hartley in 1910. An engraving on a silver plate on the instrument explains it was to mark their engagement

I read lots of non cannon so it's easier for me to accept strange stuff I guess.  I have just read a one shot where Bella is mated to another vampire (one of Aro’s lot).  This vampire has her killed by his lover because she is human and disgusts him.  See?   :D

Yeah definitely don't go into reading this with a picture in your mind of how he should look.  Go in with a blank slate and let the story create it for you, but definitely read it!

I don't want to risk reading a drama/angst ridden story from an author I don't know.

I really need some fun, romance, fluff to get in a better mood.

Lissa Bryan is one very talented lady, have you read The Selkie Wife?

Yes, while Written in the Stars is my favorite of hers, The Selkie Wife is my second. I also enjoyed the other two of hers that I read--The Better Angels of Our Nature (where Edward is a guardian angel) and  Dark Goddess: E&B Version (where Bella is a recently awakened vampire who thinks she's a goddess). They were both good too and I rec them, but not as great to me as WitS.

This is just too creepy. I could understand having/keeping it around if it was a family heirloom or something, but to seek it out is a little weird. Much weirder than alien Edward with a tail. Truth is sometimes stranger than fiction.
